Is worthy getting the job permanently or till end of the season? I love him but he isn’t the right man at this stage Neither as far as we know. Bookies just realised he’s looking after another game and shortening the odds accordingly. Agree I’d rather an appointment but as someone has already said if it’s 3rd or 4th choice would we rather wait for the right appointment. In the summer. I imagine that’s what KN is weighing up.

Remember that was a load that went on a bus walked out after 3rd goal to go pub they were shut so stuck on bus for rest of game Always hated them proper bogey team Hadn’t that pub been burnt down by Town fans earlier that day? That was a bad day. The pub burning was post drubbing I think.

It begs the question if true. Why are our targeted individual(s) turning us down? (Potential relegation?) Been pessimistic I think we will be relegated unless Worthy can get these players to perform week in week out. Given prime targets aren't interested I'd give Jon the extended interim role & see how it pans out. With assurances he retains his former role. Get this confirmed & the message is Staff, players & most importantly the fans. We are in this together & let's try & secure safety. There is evidence of togetherness & some fight since Moore left. So no more bad decisions let's go for it & re-evaluate when we know our destiny. Good post but I think we're being a lot more careful this time and surely that's a good thing? Maybe we are turning down targeted individuals following conversations/interviews with them

If appointed until the end of the season, all he has to do, is to do as well as Moore did. That's not true. Moore averaged 0.9 points a game. If we get that over the next 15 games we'll end on around 45 points. It could be enough, but it's by no means certain. We got 20 points from our last 9 matches last season, extreme example maybe, but we can't just assume the 3 teams below us will continue being worse than us. You are quite correct of course. I'll rephrase. All he has to do is keep us out of the bottom 3, like Moore did.

Seems to be a lot who think that, I don't think we were dull under Carlos. Yes, it wasn't quite the "no limits" all guns blazing we got under Wagner but we were far more effective and even managed to finish with a positive goal difference. Wagnerball in the promotion season was thrilling, but I was constantly waiting for him to get "found out". Looking at his performances at every club since including Norwich currently, I think he has been found out now. I keep seeing this rhetoric that Wagner is failing at Norwich.. he had a rocky start but they are currently in the playoffs. Exactly, very well placed for a return to the top flight. Don't spoil if for the critical thinkers on here though who like to convince themselves, for some perverse reason, that he's rubbish Farke struggled there to start with, Dean Smith got the boot before Wagner. I know they're not top of the table where they think they belong but I don't think he can be classed as a failure at Norwich just yet!

He won't last there, even if he gets them promoted. Delia & Co will without doubt go for someone like Cooper or better.
We could do a lot worse than tapping Wagner on the shoulder right now, in fact, we should have done it last year.
No doubt some of you will be wailing and gnashing your teeth at my comment, but he's once again proving his value in the Championship, even if not at the very highest levels in England and Europe.

I keep seeing this rhetoric that Wagner is failing at Norwich.. he had a rocky start but they are currently in the playoffs. It’s been a bit up and down for Dave but the bottom line for Norwich is play offs so he is meeting the expectation required. Class act is Mr Wagner. He recorded a lovely video message for Ms Houghs farewell shindig last night apparently.

Feels like the longest managerial search we’ve ever had, normally we are pretty quick. Even clueless Daz has managed to get another job since getting the elbow. Ternent to Clark took 5 weeks.

It would be 1/20 if it was a shoo in, everyone wants to post it on datm but nobodys putting there money where there mouth is. It's got a chance at 7/4 as he's the caretaker but if it was a sealed deal it would be a lot shorter and they would close the book.

I’ve just got abit of 2nd hand information on the managerial search, not who it is but who we have spoken to 👀 I’m not putting it on here tho to get shot down by all the in the know police. I’ll keep it to myself instead. Worthy’s odds have really shortened which tells me Skybet don’t have a scooby doo either What was the point of this post? I could tell you the point of his post, but I’m not putting it on here to get shot down.

Someone on here thought that they weren't considering Duff because he wouldn't relocate. He didn't do this when he had success at Barnsley, so what's the problem.

Could say the same about some of ours that weren't happy with Carlos finishing third. That season I came down to the ground believing we could get three points in every single game. Yes, some of the tiki-taka was a bit frustrating at times but we were a very effective unit to the point that I thought we'd win the play-off final at Wembley fairly easily. I can understand people being pissed off at Corberan for the way he left us, but grumbling about the quality of the football is a bit rich in my opinion. If you based your opinion solely on DATM you'd think he was the Spanish Sam Allardyce. As always, your mileage may vary.

Skybet says: "Temporary or caretaker managers in charge for 10 competitive games will be deemed permanent and settled as a winner. Others on request."
JW has already done 3 tonight and the search continues... that could have an impact on odds, so that they don't lose money if that appointment happened.

Give it worthy till the end of the season. 🙌🙌 If he can be persuaded... If I was him I wouldn’t go near it. And I understand why. Job for life almost as academy coach. Take the first team job and could be unemployed by May.

I personally worry that if JW is giving role full time until end of the season or if the club were even remotely thinking long term, then if it doesn't work out, we lose him, and his hard work within the academy setup. If that was assured for him, I'd feel confident til end of the season.
It's hard to refuse wanting Worthy until end of season, if we keep putting those type of performances in, and dare I say it for the most part results.
I'll say this. JW has shown we actually have a half decent team too! The urgency, intensity, high press and focus on willingness to get forward and being brave enough to take chances. If we we can stay injury free, and if we were able to keep hold of our best players etc, I do try and wonder if with a good summer with solid investment and recruitment, we could (based on the last 3 performances and efforts), be up there next season.
Worthy, if trusted to guide us for a few more games and/or until the end of the season. I hope the club are continuing the new managerial search process aggressively, and if it was needing time (eg starting in the summer) providing we keep performing the way we do. Then I prey we have a pre contract agreement in place with the new gaffer of some sort.
One thing for sure for me though, I love the way we're approaching games at the minute, and I'd want the club to make sure the new manager continues with this philosophy for the most part.
Keep it up Worthy lad, bringing pride back to Town.

The first priority is to retain our Championship status, it has to be. Last night showed that JW, Russell and Tonge might just be able to do that, keep playing like that and you have to say it is more likely.
JW may have bought the decision makers some time to reflect and represent the Huddersfield Town project to candidates. Where we are is still precarious but we have a bit more hope now.
Saturday is a big game again. It can go a long way to cementing confidence in the immediate term prospects under JW. Come through that test and the case for staying as we are until May gets stronger.
In the long term we need the club to move forward and be looking upwards. We also need a plan that supports that. Safety in the league gives Mr Nagle the breathing space to reflect and really lead in a positive direction.
