I agree with an earlier poster. Nagle's messages are all over the place. Publicly slates the team with 5 academy players starting (3 making their senior debuts) that lost to Doncaster in the BSM trophy. Then publicly defending a stronger team after the most embarrassing defeat in the clubs history, losing to a bunch of part timers on TV.
Apparently the fans don't make enough effort to get behind the team at home and are disrespectful for booing them off the pitch away after a disaster of a performance with the players once again embarrassing the club and disrespecting the badge.
Let's offer a bit of clarity to you, Mr Nagle. The fans aren't happy. You oversaw one of the worst seasons in the clubs recent history which led to a deserved relegation. This season we've lost more than we've won, out of both cups with a whimper, need to beat an U21 side to progress in the trophy and outside the playoffs after looking bang average to poor in most games. The fragility of the squad you said would be stamped out is still there, we have no game changers in the team, no flair, no pace in the middle of the park and our strikers have been dreadful once again.
The people at the top are the ones that should be questioned, not the fans!

Think it's unfair to say Cartwright was an obviously poor pick at the time. The transfer record at Stoke during his tenure is at worst mixed. There are some stellar transfers. Arnutovic, Shaqiri, Butland, Martins Indi, Pieters, Bojan. Selling Sobhi to us. There are a lot of flops too, particularly when they started shopping in the 10m+ range. How much of that success and failure is down to Cartwright alone is hard to know, but for a league one club it was a decent CV on paper. Cartwright also seems to have been part of success in the US that Nagle will have seen first hand. The leagues tramsfer record was broken multiple times and sounds like Cartwright had a big impact on the academy side. But,,, after appointment you have to judge on what people do now and are likely to do next. Not what they have done previously. We only see half the picture as fans, but what I see: 3+ year contract for Moore, Bretenreiter, (maybe Duff?). All costly flops. 4*£1 million pound transfers all are flops so far as well. Wiles the only one that has any value left, and that value is maybe half the outlay at best. Ladapo 2 year contract. £400,000 wages over those 2 years as a guess. I think the loans have been his best bit of business. And we don't know what improvements.he might have made behind the scenes. It could all be very impressive and progressing well. If they are happy with Cartwright then fair enough they can trust him with another £5-10 million of fee and wage decisions in January. I wouldn't, but it's Nagle's money. Perhaps if they go that route they should appoint a global head of football overseeing both his clubs. A fresh face without the ties to Beswick etc. The role Klopp has taken up at Red Bull. Sacramento can pay the bulk of his wages for FFP reasons and he can live in California to make it more attractive. I'd go for something out of the box and get a director from Central or Southern America and target those leagues. Under the post brexit new visa rules there is a whole new market for English and League One clubs. Birmingham have signed South Koreans and Japanese players, let's get some Mexicans and Paraguayans. Disagree, looked a poor pick at the time. In a totally unrelated role in America and clearly a jobs for the boys pick rather than picked on merit. Said it when he was appointed. I can see why it was done but just picking two Brits who you liked and were doing a good job with USL in a similar (actually not) role was too simplistic. Same applies to JE imo although his performance is impossible to rate due to the fact we hear nothing from him and nothing about what he does. He seems to get off scot free as we see him as more of an administrator for some reason. I'm convinced the club will go nowhere until one or both are replaced. I won't hold my breath although I'm not sure how much longer they can keep blaming the past for present performance. Will it be measured in years or millions spent I wonder. So far they've blamed Warnock, previous losing mentality, and even the fans are in the firing line this year. You couldn't make it up. I'm afraid if you tried that line with a seasoned English owner they'd laugh in your face. Kevin's main take from Fridays debacle seemed to be that some naughty fans told the players to FO afterwards. How does the owner even get to find that out? What kind of relevance is it? Who is deeming that to be suitable feedback for the owner after one of the worst results in the clubs history? Someone making excuses, that's who. Does poor Kevin honestly find it surprising? Judging from his tweet he clearly does. It's a measure of his nativity I'm afraid. He should speak to any other owner of a similar club and ask whether that reaction from a few fans is to be expected or not and whether it should impact the players or the coach in a significant way. We all know any team would get that and a lot worse, it's normal and not worthy of note and it says nothing other than the fact the team are getting a metaphorical kick up the arse from fans who deserve much better. Maybe you did know he was a poor pick and It was a jobs for the boys chancer from the start. That was far from a universal feeling among our fanbase our journalists. Suggest people go back and read our own views on Cartwright's appointment, before calling Nagle an idiot for appointing Cartwright. There are the odd misgivings, but an overall positive reception. downatthemac.proboards.com/thread/118574/mark-cartwright-new-dof?page=6Steven Chicken also gives a balanced view on him. www.examinerlive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/cartwright-huddersfield-town-transfer-policy-27263846Ending with: 'Cartwright does arrive with a bit of a point to prove, but he has had success before. Like virtually everything about the new regime, we will need to judge him on the job he does from here.' That's where I am now, he has failed. But I only see the transfer side, maybe there is more to it. It's up to Nagle and Edwards to assess that. Agree 100% with the fan / booing / atmosphere comments. Have not liked those at all and they are very misjudged. I choose to give him some slack on that though as I'm sure some of the abuse does cross a line, death/violence threats and families being brought into it etc.

To be clear I am referring to the negatives of the decision to appoint Cartwright in the first place and not what has happened since. Just don't see it as an obvious mistake, it was a reasonable appointment.

Posted by our friend Chadders when he was appointed:
"Good luck with this one A few good signings but far two many poor ones
Left us almost universally disliked 😡"
Reminds me of when we signed Jim Goodwin from Scunthorpe and their opinion of him. Obviously we said "he'll do better at a bigger club/better team etc. etc."
Turns out they were correct.
I suppose - as they usually are - having been the ones watching for the last couple of seasons (both Goodwin and Cartwright).

We've got an owner saying... - The team performed rubbish, no excuses, they have to do better. (with our much weakened team playing a League 2 team)
- The team got beat, unlucky, it was a weakened team, get over it (with our not-actually-weakened-team-no-matter-what-he-says playing an amateur club).
Feels worthy of a reasoned & not X/Tweet max character limited follow-up from KN...the only vaguely rational explanation I have is that he didn't really see the FA Cup game as important, but perhaps does see the FL Trophy as being something we as a club NEED to progress in. Hence the laid back vs anger response. I sort of empathise with that, a Wembley appearance in the FL Trophy might be realistic (although doesnt currently look very realistic) & could theoretically bump the capability to spend this summer reasonably significantly. Whereas the FA Cup we're realistically only ever 2 bog-standard games away from getting knocked out, so who cares? That mindset could maybe influence his reaction?

Its bizarre...unless he's losing interest.

it's a funny business isn't it....rich guy buys a business and appoints 2 geezers to run it for him...after a while the customers of said business (the fans) start to complain about the quality of the product... Rich owner turns to his customers and basically tells them to stop complaining ? eh ?

I'd have been looking for recent relevant experience and not picking from a tiny pool of people I know in football with English links. What are the chances of finding the best man for a job whilst looking in such a tiny pool of people. I suspect he underestimated how key the roll was and thought it was very handy someone he was aware of had done the role at Stoke. The fact he'd been out of the job for years probably didn't register as being a huge problem even if we ignore his reputation there. Anyway he's now got some very relevant recent performance to judge him on so this is more about the here and now than looking back in hindsight.

There are many who aren't convinced by the 1st team footballing decisions, noting that money has been spent (wasted), who are trying to reasonably challenge the narrative that things are in a good place. The level of performance is too inconsistent, there is a lack of team coherence (spirit/heart),there is a lack of quality in some key areas (I would offer creative midfield and up front). Those deficiencies have been called out for a long time now and the fact they are still being called out 18 months into the Nagle era suggests something hasn't worked. That's not being ungrateful for the money Mr Nagle has committed that is saying the decisions taken by your appointees are still raising questions. It is an entirely reasonable argument in my opinion.

The 4000 season ticket holders who already aren't turning up will become 3000+ people who aren't season ticket holders. And a couple thousand folk who are current season ticket holders who are turning up will become season ticket holders who aren't turning up. Being open and honest, if we don't go up this season, I'm highly unlikely to renew....so there must be another group of people like me covering I don't know what amount of people, who are current season ticket holders and ARE turning up who become non season ticket holders. ie - we'll lose £1m off the season ticket receipts and crowds will be declared at around 13-15,000...with 11-13k actually watching and the whole experience being very quiet and dreary. As a club, we HAVE to do everything possible to avoid that reality, as it quickly becomes a spiral of disinterest on and off the field like we had with the Ken Davy era.

Recently in diary enters , Kevin has talked about putting season ticket prices up etc. Does he not understand that if the product on the pitch, is not worth paying for , then fans simply wont pay ? You can do whatever you like to make the stadium look fancy etc, but if the product on the pitch is failling, then people wont pay to watch it.
Kev calls himself an "investor" well to gain sucess in football, like any sport. Then the idea of investing first , to then see results is the key. What i mean by this is speculate to acumlate a little, do not expect things to just happen. If Kevin expects sucess/ to get to the premier league etc, then the investment on the playing squad , will have to be a lot higher than he is currently putting in. It made me think a lot about this "aims" in the previous January window. As yes we did spend a decent amount, not incredible but decent all the same, but the players brought in were never going to get you to your stated aim of the premier league, or even close. His managerial choices, do not make the statment of his said ambition either.
He seems to talk a lot, yet has not backed anything up yet. It all seems rather cheap to me to date.

I get why people are not renewing and/or not turning up I really do, but I don’t think I’ll ever NOT go, but that’s probably because I didn’t have the opportunity to go for so many years, selfish mam n dad wouldn’t bring me from Germany OR Hong Kong the bastards 😂

The issue with X is that KN is allowing himself to get drawn into needless spats. He looks bad and the supporters look bad. Absolutely no winners in this kind of nonsense on SM.
Most high profile posters post something then totally leave it alone. If KN had done that the other night, we wouldn’t be still discussing as his initial tweet was measured. It’s the subsequent shite that he gets involved in that helps nobody.
He’s also made himself an uncomfortable bed to lie in now because as soon as we get a shite result (and they don’t come any worse than Friday night) then Town fans are immediately expecting and demanding a tweet from him.

Season Ticket £249. Taworth Season Ticket £414. For entertainment, skill and ability value that's just about right.

I would say to Mr Moneybags, show us what you’re about in the January transfer window or wind your American neck in!

if he's losing interest in the football side of things (I personally don't think he is) can you blame him with the shite he gets** from some fans on Twatter? I know if I was owner and not a lifelong fan and I was getting the abuse he gets, I'd soon lose interest. I'm hoping he can ride out the storm and (if we don't go up this season***) we see some real intention once we get the under-contract shite off the books and can completely overhaul the squad. It appears the players that were already here have infected the new arrivals with their lack of heart/spine/balls/whatever. Surely not EVERY new signing has had the same yellow streak? ** we can go around in circles regarding whether he brings it on himself by being on Twatter, but there's no excuse for some of the shit I've seen sent his way. *** Obviously I want to go up this season, if only to shut a few folk up 100% agree with your "**"; its incredible the crap he gets, even though he (and Dave) do bring a lot of it on theirselves for subtle reasons I won't attempt to get across as its difficult not to appear offensive or look like I'm attacking them and being one of the "**" people, which I definitely don't want to do - I think I like them both as people!! I doubt in his position I'd lose interest in the football club I was investing into, but I'd definitely lose interest in engaging on Twitter! On the ***...I really do want us to go up this season...although it looks like its not the given it COULD have been. I think he (and the club) have a massive problem if we don't go up first time. The 4000 season ticket holders who already aren't turning up will become 3000+ people who aren't season ticket holders. And a couple thousand folk who are current season ticket holders who are turning up will become season ticket holders who aren't turning up. I'll be honest, if we don't go up and the prices increase then I am highly unlikely to renew. Simply because I am unable to make all the games and it simply won't be worth it. If we don't go up and the prices remain the same I will be tempted. If we do go up and they increase ill be tempted If we do go up and they don't increase I will definitely renew. Clear as mud

Season Ticket £249. Taworth Season Ticket £414. You see about 42 minutes of actual football. The rest is that bald lad readying himself to launch a fucking exocet missile.

I’ll repeat what I said on the Cartwright thread. The owner should have stepped in when MC’s ego decided to take NW’s office (or should I say the Mgrs office)
Or maybe Kev allowed him to do that because MC was having trouble fitting his ego into the office he had?
It will be interesting to see if our wage bill is more representative of a Championship club as well. I doubt that KN will be best pleased if we miss out this year, knowing he had funded what he might have thought was a reasonable chance of success?

What has anybody seen that makes them think we will go up ? This is another weak squad. We have no pace upfront. We have gone behind in 8 games and lost them all. These players don’t have the desire or fight. Nagle got it massively wrong with his second tweet (but hey I’ve done it myself). However, this blind faith in Cartwright is worrying. Obvious the fan base doesn’t rate or like him. He was trying to say “ how fantastic the work is that they are doing” only a week ago. It isnt it’s awful.

Fan's are perpetually hopeful and tend to err to the sunny side. because they want their team to win. Some call it delusional.

Defensively and in midfield we maybe have enough.
Upfront though we are so average.
Duff only has one one player that has pace and can beat a man and that’s Miller.
Koroma maybe could have a touch of flair. That’s it.
55 years of watching town and there isn’t one player that really stands out. Not one.

Given the Sacramento coach has just gone (as per their thread) wonder if Kevin might spring into action over here.
