I think Nagles silence regarding the matter, not even a little tweet about it says something. Now i am going down the route of the process isn't complete and he isn't worried and they will get the person they want. Maybe due to the complete and utter mess the last recuritment was, they are doing things diffferently so taking longeror what seems longer. To ensure that or try to ensure we don't end up having to sack another one within like 5 minutes of them arriving.

Can't help but suspect that the club have seen the reaction from the players and fans over the last two games and thought 'hang on we might be able to take our time here' ... Unfortunately I think that the weekends game will have taken so much out of them that I can't see anything other than a Sunderland win tonight (also the fact that teams will be able to work out quite quickly how to setup against us). A loss tonight and that will put the panicj back in the process Would seem a bit unprofessional to start the recruitment process and then do a complete u turn. Just seems to me there's perhaps loose end to tie up or they didn't get who they wanted. Maybe Duff is their choice but the relocation is a deal breaker and they're still looking whilst hoping Worthy can pick up points. Risky strategy either way with two potentially winnable games coming up. Having said that what's the wisdom in bringing in another new voice right before two winnable games. Very tricky situation.

I did hear a theory that they all needed more fitness but Moore couldn't push their fitness mid season and that he needed a preseason Players never seem to be fit enough when a manager takes over. It's in the new manager guidebook - say the players aren't fit enough - buys you time early doors and makes it all look like the last guy was a clown. Thankfully, whoever comes in does not have to convince anyone Darren Moore was a clown here.

Personally I think it would be wrong to announce a managerial appointment on the day of a game Disagree. Announce it, say he's here tonight, give everyone a lift.

It would appear powers that be are playing a waiting game here, leaving jw to hustle through see how it pans out hoping they can pick up points enough to keep our head above the water line, in mean time try find a suitable candidate to sift the dregs of another shit season. Those few itk are of same notion it looks,ie first choice rejected us maybe 2nd and 3rd too ,now we are back to drawing board , worst time in a season to be looking for a new manager agreed, its all a risk as many say whoever we eventually find, but it doesnt have a good feel about it or how it is being conducted,so much for little black books, and years of mls soccer experience.

I see quite varying opinions on this but as VLP comment was lliked by Maynard I’d assume some truth to it and if so I think we are playing a very risky game. I get Worthy has improved performances but if he isn’t taking it for the season then we really need to act soon. I see the optimism from the performances but by the same token we have two very tough games v Sunderland and Hull. There’s a situation here where come Saturday evening we are in the bottom 3 and 4 points from safety. Then what? Someone comes in with a mountain to climb and I would argue at that point the level of candidate we can achieve would lower. I hope of course we win them both and are 8 points clear of it all but I think we are playing a very risky game. Do any of the genuine ITK have an idea of the delay is because we are being single minded and perusing exceptional candidates or are we just being amateur about it? Target number uno has said no, or so I’m told. So now it’s back to the drawing board and whilst Worthy is doing an ok job I think they are just biding their time and seeing what tonight and Saturday brings. I could be wrong as it’s second hand information. So would this #1 target be somebody who has applied and then when offered changed their mind? What would cause this, as they applied? You could argue it may be Duff and his preference to stay living in Cheltenham has made him decide not to go with our instance on him moving. Or is it somebody else who applied but after speaking to the club doesnt like our plan? OR is it somebody who we have targeted but they didnt apply so just told us not interested. My shambles comment in my previous post is more bore out of impatience. I obviously want the right appointment, but I want it to be soon so we can plan properly and give ourselves a proper fighting chance of staying up.

I think part of the problem is the ask for immediate impact and long term strategy - I have said it before the two things could be wholly incompatible. We also don't really know that the ongoing identity and strategy actually is, "progressive attacking football" are exciting words that actually say little. We are hoping that JW can excavate wins which isn't ideal but it is where we are.

Be no announcement today or anytime soon as nothing is done or close. Thanks for an update. I’m ok with this, next 2 are toughies no doubt but Saturday’s performance has really put some hope back in me. If JW can get minimum 4 points, it’ll buy us a little more time.

Or give them a kick up the arse because they know the new guy is watching in the stands. I don't think they needed a kick up the arse...just a licence to play the game positively as we can now see I dunno, shipping 5 goals in 45mins would suggest the defence need a bit of a kick up the arse....

Worthy's not the guy: 2-0 up away from home and you tighten up. Ten behind the ball and get 3 points instead of this 'run your hearts out lads and we'll look good on the telly' and blow the lead away. Crazy management.

Half time. Terry the Terrier makes his way to the centre circle. Ryan Schofield walks out of the tunnel dressed like Shaggy from Scooby Doo. He reaches Terry and whips off his puppet head…revealing Will Still who waves at all 4 corners of the ground before sitting on the bench for the second half.
That’s showbiz.

They are 6th and acting like he has them 19th. They spent £3.1m in the summer and made £27.35m according to transfermarkt, but seem to think they have a divine right to romp this league.

I agree, did it when I played/managed in the local leagues & nine times out ten we got the points or the trophy on a couple of occasions, sit deep with a hit them on the break options.....Hopefully tonight if in a similar position we will hold out & secure the points

In fairness Saints scored 2 in 2 at the start of the second half. This is on the players not JW. Plus one of them was a worldie. And then their third was an OG that we could do little about. goals 4 & 5 were from a class side (for this level) applying late pressure and getting their rewards.

Is it just me or is the betting market for this really weird. Looks like Duff in a one horse race as far as they're concerned. I guess it's either Duff or literally nobody is giving anything away which is unusual you'd think? I guess the other option is it's a complete wildcard...a bit like fotheringham was! The odds are just based on what money has been placed. My guess is very little money has gone on this market as very little concrete info has come out. Heckingbottom was the intial favourtie as there were a few whispers before Moore went that he was in the frame. Teamtalk ran a story about Eustace and he went to favourite, then Nixon has run a couple of stories on Duff so money has gone on him. That's why the odds are as they are. How little they are moving probably shows two things, firstly how little is leaking out, but also perhaps how little has been decided.

Plus the 1st is unlucky as it takes a slight deflection from Lees. Otherwise its straight at Nichols hands for a save.

To be fair nothing we could have done about their first goal. Easy to say that it was crazy management but I got more enjoyment out of that game than most games this season. If we’d stick 10 behind the ball it would likely have been a matter of time until we conceded anyway, taking the game to them was far better. An absolute beauty in to the top corner, an own goal, and tiring legs against some fast and strong subs did for us.

We also don't really know that the ongoing identity and strategy actually is, "progressive attacking football" are exciting words that actually say little. We are hoping that JW can excavate wins which isn't ideal but it is where we are. Or maybe nobody has got the balls to take us on in our current predicament? Or see us as an attractive "opportunity". I go back to my, only, concern with the Nagle era: lots of positive words, which I welcome, but less detail on the how. e.g. If you are Steve Cooper (I use him as a "high profile" out of work manager who has been prof-erred as an ideal candidate, by some) it is true you might want something with a greater profile (assuming he is still ambitious) but to what extent could you attract him with the opportunity of where he could make something "more high profile" out of the Town job. Many people have shared a concern about Duff, but does he also see Town as an opportunity? If he did, and the reports are true, then relocation surely would be significantly less of an issue? Irrespective of our current on-field challenges are we a sufficiently attractive "project"? It isn't an unfair question to ask if we are attracting candidates or having to pursue/persuade people to consider the job. The ideal is obviously the former.
