Some bloody good loans there. Butler and Quinlan were another 2 brilliant loans back in the 90’s Butler! How the feck did we end up without him eligible for the play offs? Cos Southend wanted £250k

Exactly as I remember it. Didn't Town win every game with Butler and Marsden in midfield? They said Southend were taking the piss, but it cost Town promotion and we had to endure 3 more years in the third tier. There’s a pattern going back decades where we wouldn’t stump up what was required for a player, typically we wouldn’t stretch to that extra hundred grand or so and it was the difference between promotion (or safety) or not and it’s still going on. Very short sighted. Yes, so glad we didn't give in to Walsall's attempt to screw more cash out of us for Adebayor (edit: Adebayo, ha ha - imagine Emmanuel Adebayor playing for Walsall) and they had to take a lesser offer from Luton. Taught them a lesson they won't forget, eh?

Can see more outgoings than ins. High Diarra Harratt All possible loans with options to buy. Maybe the likes of Iorpenda and Stone just loans.

See if we can get anything done I suppose.would imagine a few possible outgoings. At least it’s not pure desperation like it has been for previous few years.

Think Diarra is out of contract at the end of the season (and not prepared to sign the new one he's being offered) so if he's not sold today he'll be going somewhere on a free after June. Can't see any real benefit in loaning him out therefore - his wages for 5 months won't make that much difference and he's U21 so isn't taking a space up in the permitted 25 squad.

Good to see Rinomhota linked by a reputable source. He'd be a solid long-term replacement for Hogg imo.

Desperately need a ball playing midfielder. Have done for years!

All good shouts. You could probably throw together a very good XI. Harper Chalobah (RB) Kongolo (Loan version) Colwill Chilwell Kachunga Mooy ESR Thornley (Loan version) Knight Ndlovu Mentions for Kelly, Morrison and Vaughany too and probably missing some. Not as a player but the impact he had on the team but Rob Page has to be in the conversation We had a young team and he come in and suddenly we went on a great run - having Page brought the best out of Nathan Clarke and Mirfin For those older Butler was massive for us - if we'd kept him in the play offs in 1992 there's every chance we'd have gone up
