I really want to like Nagle, I do think his heart is in the right place and he thinks he's putting in money into the right areas of the club but the reality is it's just looking like gaffe after gaffe after being poorly advised.
Sacking Warnock after 7 games
Appointing Darren Bore, zero calibre at championship level
Appointing Andre, Wrong man wrong time
Hiring second hand car salemans Cartwright
Taking said advice and spending our seemingly entire budget on 3 crocks
Again not buy a fit, competent striker in Summer
...
Nobody is asking for Birmingham level of funds to be thrown about but we sold Rudoni for 5.0m; 1.0m Sorba Loan - the guy is a billionaire and at this level we're not under FFP. If we spent 5.0m on fees this year and it got us up, there's an extra 5m in TV rights next season.. not exactly difficult math. Being a US billionaire I would've thought there's all kind of sponsorship avenues nagle has connections with.
Surely if there was a time to make up for the very clear errors above that cost us our championship status it is now; splash the cash whilst we still can - get some momentum and if we're top 2 I guarantee the fans won't be laughing at the merchandise etc.
Unfortunately he hasn't got the people around him with the networks or connections to effectively spend the cash.
We're in big trouble, Duff has no plan B, we don't need 3 CB at this level against 75% of these sides. We don't have a competent striker; I could care less if any of them get injured as they're all interchangeable 5 goal a season strikers. We might plod along, win 3, lose 2, draw against a better side and likely scrape into the playoffs.
If I were in Kevs boots I would've taken a step back, looked at the above bullet pints and realised some big mistakes have been made and throw some money at it which puts us in the top bracket of this division in readiness for the championship. Mental how he thinks this squad would tear up league one; we're perennial losers, aging and no striker.

If I remember, there were complaints from supporters that we were awful to watch under Wagner and Corberon. I'm not sure what sort of football supporters actually want. I definitely thought Carlos football was boring, but why as town fans can we not want good football and winning football. I can see how it was boring for some I didn't mind it. it was winning football and from a geeky point of view I enjoyed the watching of the various tactical changes from set ups to in game management the fluid Ness of the side, interchanging systems, set pieces. A lot to watch and take in. Still didn't understand his pressers at times. At first his football was exciting but with injuries and limited players he had to adapt and find a way of winning which he did. Isn't that what we want a manager who finds ways to win.

It was until he started replying to fans… When will the penny drop with him, just keep f*cking quiet! It is really not that hard. Just read his tweets now. Can't believe he's saying we shouldn't be booing the performance. We sold out at a shit place to get to, when the game was free to everyone on one of the main channels in the UK, everyone there had right to voice their frustrations given what the team served up. He needs to take a leaf out of Duff's book in his opinion on this. Duff has said the team need to earn back the trust of the fans given the recent history and the fans had right to be frustrated. I really am behind KN, I think the work he's done with the stadium and acquiring the majority of it is great. However, fans will never be completely on board until things are done right on the pitch.. So it is pointless having a go at them on social media. He shouldn't be telling fans they cannot voice opinions at a game, especially the ones who are willing to travel on Friday nights to places like Tamworth. Things like that just builds barriers between the club and the supporters hes interacting with.

Firstly I want Mr Nagle and Dave to continue their interactions with the supporters. It shows a level of commitment and enables bridges to be built.
However the latest response to fans after Friday shows Mr Nagle hasn't quite "got" the message. They (Dave has at least) have acknowledged they need to "read the room". Had Mr Nagle stood behind that goal on Friday and watched what we saw he might have understood why people were so frustrated. When you add the recent history of squandered opportunity, poor decisions and rank poor football it all adds up to the reaction at Tamworth and on social media in the aftermath.
MD in his post match interview didn't hide and called it how it was (although it is a reasonable question to ask how that was allowed to happen). The inconsistencies in this squad's performances are not building any sustained confidence in them or the club overall.
I have posted on many occasions in the past couple of years that the fans desperately want something to believe in. Despite the recent past and in the face of some very poor performances those who turned up on Friday did so with a passion for our club. There is still a hope that the corner will be properly turned and we can have a team to believe in again. It's remarkable that the interest is still there when you think about everything that has happened these past few years.
For that optimism to be crushed, again, by such a shameful (many other adjectives are applicable) performance is so disheartening. For then to be told, with no malice but a degree of naivety, how to react shows a lack of awareness.
There are so many things I think the Nagle era is getting right eg the stadium, the new fanzone, the engagement, the structure at the club and the culture. However the one significant thing that isn't convincing is the one that will really drive the growth and investment ie on the pitch.
I have also posted before that as a fanbase we know what we are watching. What the 700, and all those at home, saw on Friday was simply awful. Awful technically, awful tactically, awful aptitude and awful execution. In the moment when the final whistle blew it was like a horrible realisation things could get worse (than some of the other embarrassing low points over the past 6 years). No one associated with the club, and I dont personally abuse, boo etc, should be surprised about how people felt.
In the context of this season it is important for everyone to accept this wasn't a blip, a bad day at the office. We have seen similar ineptitude. Yes we have also seen some very encouraging stuff to but the disparity of performance does not breed confidence that we are heading back in the right direction.
The real problem on Friday, tactics and the quality of play aside, was the lack of heart. This is not a team with personality, with an identity of togetherness and spirit. A confident and together group would have dug each other out on what was a tricky night and found a way. This lot simply crumbled. The fans on terrace knew it and those at home did too. It's not necessarily about effort it's about wanting to fight for your mate in blue and white stripes and this lot don't have that collective desire.
I expect better on Saturday, it has to be. I equally expect we will see another poor show or more in the coming weeks. Leopards don't change their spots and the dna of this squad doesn't convince at all. That is the crime of the recruitment, we signed players but haven't built a team. That is the issue Mr Nagle needs to recognise and accept.
I do still think Mr Nagle will be successful ultimately but, on the pitch, we have a long way to go.
No amount of challenging people to be positive will change that.

Jazz up the stadium, get some new crap merchandise, argue on twitter, make diaries etc etc but if the product on the pitch isn’t good enough fans for the most part won’t be happy. Having spent time reading over the Sacramento reddits the last week neither KN or CD come away with anything close to a glowing reference. I just hope that they are experiencing a rough patch in their involvement/ownership of football clubs as opposed to it being the norm?

Maybe your the ones out of touch ? If the chairman wants to engage with fans on twitter that’s his choice he owns the club stop criticising him for it and personally I prefer someone who is open like kev to a person we never see. The jackets and things around the stadium thing I personally like it ,the players coming off the bus to dj some people don’t like change I’m afraid and others are happy to embrace it and exited by it. My advice to kev /dave is keep doing what your doing when we’re sitting pretty in the league come Christmas the few moaners won’t have anything to moan about. Good of you to join the forum, Kev

The messaging from Kev is all over the place. It wasn’t good enough when we lost to Doncaster at the JPT, last week he says we want top 2 and then this week we just have to move past losing at Tamworth.
Can only assume he means forget about the cup, we are focusing on the league, but we aren’t even in the play-offs places and have just lost to a team of part-timers on national TV. Who is advising him that this is a sign of things being on the right track?

When will this bloke learn The players deserved to get booed off the pitch, even Duff admitted they deserved it. This was the most embarrassing defeat in the clubs history against a bunch of part timers. Does Nagle think the team that has disgraced the shirt time and again think they should be cheered off the pitch after embarrassing the club once again on national TV? 🤔

On the whole I am right behind Mr Nagle. Though I do feel he needs to come clean about how this journey is going to play out. I don't ever see him pumping vast amounts of money into the playing staff, well not the required amount to realise his stated aim anyway. Think his plan will probably revolve around the surrounding area, and how he might be able to profit from it, thus financing on field investment at that point. He is not from these shores and has very limited understanding of the culture within English football. No disgrace in that. Though with the help from us the fans in that respect, rather than his chosen advisors, I'm sure the penny will drop. I'm not expecting to be back where we have been for the last decade or so, for a while yet. Just hope it's in my lifetime. Not getting any younger. But I'm sure he has genuine ambition for the club, though it's likely going to take much longer than we had all hoped for.

If we get promoted then happy days it was the right decision, 65+ games saw Peterborough miss out on going up last season.........Town looking at a 52 game season currently.

Remember when Dean started taking over.
We had Ternant as manager, sold Mirfin and brought in Unsworth and Luketti MK2.
Next season our big signing was Jordan Rhodes, but Robbie Simpson was signed at the same time for a similar price.
Dean stuck with Lee Clark for far too long and we only got promoted when Grayson came in.
After that in the Championship things really kicked on when we got the Director of Football role right. Ross Wilson (currently sporting director at Nottingham forest) and Stuart Webber really pushed the club on. It all fell apart again when we messed the appointment up.
My point being, there is a learning curve to owning a football team. It takes a while to learn how to spend money at various budgets, to know when something is not good enough and to develop the ruthlessness needed to act on it. The Sporting Director role is the key appointment, especially for the inexperienced owner.
My opinion. Cartwright is not good enough, he has had his shots and blown them all. Moore, Bretenreiter, 2 full transfer windows and millions of pounds wasted. Duff the jury is still out, but imo he is very average.
Nagle will get this eventually. Question is; by that time will he have lost his enthusiasm, good will of the fans and too much of his money to continue?

As soon as he took full control he should real ambition.

Not put anything since the game. Still fuming.
But yet again, a 5 game unbeaten run ends with a cup game due to a number of changes. There was no need to swap anyone. Play the team that has been playo g and go win the game. Excuses such as not wanting players on the artificial pitch etc are ridiculous.
And as much as I like Nagel, I think next time he is here, he should sit with the fans, then he will realise that the team got off lightly with a few chants on Friday. Could have been a lot worse.

By bad results do you mean a relegation, 7 defeats in 8 and the worst defeat in our history all in the space of 6 months? I'm assuming you weren't around in the 2003/4 season when we lost to conference side Accrington Stanley in the first round of the FA Cup That season also included losses as follows 1-0 at home to York City 2-1 away to Bury 2-6 away to Scunthorpe 4-0 away to Macclesfield Town 2-0 at home to Darlington 1-0 away to Carlisle 2-1 away to Kiddeminister Harriers That season included winning 1 in 7. That was all after being relegated into the bottom division the season before. Losing 23 games and scoring just 39 goals all season. To say that last night was the worst in our history, after a bad run and getting relegated just 6 months ago is just a dumb as fuck comment I'm afraid. I was at the Kidderminster away match and could have sworn it was a draw. In fact I've just had to check Wikipedia and you're absolutely correct, 2-1 loss. The most memorable part of that day was the 4 1/2 hour journey back on the supporters' coach because of roadworks/delays practically all the way from Kidderminster to the M6 😔

Exactly this, winning breeds confidence. Instead we go into next week in a negative mindset with the pressure cranked up on the team. Many have claimed these cup games our meaningless yet our worst form of the season has come after shocking results and performances in the cup. Nagle just doesn’t help himself, two days after saying 5th in the League isn’t good enough he’s lambasting the fans for booing off a set of well paid pros after being out played and outfought by a team who’s players are in the main part timers.

The successful learn from them quickly and don't get into a hole they can't afford to climb out of. Nagle I have a faith in for the off field stuff (maybe not twitter PR). It's all seems to be slowly progressing. We will see soon with the stadium deal, H-Town, new stadium sponsor deal hopefully? New shirt manufacturer and sponsor etc The on field stuff Nagle could do with learning very quickly and the 2 lesson from the Dean Hoyle era are to not let decisions drag on and the DoF is a key appointment.

It's so ridiculously simple it's irritating. Invest in the team!! You can throw millions on the stadium and concourse but if the team is crap the fans won't come.
You have to speculate to accumulate. Get the quality in the side and the fans will come. They will spend their money on merch and in the H town.
It might be an initial financial hit but promotion and momentum will pay that back

Always assuming Nagle thinks football is an entertainment business, he needs to be aware we have been awful to watch for ages, dog shit awful at that. Huge change required be it the quality of the players we sign (for which the current DOF should have zero input in) or a new, forward thinking head coach. We are no better than we were under Moore or Breitenreiter at present against much lesser opposition than last season. If I remember, there were complaints from supporters that we were awful to watch under Wagner and Corberon. I'm not sure what sort of football supporters actually want. No complaints from me or anyone around me about the quality of football we played under Wagner. CC whilst the style of play didn’t exactly get me out of my seat, it was hard to complain because we were winning consistently.

You go for food and drinks, spend some money at the stadium in pleasant surroundings, enjoy yourself whatever the result. Therefore the focus is on making that as attractive as possible. Most of us were forced to go every week by our dads and grandads, then later with mates, spent money in pubs and chippies, treated with contempt by the authorities, herded to and from the ground, other clubs putting us in the worst areas with poorest facilities (usually uncovered), verbally (sometimes physically) abused by opposition fans … if we won, it was still a great day! Now, I’m not suggesting we go back to that being the norm and recognise times have changed for the better. But I do think there’s some backward thinking going on where they think improving the facilities will attract paying punters. Sure, it all helps, but if the offering on the pitch is good that’ll help even more and the rest will naturally follow. In a list of importance it seems to be upside down. Winning, playing well and putting a shift in are the first items on that list. So, the playing side needs most investment for the rest to work, i.e. bigger crowds, better atmosphere, more money spent at the ground and in the shop.

So, the playing side needs most investment for the rest to work, i.e. bigger crowds, better atmosphere, more money spent at the ground and in the shop. Look at Birmingham. Absolutely terrible last year but invested in providing a quality team. Guess what, they are selling out every single game. That's 1000s more in revenue, merchandising, food sales etc etc. We have an owner who can't understand why we have a half empty lethargic stadium. It's because the quality is not on show. If they want that they absolutely must invest in the team first

I can only assume this is a US cultural thing, where sport is seen as a nice family day out. If they want that they absolutely must invest in the team first 100 % correct. Nagle and Duff contradicting each other. Quotes from Duff re Bojan " The club invested a lot of money in him, so they obviously saw something...." - I take that to mean that Duff doesnt. Bojan is a shocking player. Our attack simply has no quality and pace. Until, as you say, proper investment happens then nothing will change.
