I’ll be amazed if it happens. Sounds like the type of player a top end championship club would sign Not sure why you think that seems to me like a low risk signing.

We’ve needed a “Big” striker for years. We never have any physical presence up front so I’m hoping that this happens. erm, have you not noticed we have the biggest striker in the known universe? Thats not dandruff in his hair, its snow...

Yeah, so much of a pain it's had over 7k views So if the point of the Transfer sub-board is not to have a topics on individuals, but instead to only use a singular transfer window thread, why have a sub-board at all? Does that not deafest the whole purpose of this? I didn't say the point of the Transfer sub-board is not to have a topics on individuals. I merely pointed out to the OP there was already a discussion about it so they could familiarise themselves. Then Alpine claimed it was too much of a pain to read the January thread, so I pointed out that it's been viewed 7k times, which suggests it's easy enough.

I just had a feeling this was a strong rumour so deserved its own thread……. Let’s all kiss and make up

..and so what ? It's a pain in the annus horriblis trying to sift through so many pages / days / weeks of rumours. Each rumour should have it's own thread here.
Yeah, so much of a pain it's had over 7k views Quite a few of those views are mine. I still prefer a separate thread for each player.

Ridiculous and pointless having a separate 'transfer rumours' board! If that ain't talk of the town then I don't know what is! It's a pita navigating between the two using a mobile device or tablet also but the main issue is it's completely pointless having them separate! Like resurrecting 6 month old threads because the title fits. Silly! IMHO

It isn't levels above us. Aberdeen were in their group, they play in a league which Brodie Spencer starts games in. Oh, in that case, he must be crap I would suggest that it means we have no idea. There's a huge gap in quality between the best and worst sides in that competition. West Ham, Roma, Fiorentina have all played in it, but so have teams from Azerbaijan and the Faeroes, plus a whole raft in between. I've no idea what to make of this signing. Might be brilliant. Might be hopeless. I can't see enough evidence either way to say whether we should be excited or disappointed by this one.

The reality is we can't afford a 'sure thing' so we have to look for hidden gems and I am glad that it appears we are once again looking into the European markets for these types of players. Might not work but it is low risk potentially high reward. I would suggest that we will still need a 2nd forward - loan - rather than pinning all of our hopes on this guy.

He's scored plenty of goals, is a target man, is sought after by other clubs and seems to be within our price range. I know town fans can pick a negative out of anything but he seems to be exactly what we need.

Aaron Mooy was playing in the Aussie League before he joined us, Sorba Thomas was at Boreham Wood. Matt Lowton had years of premier league experience, Yaya Sanogo played for Arsenal. It’s a lottery… but the signs are good when *apparently* Rangers are in for them and we’ve beaten other championship teams to his signature. Also in the excited camp as we’re actually spending decent money on a striker that is ready and has a track record of scoring. Previous striker signings include: Tyreece Simpson (project player), Kyle Hudlin (project player), Kamberi & Waghorn (desperate short term signings).

Why do so many Town fans seem to only want somebody to 'hold the ball up'... we've moved it too slowly for years. I think nearly all defenders would rather play against somebody tall than somebody with pace. Instead of doing the same ineffective thing we have done for years, maybe we should be looking at a different idea.
This comment is not connected to Radulovic - I haven't seen this guy play so wouldn't form an opinion til I had. The comment is more about just doing the same thing over and over, then wondering why we consistently find ourselves towards the bottom of the table.

Completely agree, we’ve looked so much better with pace up top rather than the likes of Ward, hudlin or Harratt.

This is just a guess but I’d imagine we look to bring in another who has good movement and/or pace. We’ve played with 2 regularly and I know we have burgzorg but he’s picked up a couple of injuries already(fair enough one is a knock) but he does make good runs and is quick,if we could get another the same to rotate I think would be good and I’d reckon that’s what we’ll be looking at.

On the contrary, I think we need someone who can hold the ball up and take the pressure off. One of the reasons that we are down at the bottom is that when we manage to win the ball back defensively, we have no one up front to hold the ball and allow us to go forward. At the moment we win the ball and it comes straight back at us.

I recall my reaction to the signing of Aaron Mooy on loan being something along the lines of, "I wonder how we pronounce his surname. Anyway, that Paurevic fella looks good". Then there's the Premier League loans. A couple of years ago we brought in an 18 year old centre half from Chelsea that I'd never heard of and he was brilliant, but the one we got from Man City was awful. Even when you think you know a bit about a player, they can be completely different to how you expect once they play for you. But I think there was valid cause at the time to get excited about the signing of Alex Pritchard, for example. Even if I had an opinion, it wouldn't necessarily be a valid indication of how well he does. I just don't know enough about him to say either way.

At the moment we win the ball and it comes straight back at us.Or perhaps it comes back quickly because we move so slowly that the opposition get 10 men goal side before we even get to the opposition box. Having slow forwards ambling about is making things easier for the opposition. Players with pace and acceleration are the ones opponents fear - it gives them no time to think about what they are going to do to stop it. The slower you play, the more room for error a defender has. We talk about a lack of pace in our defence being an issue... we should want that to be an issue for teams facing us but it won't be with the endless streak of slow forwards we go through.

Exactly the sort of signing I was thinking we’d go for and hoping we would, plenty of quality in the top divisions of lesser european leagues, it’s a risk but then every signing is the lads scoring a lot of goals not just in the league but also European competition. If we’ve got limited funds will get much better value abroad then shopping in the UK.

Doesn't affect me at all, I use the "Recent Threads" button. Only time that screws with me is I'm posting something on a thread that hasn't been used for a while, but that's what the "Search" button is for. 1st World Problems

Looks like this is happening Pro-tip (not trying to be a knob, appreciate you posting that!) - if you change the twitter.com bit to twitter.com, it'll automatically show a preview. Might change when Proboards pull their fingers out and/or Space Karen nukes the Twitter brand completely, but works for now.
