We need players who can pass and move. I mean, players who can successfully pass to another Town player and then move into a position to receive a pass from a Town player and pass it to another Town player. All of this preferably forwards, but beggars can’t be choosers.

For the 4th time in 5 seasons since being relegated we are approaching the January transfer window in panic mode. It is beyond belief we keep finding ourselves in the same situation because our custodians refuse to invest anything close to what we need during the summer. The culture at the top of the club really needs to change if Town are to become a competitive club at this level. Forget about fluff like 'sustainability' and 'match day experience' and invest on the pitch.

You get that and with our fans, everything else falls into place naturally. I’m betting not one person will be deciding not to attend our next game because they are not happy with the bogs! |

You get that and with our fans, everything else falls into place naturally. I’m betting not one person will be deciding not to attend our next game because they are not happy with the bogs! I wonder how long it'll take before Nagle and Co realise that all the fans are really bothered about on a matchday is being entertained on the pitch? The pre, post match and halftime 'entertainment' means nothing if the 90 minutes are torture to watch. |

I agree there should be continual behind the scenes club improvements at this stage and moving forward, but these things should only be shared with fans to enhance the feel good factor when the team are doing ok, rather than right now when things are absolutely shite. I fully agree on the part about joy of the fans. But whilst nothing can be done on the field until January, I don't see an issue in them doing the minor 'improvements'. Hopefully then, they can fully focus on a successful window in Jan. There is absolutely nothing to be cheery about right now, and as you say, the off field ideas aren't going to change that. But surely at least we can see them trying to make the whole experience as they call it better? |

Apparently Chris Conn-Clarke, a young Irish attacking midfielder with Altrincham is attracting interest from Peterborough United, and we all know they have an eye for a bargain.
Aldershot Town’s front three of Tolaj, Stokes and Barham are also reportedly getting lots of interest. I’m thinking of going to see them next weekend v Halifax Town.

Really interested to see what happens in January. It should be obvious to everyone behind the scenes that we have a poor squad which is going to get us relegated, we have a new manager who's surely going to want/expect money to send, and an owner who must realise that the vitriol is going to go off the scale if we have another totally underwhelming window.
Town being Town, well probably sell Helik and Sorba, and bring in Billy Sharp on a 3 year deal. Having said that, at the moment I'd be fairly happy if we signed Sharp on a deal until the end of the season.

It's going to be a hard window
Not many will fancy coming to a Northern Mill Town for a relegation battle. The better players will want to move to Championship sides higher up the league
Then on top of this clubs don't like selling there better players in January - so it's a harder window to do business than the summer
I'd love to see some intent from the new owner but brutally speaking we're not even seeing intent to get existing players to sign new/ extended contracts (e.g. Diarra). There's been no real evidence to date that KN is going to thrown money at this

No evidence to back it up but I'm hoping so anyway. Whilst I'm not taking what he says as gospel, I'm really REALLY hoping castlehill knows what he's talking about and it's not just empty PR. Like you I ain't gonna hold my breath though, been a Town fan too long to rely on soundbites being guarantees. |

I always used to wonder why they sent a Sky Sports News reporter to our training ground on Deadline Day as it was very rare we'd ever sign anyone on it. Hardly any window is ever inspiring for us. Just disappointment after disappointment all the time. |
