Having been brought up in Huddersfield and spending many years going out in the Town Centre in the evenings , it does sadden me to see what it has become in the last 10 years or so. I’m sorry to say, the only time I now visit my birthplace is to see the football, once a fortnight. It will be interesting to see the outcome of the redevelopment of the market area - the plans look promising but whether they can ever do enough to transform the place is up for debate. I hope it will make a difference but I've zero trust in the council. My guess is they'll spunk a load of money away with zero benefit. The fact they're calling it the cultural heart and demolishing car parks just says to me they know nothing. They need to attract businesses and then customers, in that order. The basic fabric of the town is fine but why would you go when there are no decent bars, cafes, restaurants, shops, you can't park and it's scruffy and run down. Add to that everything newly built that isn't part of the university is a monstrosity. And of course because it's a shit hole it's full of the types that frequent shit holes, making it even less appealing. They can't even build a half decent bench or plant pot! Compare with nearby towns and cities, who are spending money improving and using good design to blend in to existing architecture. I am from Halifax (be kind) and have a lot of love for Huddersfield obv due to the club but also spent a lot of time in Hudds as a teen plus gorgeous surrounding areas. Chose to get married at the Town hall last year due the above plus Calderdale’s venues being shite - we loved it. Saying that, went in the daytime on a weekday this summer to see a solicitor and fuck me! It had such a rough feeling. Saw a drug deal in broad daylight going on by McDonald’s! Saying that Halifax is going that way too. As others have said plenty nice leafy surrounding areas more suited to family life but a young lad prob wants a bit more going on and nearest nice city is Leeds. Maybe would keep that to myself though if I was him. 🤣 Talking of family men, where does Hoggy live?

Missed his reaction, what was it? Lifted his shirt to reveal 'Leeds is my home, Hudds is shite 💙' I spat out my hot chocolate

It's strange how one thinks of things. I haven't lived there since 1973, but still feel pride every time I see the Town coming out of the station. Compared to Stockton High Street, the widest in the country, but with a roofline that looks like someone has opened their gob, with a mouthful of broken teeth. Compare that to the square outside the station, the roofline up past the Lion Building towards McDonalds, well there's no comparison, and I don't know of anywhere near here like it either. It's magnificent, all the same height, just beautiful. ( Newcastle has similar.) Granted they're old buildings, and after that heading towards the college it's much more of a mishmash of styles, but it's still home to me. Having said that, if I don't use the train, and use the car and stay over, there's no way after an after match drink or more in The Sportsman, you'd catch me wandering around the Town at 72 like I did when I was in my late teens early 20s. It's either a curry at LaLa's or more likely a meal in the attached pubs at Premier Inn or Travelodge. PS. I was hoping to make next weekends game against Exeter, but it's back to the bloody replacement bus service, so no thanks, and Travelodge/ Premier Inn, robbing algorithm bastards are charging £93 and £139, purely because they can. I like a few beers with friends beforehand, so driving both ways same day is a pretty poor option. Has been done, but 2.5 hours in a pub with one beer is shite, when everyone else is downing four or so.

Wow, what a cool finessed pass that is from Lonwidjk. Throw in the little nutmeg for Marshall's goal and he's had a massive part in how comfortable we were yesterday. Has a few lapses of concentration in him, but I wonder if its because the game is too easy...would be really interested to hear if there is any kind of break clause that could be exploited, Wolves might be desperate for a bit of a change to try and save their season. I think if they rated him that highly they wouldn't be loaning him out to a L1 team. This is his third loan to L1. Based on that I suspect they don't expect him to make the grade at PL level.

Yup, my reasoning is that Wolves look like they aren't going to make the grade at PL level...good chance to start building a team around who is going to be around for a promotion challenge next season.

Was he emotional because his hero Peter crouch had scored in the same net like the Stoke goal?

I'd be more like kicking the advertising boards and snapping the corner flag had I scored
I don't think he's got the mental toughness needed in English football

Eeh times are a changing. Huddersfield Town player admitting he finds Huddersfield boring and is enjoying life now in Leeds (22 minute mark), whilst getting paid very good money for doing next to fuck all. Wish the reporter would have delved more into that! I mean it's a bit of a tactless thing to say unless you're a bit of a self-important, arrogant sort of twat. imo. Don't like him. Personally prefer the honesty, rather than a player talking in cliches, like we usually get. A bit daft maybe, but only because wet lettuces will take offence. I don't think I'd prefer the honesty in this case, though, and if I would, he would have needed to elaborate (if only relatively briefly) on it. For me, ideally in a witty way, but obviously I can't tell him how I'd like him to be. Still maintain it was a tactless thing to say, and - going back to the press conference - saying that it's tough being torn away (paraphrasing) from his mid-Winter break in the Finnish league and being put straight in the team just seems a little thoughtless/soft given that you'd think he'd take the setbacks of being a highly-paid professional footballer into consideration when he signed. Still glad he scored on Saturday, though - maybe he saw what I wrote and thought "I'll show that fucking wet lettuce!". Maybe he'll have seen that I've just called him "soft" and tonight will be the ultimate hard man exacting his revenge on me. I'd take that any day if it means we win

Big, big question mark for me over this guy. Is he tough enough for English style football? Not too sure. For the money we paid he has been a let down. Alfie May was £750,000 the same as Radoluvic. I know who I would rather have in the side. Let’s see if he lasts the season.

Having said that, his goal at Stoke shows he can score a goal.

And, if we're honest, can you seriously see coming to Huddersfield on your own, regardless of the money, as something you would enjoy 🤣

Being a few steps behind (as always), we've seen that Gyokeres, Pukki and Brentford's list of Danes had success in the championship (years earlier) and are from Nordic nations so a player playing in one of the Nordic leagues is bound to also prove a hit.
Were we also trying to have our own version of Ivan Toney, a striker signed from lower league sides (one is currently out on loan at Newport, one left to not play at Stevenage)?

Time to dump the Bojan stock.
Thought he looked promising after a decent cameo at Blackburn last season. Thought a run in the side was what he needed to get him up to speed. I was wrong, just not good enough. Nowhere near in fact.
Could the last member of the ‘there’s a player in there’ club please turn the lights of when you leave.

Does anyone know who decided that Bojan and Ladapo were worth 3.5 year and 2 year deals? They want sacking. Get Ladapo paid off in the summer and make Bojan available for free, cut our losses. It's staggering how much worse Bojan looks in a lower division. Make sure Wardy doesn't get yet another extension, all 3 should be gone by 1st August 2025.

He’s absolutely pants. His lack of strength, poor first touch, appalling pace and pathetic levels bravery are bad enough but just to add the cherry on top of a stinking turd pie, he is also never in the right position! He rarely misses because he’s never in a position to miss

All three must have bet on themselves for Donkey of the match award. They were genuinely looking like bang average pub players at best. It would be morbidly humorous if there wasn’t so much of our budget tied up in them. CARTWRIGHT OUT !

But agreed, I was in the give Bojan a chance, but he's now showing why he didnt make the grade (irrespective of ages) at Brighton, Espanyol, Alves (both B teams), and AIK.

I've been patient, and want it to work out for him, but he's so limited. He should have all the ingredients for a great number 9, big unit but with a bit of finesse.
With his back to goal while on the edge of the attacking third he's actually really useful, but that's about all he has going for him at the minute. He could be part of an effective team with Koroma and another direct winger/striker type either side of him. But we're never going to play that system and he doesn't really suit the one we do play.
He's the softest big number 9 I've ever seen by a stretch, too far behind play in the moments he needs to react fastest, and his all round game doesn't compensate enough for those weaknesses.

He’s worse than both Simpson and Hudlin. Last season Hudlin was asked to shoulder the entirety and focus of our attack. He was very limited but at least tried and held the ball up to an extent. I remember feeling deflated when Darren Bore took him off against I think either Watford or Southampton. Whenever Radulovic gets pulled I am heartily relieved.

I do think he’s up there with the worst pound for pound signings we’ve made. Of George Donis proportions.
He’s dreadful. And he sulks because Huddersfield is boring and complains when he’s asked to run.
The sooner he’s fucked off back from whence he came, the better.

When he came on against City and Blackburn just after signing he showed some great footwork and looked a very clever type of striker. He looks nothing like that now. Running seems like a massive effort for him as if he's carrying an injury.
Would be interesting to see a race between Bojan and Ladapo. Can't quite work out which one is slower

As absolutely shite as he looks now, the moments against Man City/Blackburn and the goal against Stoke did indicate that he had good footwork and a bit of class. Where's that gone? We're surely going to have to cut our losses with him, so to speak. No way we can justify keeping him on the books for the duration of his contract. After last night I'm still not sure what he offers. Won a few flick-ons against a teenager, held it up a few times, no goal threat whatsoever, no pace, no aggression.

He is still only 24? Has a good touch, finish and shot on him. Does look like he runs in treacle though. Worrying that he has only ever seemed to score for Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi (whoever the fuck they are?). He has played in England before for Brighton 2018-20 (according to wikipedia) so it isn't like he should be needing too much time to adapt.

I think I’ve seen enough of this guy to know he isn’t going to do much at all now. Hearing a lot of noise along the lines of ‘potential’, ‘might get better’, ‘needs a goal/run of games’…he’s just not very good and if we are to push on he shouldn’t be starting games. In my opinion.

Hudlin was more of a trier than Bojan, but nowhere near his level. Not that Bojan's level is particularly high, but at least we can be 100% sure football is his best sport.
