Not sure why that conference would but you off. It’s a million miles better than any of Moore’s. Totally agree. Even if you don’t agree with the point he’s making he puts it across coherently and passionately, something Moore struggled to do.

The kind of appointment that sums up the reputation of northern town teams. Unambitious, settling easily for mediocre at best. Rowett might polish the turd team we currently have but we’re supposed to have ambitions of premier league football. The fact some of our fans are crowing for this type of manager is baffling What’s more baffling is how the majority of fans put managers into mental categories like you seem to have done with Rowett. Let me guess: “Uninspiring” “Defensive” “Pragmatic” “Northern”? I think he’s a good manager and also a realistic option. I’m not saying he’s my number one target but personally I think turning our noses up at a manager like him is completely ignorant. I think he’s a good manager for 6 months if you want to get out of a dogfight but his playing style is pragmatic at best, we’ve seen our team play his a few times and I don’t want to watch it every week personally. Our fans are bored to death, they need someone to put something out there that they can get behind. Our chairman has publicly stated we want attacking football and that we have ambitions to compete for a place at the top level and if you say that and then appoint Gary rowett or similar they can’t not expect people to be miffed

Votes for Jones, Heckingbottom and Marsch but non for Cooper. Glad this board doesn’t get to decide! Jones is off to Charlton thankfully, Heckingbottom is a big risk, Marsch would probably be a disaster, Eustace isn’t proven enough based on what Brum fans say about him. For me it would be all out to get Cooper however unlikely that is. Yes he may have eyes on a Prem job but his record there isn’t exactly great, if Kev can sell the vision then why not? Fascinating that you would call Heckingbottom a risk given he romped the championship title only last season. Burnley won the title last season. Heckingbottom has only achieved when he has a better squad than the teams he is up against. Bit like our Darren.

If it was going to be PH, surely a deal would more or less have already been sorted and be ready to go Sat. Makes me think it isn't him. Might be recalling things incorrectly, but didn't Moore take a while too despite him being the only man for the job? Warnock left Thursday 21st Sept. Moore appointed Friday 22nd I think. Difference being Warnock stayed on for the Rotherham and Stoke games. With all the speculation and apparent meetings with PH, I would have thought wheels were in motion and contracts ready to sign for when the trigger was pulled.

I'm confused why everyone thinks that heckingbottom is likely but cooper isn't?
I thought Heckingbottom was doing well with what he had, cooper was doing ok but had vast resources.

So a new manager has signed a contract but we've just announced Jon Worthington is going to take charge this Saturday? Riiiight New manager is injured 🤣 Or from abroad… and the Worthington announcement is because the new man technically can’t take charge until VISA etc is taken care of. Didn’t someone mention Steffen Baumgart earlier today?

Warnock apart he’d be the best communicator as a manager we’d had since Wagner. He’s not glamorous but they got playoffs with us two years ago and went up auto last season. That's like saying Grayson and Warnock are the best 2 recent managers ignoring Robins, Powell, Cowley, Schofield, Buzz and Moore 😁😁

Heckingbottom has only achieved when he has a better squad than the teams he is up against. Bit like our Darren. Did he though? My opinion is that WBA and Norwich had stronger squads. Sheff Utd had a very good 1st 11, a lot of the time their bench was good, but nothing spectacular. He also did very well with the squad at Barnsley. Regardless of the squad, a manager still has to do the job required. The pressure is also greater, so has shown he can handle that too.

Just had an interesting conversation with Paul Heckingbottom whilst doing the school run in Barnsley. Might be worth nipping to the bookies… What did he say? "The wife's gonna have to take the kids to school from now on". Wink, wink. Sounds like it… Spoken with Town last week.

I dont want more lee clark stuff which fails to bring success but which at times sees you win 5-0 or 6-0. Maybe im old fashioned but i want us to succeed - by winning games consistently.

Odds that short now it’s hardly worth bothering 😀 Of school run happened…Perhaps that’s their point? Doesn’t say go to the bookies and put on PH does it… it’d be a good time to put money on another name rather than one 1/12 Also assuming poster knows odds Do we look daft . So I put £1 and get £12 back ?

Tbf it’s the club that keep saying attacking football. I did notice though that it was said Moore played an attacking brand of football or words to that effect, they’ve tweaked it slightly this time suggesting they want the new guy to be attack minded.Subtle difference but maybe they’ve realised that even though that maybe the goal that just like you say winning games consistently is the start point.Try to be attacking yes but just win games.A total shift in style takes time and better players anyhow.

Other half asked me what I was doing, explained what has happened with Moore.
“How many managers is that now? I lose track, they change them all the time.”

Not sure why anyone has any confidence in us getting this appointment right when it is the same people making the decision who thought Moore was the man for the job.
The bloke can't even talk properly yet somehow impressed them in an interview.
