Personally I think it would be wrong to announce a managerial appointment on the day of a game Would serve no purpose announcing a new manager just before a game...it would only unsettle the players Or give them a kick up the arse because they know the new guy is watching in the stands.

I don't think they needed a kick up the arse...just a licence to play the game positively as we can now see

I cant see them announcing a new manager till either tomorrow so he's in the stands for Saturday or even till next Monday onwards, surprised why they would do it on the day of a game but you never know with Town.

Be no announcement today or anytime soon as nothing is done or close. At least with such a thorough process it’ll give us a head start in 6 months time for the next one…

Be no announcement today or anytime soon as nothing is done or close. 2 weeks and still nothing is close. This is turning into a right shambles!

Be no announcement today or anytime soon as nothing is done or close. not really surprising as I still believe he was getting the Wednesday game due to not losing they only binned him because of all the uproar, they didn’t have a clue who they wanted after Warnock either…Moore was a rushed appointment so they don’t seem to be doing that again which is good, but if it’s true our man was Duff and him deciding to not relocate is the only reason he’s not our gaffer in concerned to who the board thought was second to him 👀

Are you wanting them to just appoint anyone? If there has been issues with our number 1 and/or 2 candidates, maybe the waiting game is better until there is new interest. Prefer that than just go and give someone who they obviously didn't want to give the job to.

But offered to take training through the week. KN didnt see the point so got rid. That came from someone in the club.

Unfortunately, just because you are diligent and search out who you think is exactly the right person for the job, doesn't mean that the appointment will be a success.

Can't help but suspect that the club have seen the reaction from the players and fans over the last two games and thought 'hang on we might be able to take our time here'
... Unfortunately I think that the weekends game will have taken so much out of them that I can't see anything other than a Sunderland win tonight (also the fact that teams will be able to work out quite quickly how to setup against us).
A loss tonight and that will put the panicj back in the process

I see quite varying opinions on this but as VLP comment was lliked by Maynard I’d assume some truth to it and if so I think we are playing a very risky game.
I get Worthy has improved performances but if he isn’t taking it for the season then we really need to act soon. I see the optimism from the performances but by the same token we have two very tough games v Sunderland and Hull. There’s a situation here where come Saturday evening we are in the bottom 3 and 4 points from safety. Then what? Someone comes in with a mountain to climb and I would argue at that point the level of candidate we can achieve would lower.
I hope of course we win them both and are 8 points clear of it all but I think we are playing a very risky game.
Do any of the genuine ITK have an idea of the delay is because we are being single minded and perusing exceptional candidates or are we just being amateur about it?

Take no notice.
The people moaning that it's taking too long, would have been moaning that it was a knee-jerk, rushed appointment, had it sorted quickly.

Is it just me or is the betting market for this really weird. Looks like Duff in a one horse race as far as they're concerned.
I guess it's either Duff or literally nobody is giving anything away which is unusual you'd think?
I guess the other option is it's a complete wildcard...a bit like fotheringham was!

A loss tonight and that will put the panicj back in the process I see it differently. We have built some momentum in performance and are playing in front of a home crowd. I’d say it’s easy to identify how to set up against Sunderland. Stop the running of the likes of Clarke and Bellingham and impose ourselves on them. Can’t see anything other than a home win.

Target number uno has said no, or so I’m told. So now it’s back to the drawing board and whilst Worthy is doing an ok job I think they are just biding their time and seeing what tonight and Saturday brings. I could be wrong as it’s second hand information.
