He has watched the game. Pissed off with the result. And posted “Time to go to work….” Would it have been better if he’d posted “kicked the cat…” “going to get pissed…” Yes. Be careful what you wish for. It may be you he was kicking.

Just a thought folks. Dave C has done nothing wrong as far as I can see, so the vitriol aimed at him looks unfair. We are all feeling levels of upset, anger, annoyance, frustration, whatever you wish to call it but this chap isn’t the one hiring and firing managers, signing players or pulling on the kit and performing like a bag of spanners. I would suggest the ‘HTAFC Advisor’ could be taken with a large spoon of salt. He’s interacted well with us on here, but on a day like today he is the channel for the abuse. Just remember this is a human being and if he retaliates some of you will cry foul. It’s going to be a long painful Summer for all of us. Let’s try keep some respect where we can. Well said. I think that post was indicative of the culture difference across the pond. Across social media, there's all manner of pissed off posts. The US culture is more optimistic than ours. What he's saying is "this is a setback, but we redouble our efforts to put it right". There was a post a few weeks ago (which Dave Hartrick referenced in the WAT podcast) which was shite. Totally unnecessary and showed his understanding of the British football fan's mentality had a way to go. But this? I think people are lashing out for the sake of it. I find people's responses to it bother me far more than what DC has said. It isn’t just this, it is the post you mention, the bating of Leeds fans which was quite frankly embarrassing and even more so given todays events. I understand this is a board for discussion and everybody is entitled to their own opinion. Personally I don’t think his input on here is necessary when he is so close to the owner/club. Other may like it, each to their own.

CD? As I have previously said, I believe it is a part of a larger problem. To me it is amateurish and there is a reason why no other club (very few) has it. I believe there have been many poor/amateurish things done by this club both on and off the field and when put all together have ended up in one large problem. Normally a big problem is made up of a lot of little ones. Comprende ? If we win the league next season and CD (Carmichael Dave👍) posts on here, you wouldn’t give a fuck. That’s the point I’m making. Would it bother me less? Of course. Would I still think it’s not needed and at points embarrassing ( the Leeds bating) yes. But as I say in my previous post, each to their own.

Next season it really has to be about "going to work" though. Next season we won't be playing our main rivals, so there won't be the opportunity to do it again anyway - but even if we were, I doubt it would go down terribly well next season. But like you say, each to their own.

It doesn't seem to me that there's the same kind of tribalism, maybe because there's generally a huge distance between rival clubs (except, obviously, the likes of New York Yankees and New York Mets etc). It's more of a day out, have a laugh, spend money on burgers, popcorn and weak, shite lager. Maybe even drive your SUV into a stadium parking lot and have a barbecue 😄. Win or lose, doesn't matter, you won't get relegated or be promoted. Franchise stuff with zero jeopardy. I went to an NHL game a few years ago. Edmonton Oilers v Washington Capitals. The Oilers were crap, four nil down going into the final stages. No fan there was griping, no booing, nothing. Still clapping when the stadium announcer told them to. It was alien to me. It's a different sporting culture. I worry that the owner doesn't get this.

Complete contrast to our game over here.

True, but I think he knows full well what relegation means to the club, its fans and the finances. People suggesting otherwise cause he’s American is just daft imo.

Surely he’ll be loaning a smaller annual amount to balance the club in League 1 than he would have to do in the Championship? It’s to his personal financial benefit that we’re a League 1 club isn’t it ?

It was funny seeing the "Ultras", whose main chant was; "We are San Jose Ultraaaas No-one's gonna fuck with us" And one moment that stands out is when they were playing Vancouver Whitecaps and the woman next to me sang both national anthems! The standard was very poor, and as I say, it's just a completely different game out there compared to over here.

Finances go completely over my head to be honest 😂 But on the face of it, he’s not going to be getting any of his money back anytime soon and the club has significant depreciated in value today. If he wanted to run things tightly he wouldn’t have spunked millions in Jan so I’d be surprised if he’s sat there happy about not having to loan as much each season.

The owner has just taken a multi-million pound hit with us getting relegated. He’ll be hurting as much as anyone. And it’s all his own fault. He’s made mistakes, but there’s numerous people over numerous years to attach blame to as well. He hasn’t managed to turn the tanker around in his first season, I don’t think it’s all his fault.
