And some of the gossip suggests that the players, while not particularly disliking him - don't feel he is up to the job and don't have much respect for him as a tactician. If there is even a grain of truth to this then he has to go - simple as. He's in the wrong job. We as fans can ignore the pressers, but the players are stuck with this fool for now. |

Rather surprisingly, I find myself agreeing with you on this. I haven’t been a Darren Moore fan from day 1, probably partly because I was a big Warnock fan and I didn’t see him leaving so suddenly coming at all. Also if I’m being brutally honest, DM would have to go on the run of all runs whilst playing brilliantly attacking football to get me on side but all this stick towards him for the manner of his press conferences is getting boring. He is a poor interviewee, no arguments from me on that score, but you can choose to do what I’ve done and switch him off. I did the same with Corberan and likely did the same to several other previous managers down the years as you tend to get tired of listening to the same old questions followed by the same old answers. Some of the personal criticism of DM is starting to get out of hand. |

The football has been largely awful without producing very much at all by way of positive results and the fan base appears largely unimpressed. The January window won’t imo change matters and he needs to go. There will come a point where we can’t afford not to get rid and I think it’s simply a matter of time. Seems a good guy, no doubt, and he was following in some big footsteps that almost any other manager would have struggled with but he’s made some awful ricks. Wrong manager definitely. Wrong time? I’m not sure when the right time for Darren Moore at our club would have been. |

It is a results business. If we are still out of the regulation places on the 2nd of January. I think he deserves a chance. If not 'maybe' he should go.

You think people who don't go to games watch press conferences? I go to every home game and anything between 5 and 10 away games a season but have never watched a press conference in my life, nor would I. I wouldn't even know where to find one. I would be intrigued to know how many people watch them and why they bother. I just don't get the fuss about press conferences. I've never watched them, no matter who the manager has been. They have absolutely no bearing on my opinion of the manager. My view is ultimately based on what I see on the pitch, not what I hear or see in generally meaningless press conferences. Me too, but what I'm seeing on the pitch is utter shite. |

You know absolutely nothing about what and if the players like or respect Moore, the players are well paid ,quite a few aren’t probably upto Championship level, quite a few have missed a considerable amount of games and some players have played poorly. My info is the players are more than happy with Moore and there certainly doesn’t appear to be any lack of effort, but as I’ve alluded to above “ I wouldn’t hang a dog on the word of a footballer “. As for calling a man you’ve never met, probably more successful in probably every part of his life than you a “ fool “ , this just proves what I said, this is beyond reasonable abuse. |

I’m no fan of Moore, but to the people calling for his head…
-who the hell do we get in to do better with this squad?
-what happens if the next manager does just as bad and loses their first few games?
-does he not deserve at least one transfer window of squad improvement before sacking?
I can’t listen to the bloke and I think the football is absolutely dour. But even I can see that he’s been dealt such a poor hand… he deserves a chance with some better players.

Those who defended Fotheringham used many of the same arguments we're reading about Moore - dealt a bad hand, give him some better players in January and see how he does, and who could do a better job. He had 18 points from his first 15 games, the 15th being a win at home to Rotherham, his high watermark, but we were still 22nd and were never out of the bottom three at any point during his time here (except maybe for 24 hours if we played a day before others in a midweek). DM so far has been as 'lucky' here as he was at Wednesday in 2020-21 in that the bottom three have fewer points than usual. 22 points from 22 games last season saw us 24th, which definitely added to the pressure on Fothers.
