He didn't have a great game, but he at least moved around and tried to make himself available. The rest just stood still and made little effort to make decent passing angles or options for the man in possession. He also had to drop deep at times because the other midfielders were not looking to take the ball off the defence. That's not where I want to see Rudoni - I want to see him further up the pitch where he can hurt the opposition. I was a bit underwhelmed by Matos too. He worked hard and got stuck in, but I was expecting more of him on the ball. I won't write him off after one game - far from it - but I was expecting to see more Premier League quality on the ball than I saw today. Yeah fair point. It was disjointed and so so mediocre with notable exceptions.Rudoni was poor - but he didnt hide as you say. There aint alot to pick from but DM aint convincing me one jot.

Just walked in. Endured a much longer journey to the game as Armley roundabout was out (unbeknownst to us) so no pub beforehand and 20 minutes late in. Almost wish I hadn’t bothered. Same old frailties, team don’t seem to know what they’re doing half the time and I’m getting fed up with the injury excuses. Admittedly we didn’t know the new striker was going to get injured at the 11th hour but we could and should have recalled Rhodes last week given the form he’s in. I know, I know, albeit at League 1 level but still better than no striker surely! I had us down for a win and a good performance today against a team that haven’t won away all season, more fool me. I’ve seen the Chairman’s tweet and couldn’t agree more. I did a straw poll at half time of the fans around me and not one was supportive of Moore, not one. Time is very much up but I’ve heard his post match interview and he’s in cloud cuckoo land so he won’t be resigning, he’s going to need a push. Bigger crowd today because of the cheap tickets, many won’t be back for a while.

Just watching Toon v Citeh. After watching that dross this afternoon (and all season), anyone who says they prefer the championship is either wrong in the head or a lying bstard. Why watch oil classico? Cos Gladiators was fucking shite 30 years ago 🤔

Another game demonstrating how a team of lesser talents will struggle without a "proper" centre forward. Powder puff ( yet again) going forward. How we miss the likes of OBrien and a Mooy type player, no one even close to looking like a game changer. Is it the squad, manager, or both? What on earth did Mooy and O'Brien have that made them alike ? They were completely different sorts of players. Wasn't saying they were the same type of player, badly phrased by me, mean they are the sort of players we miss.

From the BBC game. Huddersfield boss Darren Moore told BBC Radio Leeds: "We've debriefed in the changing room and we probably feel like it's two points dropped in terms of the balance of the play and how the game went. "I thought after they scored their goal, the initiative and the impetus of the players to get back into the game and show a willingness to go on to win the game was what we wanted. "We finished the first half all even and came out second half I thought trying to carry on in that same vain. The one small thing that we all agreed on was that we could have done better in and around their box. "They got bodies behind the ball, they dropped to a 4-5-1, a low block and not wanting to lose the game so it was difficult for us to then try and break their defensive rearguard but in terms of how the boys showed initiative, I've got nothing but praise for them." I keep feeling sorry for him with the players he has to try and work with, but then he opens his mouth after yet another crap performance and if that's the sort of drivel he spouts to the players I'm not surprised they don't produce. He doesn't help himself whatsoever and the players must be suicidal not inspired.

He talks more crap than Fotheringham. I accept the squad is thin but his,and his backroom staff's tactics are awful. The gap between front n back is ridiculous. We had 1 trickle at goal all the second half, and the movement is almost funeral pace.

so we had a guy who's played RWB for us at CF. we recalled a RB and played him at LCB. then played a CM at RWB. Moore doesn't have a fucking clue what he's doing Thought Spencer was very good in the back 3 and gave us some pace that we really need He was, but he shouldn't have been put there.

What a shit appointment Moore was.
Nothing he's done or said since that day has suggested otherwise.
A piss poor, managerial merry-go-round, easy option. And one that most people could see was doomed to play out like this.
Get rid.

To play so deep with only two midget winger strikers defies belief. Yes I know we are slow at the back but squash the plsy. Hogg was totally unnecessary in a game like this

Matos isn't the answer to our problems. It's creativity we need. We need the quality that comes at a price. No one said he was but he did well. We need some natural strikers for him and Rudi to aim for, Sorba and JK worked their bollocks off but neither are playing where they should be.

Think that tweet is largely hot air.maybe wrong like.but I wouldn’t be getting any hopes up that he’s going.not yet anyway Well then the club is an even bigger car crash than it seems from outside. If he wants to set a baseline standard for what is acceptable then he needs to follow through. Done that once. Not pleasant 😕

Yoiks.
Hopefully he's got some football people helping him with decisions, "I don't like passing backwards"...yes, but when there's no forward options because the quality and football intelligence (instruction?) of the players is so poor, sometimes the BEST option is to pass backwards and sideways, especially as our most experienced players are the keeper and two centre halfs and Hogg...we're BOUND to push the ball through them when things aren't happening and try and stretch play left and right to create the openings to move forward into.
Would rather see that than Matty Pearson hoof the ball up to the oppositions left winger continuously.

Ohh fucking great.
Kevin Nagle is going to tell the players not to pass backwards or sideways.
This bloke worries me as much as Moore.

I could not believe what I was hearing when Moore said he had nothing but praise for the players. Whilst we played without a recognised striker I cannot forgive three things. Our basic passing was appalling and even very short passes we’re going astray. When we had the ball in midfield there was little or no movement from players upfront. The final thing that really galls me is the complete lack of urgency in trying to up the tempo of the game against a side who were one of the poorest opposition teams we have played this year. Whilst the first half was poor we got worse in the sound half offering little in terms of trying to win the game. It’s clear we still need players however how do we end up in a situation where five recognised strikers are supposedly injured. Surely Kevin has seen enough to see that Moore is not equipped to be a good championship manager and whilst he is in control we will struggle to get out of another relegation battle.

Completely agree. Not sure calling out players as not being good enough in public is a good move. We weren’t great but cannot single out a player that didn’t give 100%

The only real positives for me today were Spencer (who I thought was terrific playing out of position), Matos and Kasumu. The limited resources Moore has available to him are absolutely a factor, but at what point does that stop being an excuse? Most other clubs would surely have binned him off way before now.

Dross performance. We have injury problems but yet again set the team up wrong and then failed to change anything during the game.
Defensively we had Hogg in midfield by himself and Matos unsure whether to go or stay and the rest no help in shielding for the defence.
100% should have changed to a 4-2-3-1 after their goal at the latest seeing what was going on moving Kasumu into midfield.
Poor pressing against a team with no confidence trying to pass out from the back and our defence not pushing up so giving up space between them and the non-existant midfield and then midfield not having the 2nd press after Sorba tried to run down on their goal kicks.
Surely he had to change something even with limited options on the bench.
Moore has to go.

Slows everything down. Positionally it's hard to fault him, however in a game where we are on the front foot and having to restart attack after attack, he isn't the right man to be holding the midfield. Absolute legend for the club and in a backs to the wall performance he is crucial but today he was a weak link.

Hoggy has always been the same, when with the right manager he’s brilliant. Wagner, Corberan, Warnock actual coaches he believes in. When he doesn’t rate the coach his performances drop off. Fotheringham Moore Siewert etc etc it’s glaringly obvious.

Hogg won the ball quite a few times today and helped us to dominate the middle of the pitch, he was really poor with the ball though.
He’s been excellent for us in well drilled teams where he has passing options. This is not one of those teams so he looks adrift with the ball at his feet. He’s usually facing our goal and plays it right back where it came from.
