I went to the Beech game. We’d played at Walsall midweek, where they charged £2 more than Maine Rd. Bizarre pricing.
Went corporate to the PL2 game, which was memorable for Dewsburyborn and I nicking a bottle of wine each from nearby empty tables.

I think I've been to Maine Road/The Etihad 6 times in total. I've seen 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats so nice and symmetrical but the goal count is 17 - 6 in their favour. (I missed the 6-1 PL as we were on holiday)

Only been to Man City twice and so far theyre leading 16-2 on aggregate! I hadn't thought of that but a 16-2 aggregate for me too except I've been three times as I also endured the 0-0 game near the end of PL1. You ENDURED the 0-0. F*****g endured !!!!!! We were like Brazil 1970 that day compared to Hull City this November. That game really contributed to us staying up and I'd rate it one of the best days of my supporting life (a real hugging strangers sort of day). Malone had a great chance to make himself a historical hero (he probably wouldn't have deserved). I understand us playing defensively at the league champions it's showing THE SQUARE ROOT OF F*** ALL attacking intent at HULL CITY that boils my p***. PS If you've only been to City three times How on earth did you get tickets in the Prem? I'm guessing but I suggest it illustrates how sh*8te Dean Hoyle's away ticket policy is.

The 0-0 was a great game to be at. If we had a bit of composure we could have won it late on. I can’t remember who it was, possibly the full back (Malone?) was pretty much through on goal in the last few minutes but hit a tame shot straight at their keeper.

Yes endured because it was 90 minutes expecting them to score any time, just as well they were in party mood. I might have only seen Town play at Man City once before the PL days but I had enough points accrued by virtue of watching TOWN play at a number of the other 90 clubs over many years to qualify. Don't get tetchy with me for Dean's policy, I have watched Town a long time and qualified fair and square.

PS & I'd also in the moment forgotten this was still in the loyalty points era.

The celebrations at the final whistle in the 0-0 in the PL is right up there as a highlight watching Town.
Not the actual match as I watched most of it through my fingers... Malone should've scored though.
Anyone else notice our scorer in the 6-1 defeat Jon Gorenc Stankovic playing for Sturm Graz in the Champions League the other night?
Well I presume it's the same one?

Wonder how many teams have got away draws at the new champions and recently deposed champions in successive matches like we did.

Pretty sure that season there was only ourselves and Everton who took anything from their away game at Man City. I watched it in a pub and think 'endured' is a reasonable description. The expectation that they would score at any moment was gut wrenching and the closer we got to the draw the more intense it got.

I’m going to Millwall and Norwich this month and followed town relentlessly over the years away from home for god knows how many years ( but didn’t have 10 years continuous ST sales behind me) so missed many games in the prem away and never once won the ballot its this sort of shit that proper makes you realise the club as a policy of not really giving two shits about fairness it’s more like corporate business who you know rather than being fair. Hearing shit like that makes you realise how under appreciated as a fan you are .

They used loyalty points for the second year, but allocated points for all the games you'd been to in the first year.

First year priority 1 which unless you won the ballot ( see above how pathetic that was) you missed the big ones . To be priority one you had to have had 10 years consecutive STs and either a TOT or BaW . No problems with that but the ballot sounded completely rigged if what the guy above quoted is true. When you hear that these aren’t the big travelers it’s all a bit wrong.

Having been at Maine Road in 1987 there is a masochistic part of me that thinks I might go just in case they repeat or better the double figure feat and I can wear a double badge of humiliation. Respect. It was strange we could have been 2-0 up but got stuffed. The other games were close also. I remember the Cup games. It was a freak result but then again, maybe it wasnt... we were on a downward spiral.

Hopefully get a few thousand tickets for this one. Already booked to come down for the Sheff Wed game beginning of February. But going to try and get one for this one. Been to Main Road, but on my visit we won 3-2👍 I went to that one. Derek Parlane broke Dave Sutton’s leg. Town played in all white. And a rare Phil Wilson goal! Mmmm... i remember a broken bottle coming my way ... thankfully it missed me and hit the Police Officer on the shoulder... cant remember the win... but do remember seeing Gladstone and the boys there...

Gladstone, that's a name from the past and he always had his Beret on. I remember going to the old Main Road in the 83/84 season when we won 3-2 but that walk back to Piccadilly station was very dodgey to say the least.
