I don't even want to think about who would take it if we got one.

How long since our last penalty at home? If what I've read is right then - 5th March 2021 - Sanogo missed 20th January 2021 - Campbell missed 8th December 2020 - Bacuna missed 25th February 2020 - Grant SCORED!

How long since our last penalty at home? I think it was 5th March 2021 v Cardiff. Miss by Yaya Sanogo v Cardiff. So just the 1031 days if I'm right!

419 days since HTAFC got a penalty - Quite a long time indeed is that... ☹️
Interesting anology in Scotland getting talked about a lot just now as well - While Celtic and Rangers both got ‘softish’ penalties at the weekend for shirt pulling it’s been 678 days since Rangers have had one given against them and there have been several ones that should have been given but weren’t for whatever reason -
That is for The Scottish Premier League Only as they had one in The cup given against them and four or five in Europe as well...
But SIXTY EIGHT League games it is - And the pub talk on Saturday was that that’s a UK record !

Given about 70 minutes of every game,on average, we're shuffled back in a defensive block it's unlikely we'll win a penalty any time soon...

Don't get penalties if you don't get players in the box.

I don't even want to think about who would take it if we got one. Jordan Rhodes perhaps? Sportsman’s bet? In his first spell, Rhodes was a bit hit and miss with penalties. Even in the Play-off final, I don't think he was one of the first five.

You couldn’t make it up I remember him missing one early on in 2009-10 and I don't even think he was the penalty taker after that. It is 14 years ago, mind. He was the sixth penalty taker in the Play-off final, even though he'd scored 40 goals that season!

Famously didn't take one at Hillsborough in the 2017 playoff semi final against Town, then took one in the League cup match against Wednesday for Town, after his transfer back in 2020. Was never that confident seeing Rhodes to step up and take a penalty, although I see he's netted two or three for Blackpool so far this season.

It was 5th March, but it'll actually be 1,000 days on Thursday. If it had been 998 days since our last away penalty, what odds we'd get one on the 999th tomorrow?

You couldn’t make it up Some strikers just don’t like taking them. I mean, let’s be honest, doesn’t matter what position you play, if you are a pro footballer you should be able to ping a ball from 12 yards out to the bottom corner. A lot of psychology at play with penalties.

Should have a had a penalty in the first half on Saturday. Southampton defender literally punched the ball as he ran back towards his own goal!

Definite pen, took the ball out of Headley's path with his hand. Couldn't believe there was no big appeal from Headley - only Sorba. Watched it back in slo mo when I got in and it 100% came off Downes' hand. 1:50 in below vid

IIRC the last penalty we got (Luton Town Away, 3-3 draw) was a bloody soft one. One of those where it's the correct decision but very rarely given.

Compare some of the penalties we haven't got even just this year to the 2 high foot and no contact penalties given against us last year. We don't seem to get the right side of any decision with penalties.

Looked at Robins board last night and they seemed to admit it was penalty. Still said we were shite and there for the taking, worst team they'd seen etc.... incredible the club have picked up any points.

I mean, the block palmed it away above shoulder height. Even allowing for it being very close to him when Burgzorg knocked it on, it's a stick-on penalty.
More of a statistic: the last time we got a home penalty in front of fans. 1,384 days. I've literally got married and had two kids who weren't on the way at the time since I saw us get a penalty in the flesh.

The last time we scored a penalty at home, it was 25th February 2020 in a 2-1 win vs, of all opponents, Bristol City. Four days later we'd see our final home game for nearly 4 months.
2023/24 - N/A 2022/23 - Missed: None. Scored: Rhodes (Luton away). 2021/22 - Missed: Ward (Bristol City away). Scored: Holmes (Fulham away) & Anjorin (Coventry away) 2020/21 - Missed: Bacuna (Wendies home), Campbell (Millwall home) & Sanogo (Cardiff home). Scored: None 2019/20 - Missed: Grant (Birmingham away). Scored: Grant (Derby home, QPR away, Blackburn away, Bristol City home, Forest away, Birmingham away) & Mounié (QPR home)
In 2019/20 alone we were given 8 penalties. In the following 158 matches, we've been given 7 penalties.
Our current run of home games without a penalty being awarded is 63, and you can make that 86 for home games without a penalty being scored.
