Given our usual cup record, it probably doesn't matter who we get as we'll likely lose regardless. Though if we have to lose, can we at least get a bit of money out of it (be it due to being on TV or from it being a big team with a big crowd)

Barrow fc have refunded the match ticket money to fans (220) who went to Maidstone yesterday.....Probably cost a packet & a nights sleep to get there, all the same a nice gesture.

If we get Forest Green, take a packed lunch. I think FGR may be about to be expelled from the cup so Scarborough might end up replacing them. Good news. Ordinarily I'd prefer to have games settled on the pitch but FGR's owner is such an odious character I'd make an exception. Plus, there's some decent chippies in Scarbados.

I'd prefer it if we took the cup competitions more seriously, if only to give youngsters and fringe players game time. Except, given that on at least two occasions we've been unable to fill the bench even with the kids and fringe players I'm not sure that applies this time around. Isn’t that a bit contradictory? Take the cup seriously, presume you mean play a full strength team? league most important and I agree town won’t have much intrrrdy who ever they draw

As in, sticking a couple of youngsters and fringe players in rather than the wholesale changes we've seen in the last few years. So, perhaps Ayina plays, but the rest of the defence is as it would be for a league game. Diarra starts, but otherwise the midfield is as you were... etc.

Ive no interest in the cup nowadays. I’ll still go, home or away, but have no strong feelings if we win, lose, draw. Of course I want us to do well in every game but league trumps cup by a long way. If we were just having a boring, mid table season, which we never do, then it would be great for a cup run. But our focus has to be staying up, no matter what.

They’d have to get past Blackpool first but at least we’d have a guaranteed seaside day out if that’s who we got. Unless FGR dodge the bullet. Meanwhile, I did one of those online mock draws last night. We got Preston at home 🤦♂️

Someone beatable at home or an away tie at a ground i haven't beeen to. That probably rules out at least 63 of the possible teams we could get.

ManuLiverCity at home…
They’ll be allowed a subs bench of 47 players and they’re reintroducing Fergie time if we’re winning at 90 mins…

Not bothered. Sign of the times. We don't have the squad to compete in the cups and have zero chance of causing an upset.
Shame we can't just opt out, without having to go thorough the charade of playing a game of football.

well in 1961 we were a low lying team in division 2 and drew Wolverhampton from Division 1, the cup holders, away....and the rest is history (and I was there....as were the BBC)
