It’d probably be even more convenient if it wasn’t on a sub-board in fact … 🎣

Looks like a bit of a beast and has pace apparently. Let's hope he can play football too.

Was it Robbie Williams we signed for him to break his leg on the first day of training? He was injured when we signed him. It was even worse than that. He was perfectly fit (!) when he either agreed the transfer or indeed actually signed, but he broke his leg at Barnsley after that and wasn't wearing shin-pads, apparently. Andy Ritchie was pretty upset with him. Players continuing to play or train with their club after a transfer has been agreed reminds me of a story our mechanic told me that Jacko had agreed a deal for Dean Windass (in about 1998) only for Oxford, I think, to beg him to let him play in a cup tie. He did so well that other clubs came in and we were gazumped....by Bradford, who went up to the Prem that season. Hopefully merely apocryphal but Windass and Marcus would have been something to savour.

How come half the people are discussing on here and the other half on the January thread?........not the most efficient that is it? What a statement! You will be asking for common-sense and reasonable points of views next.

Sounds promising.
Good age, size and pace at centre half is something that we're missing

(Waddle and Beagrie always used to trouble us too) And going further back I remember listening to Town vs Bradford (away) in the early 90s on the radio (pulse sport!) and Sean McCarthy always seemed to score against us!

Would be surprised if he costs 1.3m- coincidentally that's his highest value on transfermarkt, and he's also out of contract. I think we'll be paying a very low fee if any. Looks like what we need, would fit the bill perfectly if he was left footed

All I remember from Bradford away late 70s , early 80s , was avoiding coins , stones , half bricks being thrown from the other half of that divided open end . Or is it Barnsley I'm thinking of ? Or both ? Those were the days 😊

Chicken has done a little scouting piece on balker on his we are terriers. Quick and strong and willing to throw his body in the way.Decent on the ball and happy to bring the ball out and commit players.May have the odd mistake in him doing so though. I think although he adds a risk element to the back line he’s probably in the mould of what we need in central defence. Can play as part of a 2 or a 3 by the looks also. Hopefully he improves the side.

I hope we can extend Nakayama’s contract but I am not hopeful.

Almeerder Radinio Balker Interesting name. Sounds bit Italian and even Middle Eastern….. I think Almeerder means he comes from Almere, near Amsterdam. Don't think it's part of his name.

For all the accusations towards Cartwright that he's trying to turn us into an after-Stoke club, he seems to be thinking outside the traditional places for signings, which I like. Burgzorg, Bojan, and now Balker.

If he brings us the next Arnautovic or Shakiri like he did at Stoke I won’t be complaining.

Last but definitely not least hired DM and gushed about his attacking football and how we had to act fast before some other club snapped him up.

Well, once he can get the quad Moore needs, surely the logic is that Moore can then deliver the promised football and it is job done * * if the signings come in * if the signings are decent * if Moore can improve his performance

In fairness to Cartwright he didn't actually start at Town until early July. It was Warnock in charge of recruitment over the Summer months, he credited himself and Jepson for the Edwards signing.
