When you think back to 12 months ago, where he was shipped out to Blackburn and taking a hell of a lot of stick from Town fans, he's come a very long way.
Still has his detractors for some reason, but he's one of our most consistent players and a genuine contender for Player of the Year.
I think his set pieces have regressed but his overall game has much improved since 2021-22, so fair play to him. I've no doubt we'll make a hefty profit when the time comes.

Thought he started yesterday a bit hit and miss but soon grew into the game and had one of his best games. Maybe it's motivation , but once he measured up those crosses they were superb. For me consistency has always been the question about Sorba because when he's 'on it', he's superb ! Long may it continue...

I've been really impressed with his attitude this season. His consistency has improved by leaps and bounds and us now adding goals to his game as well. I wouldn't even day his set pieces have massively regressed because he still puts in great deliveries and when it leads to nothing it's often down to what he's asked to do. The only complaint is him still getting bookings for dissent. Other than that he's probably been our most important player this season. Long may this continue

Thank goodness this newer thread on him doesn't open with "is it just me or is this guy taking the p***" like the previous one did.

Looked knackered on 70m mins, he needs resting soon.
What a top player he's been for us though.
He held us together when the going was rough and he's leading us out of the mess.
Player of the year so far

Love him to bits! Has really come on this season. Better than under Carlos. If he carries on with this form the vultures will be circling.

Rudoni must be POTY surely. He's fantastic. Sorba is doing well though...I just wish his final ball was better in open play.

Any posters wish to get the birch twigs out and admit they were amongst the throng with the pitch forks at the beginning of the season who wanted rid?

For me he's had a better season than in 2021/22 with more goals and much more responsibility and shown much more maturity

He’s been decent at times but no where near matching what sorba has done this season, or helik. And if we are criticising Thomas for a lack of end product you must be having nightmares watching rudoni at times, he falls apart like a wet rag in the box.

I still think he's a fairly limited footballer, however his work rate is absolutely second to nobody in the league, let alone the club. Fair fucks to him.
That been said, this change in style has benefited him massively, it's been great to see him running at players rather than pumping cross after cross in.

He just needs a goal to get him going Rudoni got a goal against qpr. His finishing has always been poor, I genuinely think he panics under pressure because it’s clear to see he has bags of ability but he more than often trips over his own feet, falls over or does something inexplicable in the crucial moments.

He did score against QPR but he missed the Wednesday game and then missed shots against Southampton which sets his confidence back to zero. Also think about some of the finishes when he is confident in and around the box like his first goal against QPR this season and against Blackburn last season, both well taken first time finishes with his right foot. He's a completely different player in the box when he is confident.

He’s a chance creator (one of the best in the league), set piece specialist, quick, has the work rate and actually has the bollocks to take games by the scruff of the neck now. Top 6 player easily.

Agree with all that but a shame that he has two such glaring weaknesses in that he can’t head the ball as he’s always been soft as shite in going for 50/50 tackles.

We should get Pearson on the wing then. That'll sort it. 🤪

Any posters wish to get the birch twigs out and admit they were amongst the throng with the pitch forks at the beginning of the season who wanted rid? 🤪 Not the beginning of this season, but I would have ditched him the beginning of last season. Seemed to down tools and came over as a real bad apple. ..he looked like the non league player we'd signed most games. Think clearly his mind wasnt on it like it had been in early 21/22 under corboran. The whole Wales thing maybe.,,the social media witch hunt from some 'fans'...the various managerial changes...dont think he was mentally able to be at his best. Different player again now and he was immense last night. Still get the impression hes a bit of a marmite character within the club. He mentioned twice in his short post match interview how not all his team mates are his friends, which was an odd thing to bring up I thought.

He’s obviously an aggressive character - which probably drives his performance. Nothing wrong with that in my opinion.

He probably is slapps - I know he's had disagreements shall we say in training but the odd thing with fans has been the accusations of not trying / laziness. A bit last year yes - but given the numpty he worked under it wasnt a surprise and he wasnt the only one. One thing you cant fault this year though is his attitude / determination and effort.

Year #1 was wide-eyed exuberance and living out his childhood dreams. I remember one of the senior pros telling an anecdote about how they had to explain to him how his win bonus worked. Year #2 he struggled to adapt to the changed status his bumper new contract implied. The team struggled, it wasn't fun anymore, and the immaturity we'd all loved the year before manifested itself as petulance. Year #3 he's adjusted, reassumed the work ethic that earned him his opportunity in the first place, and grown into one of the senior members of the squad.
