Surely this is the ‘golden ticket’ for KN. His PR team will be in overdrive already and a excellent chance to promote the underdog tag all over the world/USA.

Jesus - the way we’ve been playing recently it could be record breaking! Still absolutely going though.

Awful draw, unwinnable, full of tourists, the 10-1 is in danger.

Whatever the score surely you want to be there? It would be mental not to. I’ve got an excellent parking spot as well anyone’s driving over. Free and easy access back to the M62.

KN will probably come over with an entourage for this one...reckon it'll be on TV anyway as Citeh are cup holders and we are the minnows... could be x-rated ...but who knows if we keep our improving form (results) going for next few weeks we might keep them to 5... What about the second half?

What about the second half? You beat a few to that one, Leicester away (City at home to Blades 30 Dec) then City away in 4-7 days...... Odds on a Town double will be staggering & extremely unlikely.

He gets to see the gap first hand and just how much work needs to be done. Might even spur on more transfer activity. Can’t imagine Darren Moore will be as happy though.

For the club as a whole I cannot see a downside. Publicity, money, will keep players on their toes until then etc etc. I’m guessing a large percentage of moaners will go anyway. If we as drawn Eastleigh or Reading away they would still moan.

It will certainly make a change from being knocked out by mid-table Championship mediocrity.

Having been at Maine Road in 1987 there is a masochistic part of me that thinks I might go just in case they repeat or better the double figure feat and I can wear a double badge of humiliation. Phil H, is that you? 👀

Blimey. It’s desperate times at Reading. Yes, so desperate that they are fielding Pereira in goal. You must remember him...

Chelsea kept it to only 4 in last season’s round 3 tie at City. No reason why we can’t produce an equally reasonable score line.

What I remember from the last visit is its an utterly garbage place to watch football. Too far from the action and you're in little blocks that make it feel not very busy in the away section. Silence from home fans in between cheering when they score. And the football they play against lower clubs is more tedious than watching Town. Do nothing, take no attacking risks, be completely impenetrable, invite the rubbish team onto you, wait for them to make a mistake, and then capitalise and DESTROY them with 10 seconds of brilliance. Get a second goal, and then take the piss like you're having a 5-a-side friendly game, with zero chance of losing.

Aside of the fact this is probably the end of the road for us (stranger things have happened), this will be a nice diversion for some of our players. I’m sure they’ll be relishing the opportunity. Such a shame we can’t go back to the one sub per team rule for this game, they’ll have a bench that will be worth ten, maybe twenty or thirty times the value of our entire squad… The PL, trickling down fuckall since 1992… I think any single member of their squad is worth 10+ times our squad. Even their 3rd choice keeper that's ancient and keeps getting Champions League medals for sitting on the bench is.

Will we set up as if we are playing Manchester City? If we play 10 at the back, plus 10 in midfield & another ten up front we might keep the score down.
