From what I've seen of KN I doubt he'd post something like that and then sack DM tonight. I don't think KN is likely to give a public dressing down only to sack him. Doesn't seem his style I do think though DM is on the thinnest of ice now and may not see out January If be surprised if they haven’t started looking for the next appointment already after today I think if I were kev I’d be taking advice from qualified people outside of the club who could give an objective opinion rather than rely on Cartwright.

Hogg won the ball quite a few times today and helped us to dominate the middle of the pitch, he was really poor with the ball though. He’s been excellent for us in well drilled teams where he has passing options. This is not one of those teams so he looks adrift with the ball at his feet. He’s usually facing our goal and plays it right back where it came from. Nailed it. Hogg has suffered from not having a ball playing midfield partner for years now.

Was thinking today, how many good passers of a ball do we have in that team? Helik and possibly Rudoni. Everyone else seems so sloppy and laboured. Takes an eternity for us to work the ball from one side to the other.

We don’t need to be good, we just need to stay up.
A point is point closer to 50 or whatever we need.
Wednesday fans said Moore’s subs always failed to make an impact. Difficult when your bench is as poor as ours but they do seem to suck the life out of already poor games.

The lack of strikers absolutely killed us today. Not just in terms of sticking the ball in the net (which I'm confident any half-decent striker would have done given the deliveries in the first half), but in other things too. Holding the ball up and linking the play were desperately lacking. Thomas and Koroma looked like wingers asked to play out of position - I don't mean this as a criticism, because they are. They didn't make moves strikers do. They didn't get the ball with their back to goal and bring others in. Thomas dropped into space a few times, but his mind was on the next step; there was one moment in the second half when he missed an easy pass because he was trying to spin in behind, which is clearly the instruction, but it was a very conscious move, someone reacting to feedback, not one of someone who just does it as part of their game as a more natural striker was.
We also significantly lacked physicality. Only Helik, Lees and Rudoni had any real height. Otherwise, man for man, they were a much bigger side than we were. We desperately need Burgzorg back to give us that physicality. The front two were too easily handled - again, not their fault. They're not big, physical players. Koroma, if he's going to be up front, needs a partner who can occupy defenders to take pressure off him. Thomas, for all his willing work, is not that player. He needs to be moved back out wide.
It was a real 'what if' game. What if Radulovic, Burgzorg and Headley were fit? What if we'd changed shape to the four at the back the personnel suited more? What if Hogg had a partner who could put his foot on the ball and make the dirty work count? It's frustrating, especially as Plymouth were there for the taking. It's a long time since I've seen us face opponents with no real interest in winning the game for the entire second half. It was very much a game where we didn't beat the opposition, rather than being held (if the semantic differences can be seen in those two comparatives).

Sums up all that is preventing us from competing in a game at the moment.

Whilst i take your point i do have to ask what exactly DM is bringing to the club right now. Hes inherited a poor and wafer thin squad with injuries galore yes - but im struggling to think of one positive since he walked thru the door other than an upturn in sorba's workrate. The performances put a glass eye to sleep and the press conferences are either dial a quote or carloskickaball guff from the fast show! Theres no passion, no emotion and no honesty - its just a confused mess. Hopefully some new blood will add the quality needed - but i aint confident right now.

Yoiks. Hopefully he's got some football people helping him with decisions, "I don't like passing backwards"...yes, but when there's no forward options because the quality and football intelligence (instruction?) of the players is so poor, sometimes the BEST option is to pass backwards and sideways, especially as our most experienced players are the keeper and two centre halfs and Hogg...we're BOUND to push the ball through them when things aren't happening and try and stretch play left and right to create the openings to move forward into. Would rather see that than Matty Pearson hoof the ball up to the oppositions left winger continuously. But Hogg, Lees and Nicholls are shit with the ball at their feet. They're Pearson-esque I think you’ve forgotten how technically bad Pearson is. They’re multiple classes above him in playing the ball effectively.

'Confused mess' is exactly the right phrase to use. Irrespective of injuries, I can't see a particular style, we seem to change formation every game, and (understandably) the players don't seem to know what they're being asked to do. It's almost like he's used each of the 21 games so far to experiment with what works/what doesn't, and still hasn't got a clue. A good manager goes into a club knowing exactly how they want to play, and sets up to play that way. It all tells me that Moore has absolutely no confidence in his own ability (which is very visible when you watch him on the touchline) and is flapping around before every match, not having a clue how to go about things - reverting to the slow-paced 'park the bus' shite when he can't come up with anything to try and actually compete.

I was very much in the 'come on guys, let give him some more time' camp, but this afternoon I found myself abandoning that camp.
Not only did the team have no identity, and no idea what they were doing, his insistence on playing players out of position is slowly killing me on the inside.
Today we had a right sided full back at left centre back, a central midfielder at right back, 2 wingers as strikers, and to top it off we had 4 central midfielders starting the game.
At home to Plymouth and we started with a defensive players (plus GK) plus 6/9 defensive players on the bench.
His formation itself is god awful. 5 at the back is a shambles when our team is perfectly set up to play a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3 formation.
Get him out now, let's offer Hasenhuttl a few bob.

The club needs more fannies kicking, that's for sure, clubs full of them.

I'm not asking for a world class manager, I'd love a Hasenhuttl, but at the minute I'll just take any Average Joe who can play a right back at right back.

We don’t have anyone to dictate play at the base of midfield and we don’t have a number 10 that he would pass to. Rudoni is more of a box to box player. I expected more of Matos on the ball. He looks like a destroyer, more a Hogg replacement really. With the three we had out yesterday it doesn’t give us enough going forward - I hope if we’re getting another midfielder it’s a kasey palmer type to run at the defence and create/score. Also Jackson didn’t give us much going forward yesterday, particularly in comparison to Headley. Didn’t run in behind, didn’t take his man on, played backwards frequently.

I was of the view before this match we needed a minimum 7 points from 12. Two wins, a draw and a defeat.
I reckoned we would get 4 points, 1 win, one draw and two defeats.

I usually wake up the morning after a game and find some positives or green shoots to cling to but this morning I really can’t when it comes to Moore.
Wrong formation - never mind square pegs round holes , there were bloody triangle pegs at some point. Illogical player selections - similar to the above Bizarre subs - no disrespect to Diarra or Iorpenda but they weren’t what the game was crying out for . Why not chance Helik up top , move Hogg to cb and bring Wiles on ? No plan B - same as above . One they clocked on our only out ball was over left backs head we offered fuck all. Poor game management - same old , stands there each week like a sack of spuds , fucking about with his hat and doing not much else
If we waste the next three games with this doughnut in charge we’ll be in the bottom three .
Green shoots when it comes to players are:
Spencer looked very promising Matos did what we needed him to - blatant foul on their cm for our goal though Thomas and Koroma kept trying Further additions and returns from injury for Bojan, Burgzorg, Ward, Ruffels, Turton and Pearson give us options
I just honestly don’t think Moore has earned the right to be given the chance .

Very similar feelings from myself.I always said I was struggling to fully judge because of the injuries. Many of the key injured players have been back from(can’t remember exactly)around Preston game. Burgzorg is a miss, especially in games like yesterday where a team actually sits deeper and plays on counter. We don’t possess the incisive passing to break that sort of setup down.We looked passing wise like we’d improved(Blackburn and boro for the obvious examples) but those two setup and play much more open. 3-5-2 I feel suits some of the team, but not up top. However missing a proper central striker we’re kind of forced into it. Yes we looked better for 20 minutes second half but like you say once they realised Kasumu was getting in behind left back and put a stop to it we were back to looking devoid of ideas. At that point like you say why not drop Hogg into the back 3 move Spencer to right wing back(his natural position) and either leave matos on but play him deeper or move Kasumu inside. If matos can’t do 90(or we don’t want to risk him the full 90)Then bring wiles on,I know many aren’t fans of him but he at least always look for the forward pass even if it’s not coming off right now. With Jackson and Spencer you could even go something like 4-1-4-1 and get players around koroma or sorba. Point being you have to try something,I know not having that natural striker means certain formations are difficult to select or move to with the players available but when it’s not working just doing the same thing seems illogical. It may look different against Blackburn who play so much more open, and we may actually have that striker(allowing us to play 3-4-3,4-2-3-1,4-3-3,4-1-4-1) but if he’s still out you can’t just keep waiting.Pressure is on them their form is terrible just you can’t help thinking a team in bad form be looking at us and thinking here’s a chance.

Garbage, it was a must win game yesterday.
It set the tone in the first 30 mins when Sorba a number of times got into promising positions and either looked up to see nobody in the box or put a ball in into a dangerous area and nobody was anywhere near to it.
Jackson played like Yuta, a cowardly performance and turned back every time - offered us zero down the left side.
Again, ridiculous subs
Again, Diarra was appalling (please give up this experiment)
Said it before, since we decided to not replace Mooy we seem to have asked Hogg to play a role on the ball more which really slows down our play and he plays it backwards more often than not.
It says a lot that DM didn't bring Wiles on at a time we needed a spark.
We need 5-6 first team players to get this team up to the level it should be.
RB, CB with pace, AMC, LW and 2x Strikers
..
Notts county scored 5 goals again today, their front two are Macauley Langstaff who has banged in 60+ goals in 18 months and David Mcgoldrick who has scored 11 this season and 22 in league 1 last season. To think we didn't even have a striker in the 20 man squad! Would have either of those two ahead of Ward, Hudlin, Harrat or Rhodes quite frankly!
Anyone remember when we had Beckford and Vaughan?!

Tbf to Jackson(yes I didn’t think he had his best game)or any of the defence for that matter, yesterday practically every time they received the ball and looked up it was like musical statues ahead of them.So they turn back and “start again” Then it ends up been a vicious cycle because on the off chance the pass is on they end up having too many touches and not releasing it and then the pass is no longer on,or even if it is the space is largely closed down. Iv not seen a team in this division that generally pass the ball as badly as we do.As soon as we have to up the tempo with the passing it goes astray. Also we constantly seem to pass it to players who are effectively marked,we never move into space or pass the ball into space for players to move onto 🤷🏻

Playing 3-5-2 it is your wingbacks that are supposed to be your “width”. Kas tried to get forward, but it seemed every time BJ got five yards over the halfway line he hit an invisible wall and stopped. This in turn led to Koroma and Thomas pulling out wide, leaving no bodies in the box should the ball come across (because the midfield were sat so deep they never broke into the box).

I just think like most players Jackson struggles playing in a badly coached team with poor shape and movement. There's never any passing options all over the pitch except backwards. Even KN noted this and thinks the players just need to be told not to make as many backwards passes It's just a symptom of a poor football team. Ipswich are the best example I've seen of a team passing and moving for each other. It comes from good coaching in Ipswichs case, not just better players.

Yeh I can’t argue with that in fairness.I think when there is more space we look like we’re able to do it to an extent, blackburn and boro again, even Leicester first 20/30 we looked adequate at it but as soon as there is pressure on the ball or no space to work in or like in the Leicester game we concede it all goes to shit.Instead of one and two touches and pass its 3/4/5 and it just slows it all down and makes it easier to defend against. I don’t like sacking managers for the most part but anyone trying to argue against that is pissing in the wind. I’m just more trying to comment on the game here rather than the coaching, your point stands though.

Hogg has been a problem for a long long time. Should not matter who the manager is. As soon as something goes wrong he is looking around to find a scapegoat.
Can we do away with Moore after game interviews make me cringe.

Yeah tactically it was poor and agree with many of these comments. First 30 mins got in decent positions - but no-one in the box. I know natural strikers might change that a bit, but it’s not an excuse - still 11 players on the pitch.
Wing-backs too deep, Thomas and Koroma having to drop in to pockets and wide to create something and Matos and Rudoni in the half channels to support, so no-one seemed to have the role to get in the box, never mind 3 or 4 players.
Plymouth are a poor side, especially defensively - even with injuries, a smarter manager gets a victory imo.
Managers need to be flexible especially when you have injuries, but it is the same formation and tactics for 90mjns every game.

Ohh fucking great. Kevin Nagle is going to tell the players not to pass backwards or sideways. This bloke worries me as much as Moore. I just don't understand this point of view at all, we've complained that we didn't get any communication from the club & now we've got a bloke who is showing he cares, he's showing he empathizes with fans, & he's not trying to sugarcoat things. He looked really pissed off in that video, as every fan must have been after that shower of shit. He wants to give DM a chance, because that was the plan his team thought was the best option for the club, so that is what he is going to do. However, should we get no wins in the next 3 games, I bet DM won't be here afterwards. I think KN has done a great job this month. He's shown he is taking fans' views on board, he's put his money where is mouth is with 2 signings so far, has explained how close we were to another, he's stated the whole club, from the top downwards needs to do better & has stated we will actively plough on in our search. Our whole fan base thinks we pass backwards too often, it's the easy option & we all want us to be braver, so what has he said wrong there? Even if his tenure is a failure, everything he's done so far suggests to me he wants to build a successful team here, I don't know what else you want from an owner?
