Haaland v Helik. Bring it on. Rather that than Lees or Pearson v Haaland

Whatever the score surely you want to be there? It would be mental not to. I’ve got an excellent parking spot as well anyone’s driving over. Free and easy access back to the M62. What I remember from the last visit is its an utterly garbage place to watch football. Too far from the action and you're in little blocks that make it feel not very busy in the away section. Silence from home fans in between cheering when they score. And the football they play against lower clubs is more tedious than watching Town. Do nothing, take no attacking risks, be completely impenetrable, invite the rubbish team onto you, wait for them to make a mistake, and then capitalise and DESTROY them with 10 seconds of brilliance. Get a second goal, and then take the piss like you're having a 5-a-side friendly game, with zero chance of losing. I think when we last played them in the cup we got tickets over 3 tiers but i was in the away end when they played Arsenal in the cup last season. That was the entire upper tier so yes a distance from the pitch but a very good atmosphere. The whole thing before is worth the visit. They make a big deal of the coaches arriving if you get there early enough VIP spotting at the same time. Plenty of eateries round the ground and decent pies/lagers inside. Then some kind of laser/light show depending on the kick off time. Not everyone’s thing but my lad loves it. It’s the future of football in my opinion.

I predict 20% possession and a loss away to (insert any mediocre lower division side here). Followed by barely intelligible monologue featuring 'process', 'journey' and that Town cup-runless stalwart, 'chance to look at.' Oh, the joys. It won't be that high

Having been at Maine Road in 1987 there is a masochistic part of me that thinks I might go just in case they repeat or better the double figure feat and I can wear a double badge of humiliation. Phil H, is that you? 👀 Sssshhh, I told some folk I was playing squash that day.

? ? ? We don't need to start getting involved with the underdog nonsense again. Obviously the underdog in this individual match but we don't need to let it define the club for another decade!

Watching them now v Spurs. Ederson has wonderful ability on the ball - and he’s the keeper!

Hopefully get a few thousand tickets for this one. Already booked to come down for the Sheff Wed game beginning of February. But going to try and get one for this one. Been to Main Road, but on my visit we won 3-2👍

Went on the special train & the Police told us to expect the train to be attacked at Stalybridge on the way back. One kid chucked a stone at the window in the end! I can't remember if it was that one or the year after when all the double-deckers taking us to the ground from Victoria were trashed.

Burgzorg is going to tear them a new one in this...and we'll sell him for £50m in summer.
0-4 Burgzorg 3, Helik 1

Last time we met them in the cup, we went toe to toe in a sold out home fixture, 0-0 and probably had the better of the game against quite a strong City side and a second string Town side. Then lost 5-1 at theirs but didn't play too badly

Group of lads I go to games with were looking at our starting line up for the home game the week we played Hull 2 weeks ago. We concluded that six or seven of the eleven that started against Man C (mostly made up of reserves) would be first choice in our current side.

We piled on to these rows of double deckers to go to the ground but sat there ages. Someone started rocking to try to clatter the tops together then started kicking all the windows out. Hardly a window left in any of them by the time we arrived at Maine Road.

If then non league Exeter city can draw at Man utd surely championship Huddersfield town can draw at Man city. Not so long ago that we did! Right before that Chelsea game. And we took them to an FA Cup replay as a Championship club the season before. Keep the faith!
