We do have money to spend in January Will you delete this on 1st of Feb when we’ve not signed anyone for a significant fee? You normally post shit that’s heavily rumoured then delete when it doesn’t happen. For my 1 like please assume it was 1 million likes. Chats absolute nonsense.

A combination of PL loans, players currently impressing in L1 & maybe the odd foreign curveball. Maybe some of whom were on PL benches yesterday...

Initial reaction was would be very decent addition.Looked at his stats though and was massively surprised at two things…the actual lack of goals he’s scored and also the fact he’s only 21!!!Feels like been around longer. I think fact that we’re local to Leeds so easier to keep tabs on and maybe gives us more of a selling point and the fact that on speaking to a Leeds mate(unfortunately I have some of them)that he needs to play football regularly might give us a chance.because let’s face it he will most definitely be playing football if he does come to us. See how this one pans out.

Gelhardt would be an upgrade in many ways on what we have, but he isn't prolific... my cousins are Sunderland fans and so I watched plenty of their games last season. He's often in the right places and at the right times, it just didn't quite click for him. Link up play is good too. If we could get him from Leeds on loan with a view to a permanent transfer, I'd be delighted. I think it's going to click for him at some point. Perhaps with us. I still think we'd need to recruit another forward too!

We need a quick striker can put the ball in the net.
Sounds like Barnsley are planning for the exit of Devante Cole in January. He won’t sign a new deal and is out of contract in the summer…
If we have money to spend we should sign him up.

He only got one goal in the Championship but has done OK in League 1 and he did OK for Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership. Not exactly Championship ready but we will see what we end up with in January.

Done well this season, but he's late-20's (surprisingly) and hasn't previously done done anything of note at any level. Obviously, our options will probably be fairly limited though. I'd rather we looked at someone like either Alfie May or Kyle Leaburn. The former has scored goals wherever he's been, the latter is great with the ball at his feet and a real presence. I could see Langstaff at Notts County being a player who could step up to the Championship. Great finisher.

Why is that gutting? Less than 2 years ago they were in an almost identical situation to Town, maybe even worse but now they are on the up. Who is to say that Town won't be in a similar postion to them in 12 months time

We just need them to be good enough to be better than 3 other clubs.

Playing devil's advocate, May is 30 and didn't score when he was at Doncaster/has never played above League One. Is there a reason that nobody has taken a punt on him? That's not me campaigning for Cole, potentially though, he has become more settled, more mature and more well rounded (leading to him scoring goals in the last few years).

We would have no chance now, Newcastle, Liverpool and other PL sniffing.

Gutting because we’re a million miles away from Hull fricking City ! Why do you make it sound like they’re below us as a club? They spent five years in the PL in total, in the last 15 years. They don’t have overheads as large as ours. They have a comparable sized fan base and don’t have to compete with as many clubs, locally. They’re a stable club and have been for a while.

We made more money in both seasons in the Premier League than Leicester did for winning the thing in 2016. I find that stat astonishing. The new TV deal was massive We really should be a lot more stable than Hull. Instead we came down without a pot to piss in, a soon to be bankrupt owner, statistically one of the worse sides ever in the history of the PL and lead by a youth team manager well out of his depth It is what it is, but trust Town to f**k it up so spectacularly Leicester made £93.2m 2016 for finishing 1st Town made £102.4m in 17/18 Town made £93.6m in 18/19 2015/16 Prize money www.premierleague.com/news/601382017/18 Prize money table www.planetfootball.com/quick-reads/club-by-club-a-breakdown-of-the-2017-18-premier-league-prize-money18/19 Prize money table www.planetfootball.com/quick-reads/club-by-club-a-breakdown-of-the-2018-19-premier-league-prize-money

That was the case in the summer though as well. Having money and getting the deals done that we wanted seemed to be the issue aye - he did say in the pod that he did not veto any transfers he was asked to sign off, so it was finding quality that maybe was the issue I suppose you can look at it two ways. Nagle says here is the budget and any player you want within that budget I'll approve. If we have 2 shillings and half a sixpence to spend and there are no decent players within our budget then he doesn't need to refuse anything as it won't even be presented to him to refuse. If there is sufficient budget for decent players and they refused to come to us for other reasons then again nothing will be presented to him to sign off. I'm thinking it's the latter since we spent over a million on Wiles.

Listening to Steven chicken interview with nagle it would seem there is some sort of budget there. The get out was there though stating January is tougher than the summer. If the opportunity is there to pick off some of the better league 1 players we should, other than that I’d imagine it will be loans.
