The Accrington match was a nightmare for me all round. I queued at the ticket office for tickets and they sold the last one to the person in front of me in the queue. Not content with watching on TV, the next day I drove to Accrington to get a ticket in the home end. They were aware that Huddersfield fans might try this, but living in Rochdale at the time, I showed my driving licence and claimed I was a Rochdale fan but my Dad supported Accrington (thereby avoiding any Accrington related questions). Come the day of the match I was suffering badly with flu, but still went. I think you could just about see me on the TV coverage slowly walking to the exits following the goal as all around me went wild. Horrible Think we've all had away games that are as much fun as that. As a 16 year old I got absolutely trolleyed at my mates house party on Peach schnapps ..think it was New Years eve...somehow got up the next morning after an hour or two in bed with the worst hangover Ive ever had to this day. Got myself to Leeds Road to get the coach to Luton for an FA cup match. Vommitted periodically all the way there in a plastic bag. Struggled through the game where Brian Laws got stupidly sent off and we lost 2-0, and then felt like shit all the way home again. Absolutely awful day out in every way. Lot of unnecessary detail in that Captain. You should have just said "I once went to Luton" That would have gained the required level of sympathy.

Both Worthy and Matty’s comments hint that despite our perilous situation that we find ourselves in, Darren had us playing with the handbrake on.

How refreshing it was to hear Worthy, not just saying all the right things tactically, but with a load of enthusiasm and as a fan. Top bloke. Interested to see how the players respond.

Got to remember though, go back a year and Chicho's press conference pre Wigan was brilliant, I was sure we'd get a massive reaction from the players, and what followed was possibly the worst performance of the season. Hopefully a different story tomorrow.

Wow what a presser. He was calm, collected, positive and you can just tell that the players are on board.
I'm getting Peter Jackson vibes with him.

Last season the players were still reeling from the playoff final, the awful start, and The Mark Fotheringham Experience, so their confidence was shot to pieces. I don't get that sense this time- while Moore was too negative, the team was working hard, and hopefully a change of approach will come more easily. It's still a massive ask with our record over the last half a season

Said it before but I always try to guess how good a manager someone will be by how charismatic, articulate and intelligent they come across in interviews.
I would bet that he will make a great manager one day.

Very impressive press conference! Means nothing of course as we saw with Chico! Would be great if they could get a result from him though and will be interesting to see how we look with a bit more attacking intent. Obviously the other team might have something to say about that but the squad is starting to look a lot better so they should be capable of getting on the front foot, pressing and having a decent amount of the ball.
Really looking forward to tomorrow.

Articulate, passionate, answered the questions directly. Did anyone else notice Matty P’s last words were part and parcel. And then he smirked. I reckon there’s been some jokes at Moore’s expense there.

I was at that game which I think was the last time Laws played for us before being sold to Middlesbrough - it was the fourth round of the FA cup so later in January. I remember it clearly as we were in an open end and held back after the match as was the way at the time. Despite having won Luton supporters thought it appropriate to throw coins into the open end as they filed past. I got hit on the head and cut, the only time I've been hurt at a football match.

What I can tell you there was a whole lot more errs and erms from Worthy. But, because he's one of our own, he's from Yorkshire we turn a blind eye to it. same type of shit of shit we gave Carlos, and even Buzz. We really go out of our way so to speak to bring others down who aren't local to us, different nationality, and dare I say it, maybe borderline racist. Just calling an apple an apple, don't shoot me down on my opinion. What I do think and liked from the presser was it did show was there was definitely a lack of belief in the DM setup for sure. "Shackles off", "Change in mentality", "the approach" likewise with Pearson presser. I am looking forward to us being aggressive and on the front foot though.

Let’s be right, it’s a free hit for him, so, why wouldn’t he give this appearance? Although self inflicted, the pressure on Moore was rising by the game recently, and would be appropriately shown in training.
JW knows that even a heavy defeat would be put down to Moore’s methods, but a narrow win will be down to JW’s happier approach. Therm’s the breaks, but JW’s attitude yesterday would be the same as anyone else in that position - temporary charge, sure of your old job within the club, nothing to lose.

You don’t, so labelling folk as racist who happen to prefer one persons pre match press conference to another is pathetic. Absolutely ridiculous comment and embarrassing.

"Shackles off", "Change in mentality", "the approach" likewise with Pearson presser. I am looking forward to us being aggressive and on the front foot though. Absolute rubbish. It's the content of what he was saying, the fact that he was so excited to be managing the club that he's having to go on the treadmill before training to let off some steam. You're saying he spoke no differently to Moore, apart from the fundamental differences in his approach that you mentioned yourself. That's what we're listening out for. The line about racism is needlessly provocative and does a disservice to everyone involved. This is coming from a committed and proud anti racist. Moore just wasn't a good public speaker in his pressers. From what I can remember, Chris Powell was much better, so I don't think it's got a thing to do with xenophobia or race. Our most popular manager in recent history was our first ever manager from outside the British Isles, who happens to be of mixed German and Thai heritage. And we liked him straight away for the same reasons we liked how Worthington spoke yesterday.
