I don't get the vitriol toward Thomas but maybe it's just me. There’s a real nasty group of town fans. Likely Yaxley Lennon lovers.. Why are you "deadnaming"? Thought that was considered a hate crime? 🤔

Thought that was considered a hate crime? 🤔 There are situations mate, where Thomas did not help himself as it were . Things that happened, that were hinted at but never specfically talked about due to trying to keep things "in house". It does not mean they did not happen , but as i say Thomas is an awful person, he just did not help himself or the situation as such. I know one situation happened for a fact and yes it was something that may well happen at other clubs, but post it with the players around him. Thomas did not help the situ which made it worse hence the loan move to Blackburn for example. Thomas is not an evil guy, he just gets carried away and does not help stiuations. Does this help to have a happy dressing room , at Town after the first season under CC it did not contribute to a happy dressing room post .

Admittedly I hadn't stayed on topic, but I wasn't talking about Sorba.

What will happen at the end of the season?
he is only on loan in France until that point but then has a full season contract still at Town......I am assuming IF we got promoted Sorba may come back? Then assuming if we did not get promoted (maybe even if we did...) if it goes well in France they may want to buy him....any idea what that valuation might be?

Yeah, assume best outcome is he has a stormer in France and they are happy to pay $$$$$ in Summer…. Wouldn’t it be a case of them getting him on the cheap though? He would have to sign a new contract with us to generate a decent fee, whereas Nantes can just use the one yr left on his contract to negotiate a fee in their favour? I believe that’s how it works in the wacky world of football transfers????

If so, we might have negotiated a higher fee than would be normal for a player of his calibre/salary with just a year left on his contract.

See his MOM game didnt warrant a starting appearance when it really mattered against top opposition aka that power house of a footballing nation Monte Negro (had to look on a map to find out where that was). Has his bubble burst already and has he taken his leak and daffodil soup home ? Back to his garlic munching now where hopefully he will be a star player and Nantes will put in a 120m January bid in the hope they can "get their man" before Barcelona or Real Madrid pinch him from under their noses.

Jesus I get there are different views on Sorba but did he steal your family silver, kick your cat and run off with your wife?? I just don't get that level of hate....where does it even come from when the very most he seems to have done wrong is be a bit of a dick and have a big head.

No silver - dog household only and welcome to the ex (munter that she is) - for me Sorba was given a chance with Town.....brought from nothing to playing in a decent side. He decided to be a dick and let the side down with his antics. No one else. Deserves all the stick he gets and hopefully will never wear a Town shirt again.

He was dropped last night due to Bellamy changing formation, he seems to have put the hours in on the training pitch & looks a lot fitter, we need to offload him asap but his changing room image will be known to many now......I doubt he will ever be seen in a Town shirt again, hopefully Nantes will make an offer in January providing ST leaves the self destruct button alone.

Well his injury record was awful (he wasn't injured anywhere near as much as most Town players). He could be quite volatile (showed far too much passion when he played). His assist record should have been much better (if we had played strikers who could actually strike a ball). Don't get me started about his hair!!

"He wasn't injured as often as other Town players, demonstrated he cared and would have had better stats if only we had some goal-scoring strikers, all done whilst sporting perfectly normal hair for a 24-25 year old!?" 🤷♂️😄

Why ludicrous ?- Sorba Thomas is a marmite kind of a player. Some think the sun shines out of his hole - others dont. There is no questioning Sorba was out for himself and his inflated ego put him in a place where he considered himself to be a far better player than he acutually is. So he sulked and caused disruption and was shipped out to Blackburn where he was found out to be the kind of perulant player he is and he was shipped back only to be a bang average crosser of a ball and footballer at best. I do wish him all the best and do hope he succeeds in France. The young girls out there will love him ! - but most of all I hope we never have to put up with his disruptive ways at Town again and my bet is he will be given away just to get rid.

Does that make it clear enough for you my dear ?

^ And yet there's zero evidence whatsoever that that was the case, the ONLY thing we have to go on is what we saw which was a player running himself into the ground, perhaps trying TOO HARD if anything, whilst half the team had given up and were resigned to relegation.
No footballer can be questioned for having an ego. They NEED that self-belief to go out and perform close to their potential.
That lack of ego, and being "nice", is why players like Nathan Clarke never played above League 1...nothing to do with potential ability.

That lack of ego, and being "nice", is why players like Nathan Clarke never played above League 1...nothing to do with potential ability. I tend to fall on the side of defending Thomas, he was our best player for long spells last season and was putting in an extra bit of effort while other more senior players lagged, seemed to have cut petulance out of his game etc. And then even with that, we not only looked set for relegation, but he was singled out by Breitenreiter. I'd give up too in those circumstances. HOWEVER, the man himself has said that he had some soul searching to do during the close season, and took some harsh words from family about his attitude. There's also the obvious bit that his personality is quite hard to manage. I think this is misinterpreted as being all ego, but I think it's more hyperactivity. Without meaning to be too rude, every impression I've got from him on the pitch, on video, and in interviews with managers, is that he's exhausting company. But lots of footballers are, and if you can't manage people you're a bad manager ultimately. Corberan and Warnock could do it.

All in all a move for the guy would suit him, us, and his future with Wales. Let’s hope we have an agreement informally with Nantes over a fee.
