If then non league Exeter city can draw at Man utd surely championship Huddersfield town can draw at Man city. Not so long ago that we did! Right before that Chelsea game. And we took them to an FA Cup replay as a Championship club the season before. Keep the faith! Well its certainly a tie to look forward to, just hope we give agood account of ourselves.

The season after we lost 1-0, early season game in september if that jogs your memory. Not really! There must be a few on here who remember that though. We piled on to these rows of double deckers to go to the ground but sat there ages. Someone started rocking to try to clatter the tops together then started kicking all the windows out. Hardly a window left in any of them by the time we arrived at Maine Road.

I think you’re probably correct in that prediction, but sadly he’s not our player to sell … He will be in summer, we have an option to buy fixed at around £1.5m. I wouldn't spend more than £250K on him and even that's a gamble.

I was on one bus with the windows kicked out and we ended up at a police station! I was arrested on on one of the buses with glass in my trainers,I recall it been the easter game though, red hot weather causing the windows to be kicked out, think Sutton broke his leg that day,,spent all afternoon in Platt Lane police station, they finally let us out about 6'oclock,it was like the Warriors film trying to get home that night.

Well then - Some draw for sure there - Profile wise it’ll be excellent...
But on the pitch - Oh dear !
Certainly plenty defending practice that day for sure -
Ach well - It’ll be an interesting chat with the three ‘Gueniune’ Man City fans here who supported them when they were below HTAFC...
Just as long as it’s not gonna be Ten Again ! ☹️

They'll discover we've got the new Haaland when we unleash Hudlin.

Who wants to watch Man City reserves cruise past huddersfield reserves?

Arsenal v Liverpool and Sunderland v Newcastle plus the obligatory Wigan v Man United will be in front of this tie.
I wouldn't be surprised if its played Friday night or on a Sunday though.

Think Arsenal v Liverpool will be Friday night, Wigan v Man Utd on Monday night & Tyne/Wear derby defo early ko Sat/Sun. A lot of games last year were on BBC-RB/ITV4 same time as the main game on BBC1/ITV1, would love it to be 3pm Sat but my guess would be 12-30/5-30 (2nd choice live game) & hopefully not Sunday......London clubs did well in the draw with only Sutton Utd not drawn at home, possibility of around 12 ties inside M25.

I've seen us concede 4, 5, 6 and 10 at City (the 4 was a League Cup replay in 1968-69), but it's either a hatful or, quite often, nil. Their offside 8th, 9th and 10th (and the first) were the last goals they scored against us at Maine Road and we went there 3 or 4 more times, including the 0-0 after extra time in the Cup replay in 1988 ('go on, score 10 against us again, you bastards') and the Rob Edwards match. This doesn't have the look of a nil, though.

Maybe Gillingham - Sheff Utd as well. Chance of an upset as Gillingham going well in league two. Probably a Friday night game on TV for that one.

I had a dawning realisation yesterday that I've just gambled £100 on us & QPR both getting knocked out, having bought train tickets for the 27th. Couldn't they just have left 4th round day blank like they used to!

On paper the sides are only one league apart
In reality ...
If you were to make this a fair contest you'd give us a 4 goal head start
We couldn't meet a worse team. City are used to dealing with teams sitting deep and defending - and they batter sides far far better than Town who do this. I mean City played Spurs yesterday in a 3-2-4-1 formation!
We also have a small squad and won't be able to rest players over the busy Festive Period (this will be our 8th games in 4 weeks between 9th Dec and 6th Jan). We can't put out B Team lads out in this - I mean they recently got thrashed 7-0 by Derby's reserves and DM won't put most of them on the bench even! So we'll have to put out a side of very leggy first team players with some of the B team padding out the numbers ... and all chasing shadows for 90 mins as Man City have 90% possession and move the ball as they want and pull us all over the pitch
The only plus I think is City will ease down though once they have the game safe - after 30 mins - as they have a congested fixture list and need to save legs
Personally I can't get excited for this. We've no chance and I've done the Etihad a few times

Our challenge is to rest as many as we can and still keep the score to a level that isnt utterly humiliating. Id take a 6-0 defeat now and nobody picking up an injury. Couldn't be less interested in a first team game than this one really which is sad,,I used to really get up for FA cup games.
