Seems it’s happening..
I remember us paying a similar fee for a European centre back in 2016..
If he’s anything as good as Schindler we’ll all be happy..
Seems yar Kev is putting his money where his moooth is..

€1.3m, equates to about £1.1m if paid at today's exchange rate. The other £200k will pay for his rehab after he gets injured at breakfast tomorrow

I have no idea whether he's any good or not, but there's a song ready for him:

Decent AI translation on that site : ‘There, the club is camped in the lower regions.’

what is his injury record like? Played a lot of games last season and this. Dutch players seem to be good on the ball so that ticks a big box. Also something to consider is we are not short of players who can play centre back so this would be about improving the squad not just covering an area we are low on players in. Good message there.

what is his injury record like? For Groningen, or for us? Only I'm convinced he's going to fall down the stairs and break both legs within minutes of signing his contract.

I hope he doesn’t do what he did the day after signing for Groningen. Would be typical of town.
On 20 January 2021, Balker agreed to sign for Eredivisie club Groningen on a three-year contract starting 1 July, with an option for an additional year.[3][4] He suffered a serious injury during practice on 2 July 2021, sidelining him for months.[5]

Decent sized unit - should be impressive besides Helik - good threat at set pieces and corners - and like to stick his body on the line

Have we signed Barnsley’s physio yet in anticipation?

He was probably just as quick on crutches with a leg in plaster as he was running full pelt with all bones intact.

I thought we signed him whilst he was still recovering from a broken leg,
