Sorba lost his way under Schofield, and to a far greater extent Fotheringham, who completely mismanaged him both on and off the field. Take that dire 6 month period out of the equation, and he's been an absolute star for us. I'd feel a lot less confident in our ability to score/win a game with him off the field, as the stats support. Inconsistent he isn't. Spot on. He came from non league for relative buttons and has been very decent to say the least. The neanderthals can moan and groan - all it will do is push him out of the club quicker........yes his head got turned briefly....whos wudnt with a rise from borehamwood to the world cup in a year or so?! Will never understand how he gets pelters whilst the likes of koroma and rudoni seem immune from it - hey ho such is football.

Valid point, and not one that I suspect many had thought of. As things stand: Nicholls Maxwell Chapman REG Ruffels Pearson Helik Headley EdwardsTurton Jackson Lees Yuta Hogg Rudoni Koroma Sorba Kasumu Wiles Austerfield Burgzorg Ward Hudlin That's 23 players (the others are U21 so don't count towards the total). Assuming that we send Edwards back to Stoke that still only leaves space for 3 coming in unless we get rid of someone on that list. Seems so odd to say that when our squad looks so thin Three players could be significant if they are the right players. Equally, if we're looking at Premier League loans, they would be under 21, more likely than not, and wouldn't affect that. If we bring in the right players, I'd be looking to move Austerfield on permanently this window and Hudlin on loan, maybe with a view to a permanent. I don't think the former is going to make the breakthrough. Neither, for my money, is the latter, but he does need to be given chances to develop at the right level. That gives us two more spots for more experienced players. If they are signed in on loans then U21s do count towards the 25 senior squad max. Edwards, Austerfield and Hudlin are the obvious ones to move on if are looking to bring in more than the spaces currently available.

I’m not sure what’s going on here again but lots of hot air getting blown around; people claiming that Thomas gets a lot of stick (utter nonsense, he’s rated by the vast majority of town fans), every player gets the odd detractor but Thomas is probably one of the most popular members of our current team with our fan base (rightly so); let’s all stop airing the negative views of a minority and using it to create a distorted picture (much like we constantly see in popular media), we are better than that.

None of the 3 deserve any criticism lately. No idea why Sorba is singled out as he has probably been our best performer through this shite period.

I’ve been to a couple of matches recently and he’s looked hungry and well up for the fight. Long may it continue.

I think he got stick when he wasnt delivering much......hes improved massively in the last 12m though. Agree totally re sorba

If true, our policy in signing young and promising, with a view to developing and selling-on, most likely hasn't changed then. Taking into account the squad and where we are at the moment, I doubt that we have the funds to bring in players that need time to develop.

There’s no way jebbison comes here well not perm anyway. Sheff Utd want him to sign a contract. It’s only a couple months since Liverpool were rumoured to be interested in him as one to develop.

with how awful we have been last few months, id have hoped the recruitment team would have had some signings tapped up to come in within first few days of transfer window. but knowing us no one will come in till half way through the window

Not Town but I'd no idea he'd ended up in the Belgian league 🙄 Sheffield United want to sign a goalkeeper on loan in January, with Anderlecht's 37-year-old Denmark international Kasper Schmeichel a potential target.

Come Jan 31st, many clubs will be fighting to get last minute deals done, yet, here we are, nine hours in and still nobody has announced a deal. You would think that some clubs would have had deals lined up, ready to sign on one minute past midnight. Procrastination being the thief of time etc etc.

Fabio Carvalho returned to Liverpool from Leipzig. Now that would be a real statement of intent loan signing.

If they are better than what we have, any loan player should be back with us. The club comes before any individual. Plus, Moore won’t have had chance to see them train and assess their abilities. Of course, if we are bringing players in for those positions we may have the luxury to loan players out and look after their longer term development, but at the moment we’re in a relegation battle and woefully short as a squad.

whatever business we do has to bring in better than what we have on the books already.Just bringing in more of the same to fatten the squad up is not the answer. I know summer is the main rebuilding time but given where we are we need to show our longer term intent (3 year plan) this month, and not leave it all until summer. otherwise our 3 year plan will be to get out of league one back to the championship...in other words, to just stand still.

29 assists and 5 goals in 117 games ? No, he's obviously vital Minutes wise it's more like 100 games which equates to an average goal contribution every 2.95 games. Name me another winger within our budget that would get even close to those numbers? If I take out his Blackburn stats his average goes down to a goal contribution every 2.83 games. Terrible, eh? you can fiddle around with the figures as much as you want...it doesn't change things. One assist every 3 games , One goal every 20 games ...?
