Voted for Steve cooper. Don’t fancy eustace tbh. Won 3 in a row to get them to 6th if I’m correct but the football wasn’t the best and fairly agricultural but am willing to be corrected. Just some established patterns and passing and moving please. Let’s see some progress.

Think Cooper will be looking for a Premier League position and also think Town will have a replacement lined up before Q P R match
Cant see anybody on the out of work merrygoround that could do a job for us and need to be looking elsewhere

Please clarify if your asking who we want to be the manager or who we think will get it?

Cooper won't get another Premier league gig...if he sees that kev is willing to spend money then why not I would take NW before anyone though Strongly rumoured to be next in line at Crystal Palace. Even if he doesn't get that gig, you'd expect him to get a job bottom end PL, top end Champ. His stock is far too high to be plying his trade at a club that looks likely to be in Lg1 next season. From Man Utd to Mansfield in 12 months? I can't see him going for that.

Well, yes. I certainly hope we've got someone in place before we play QPR again!

Bit concerned that Heckingbottom and Cooper will have the same failings as Moore. They did well with significantly better squads than the teams they were competing with, both looked less convincing when they were in our position, having to get more from less. They both look good because of where they took over those teams and the transformation they brought, but both teams were underperforming with the talent available & budget according to bookies and pundits. We are about where most people think we should be and were one of the fav's for relegation before the season started.
I think we need a manger like Mowbray or Warnock that can get players to play better than we think they can. Warnock did that last year with Koroma, Hungbo, Ward, Rudoni, Ruffles. I think Cooper and Heckingbottom have a track record for getting players to play as well as people think they should, not better.

I’m just as worried about the next appointment as I was about DM. I just hope we have done our homework and planned this properly but I have a feeling that KN just wanted to please the fans and it’s going to be a fairly uninspired appointment that might or might not be any better than what we had. Hope I’m wrong and let’s be honest it has to be better - doesn’t it ?

Just got to hope they know they can't just appoint another dull man with dull football. The fans need something they can get behind and if you keep mentioning attacking football you can't then go and appoint a heckingbottom or rowett etc.

Just had an interesting conversation with Paul Heckingbottom whilst doing the school run in Barnsley.
Might be worth nipping to the bookies…

Interesting with worthy taking the Wednesday game you’d have thought if it was an out of work manager over here they’d be able to come straight in and take it, do we think it leans more towards a manager in work or a foreign appointment.

You'll be happy with Michael duff then. Of all the realistic options, this one looks to me to be the best bet. Done a sterling job at Cheltenham, then did a great job at Barnsley. Crap at Swansea, but a strange appointment for them given the style of play they're geared up to. Probably worth another chance at this level & if he doesn't manage to save us from the drop, he knows Lg1 inside out & it would be difficult to make a better appointment to get us back up. Note - I said realistic. As much as I'd love to be proven wrong about our chances of getting Cooper, Still, Hassenhuttl, it ain't happening. Rapp &/or Hurzeler would be definitely worth sounding out & may drop down a bit to get their foot in the door in English football. Would be a coup to get either of them and I don't like our chances, but if you don't ask, you don't get. I would hope we're at least sounding them out. Realistically though, I think it's going to be a merry-go-round appointment. When we were in a position to appoint from a position of strength in September we went for Darren Moore. We're no longer appointing from a position of strength. We need to pick from those available now. That's likely to be Nigel Pearson, Michael Duff or Paul Heckingbottom. Maybe at a push, Slaven Bilic. That sort of profile. Duff, or maybe Pearson would be my choice. Neither are particularly exciting, but of all the realistic options they seem most sensible.
