Brodie is one of our best players. To suggest otherwise is idiocy. I think he is a good young player with a good attitude. Dunno why he seems to get so much stick. Can cover a few positions as well.

NI squad named this morning (noon) & they seem to think BS will be in it, if not we will know before Rotherham PC (this aft?) he will miss the game this weekend......Regardless I think we will see a different three on Saturday or a switch with Lees who went left when BS went off last week.

I find it amazing that a lad can be in football for so many years, turn professional and yet still can only kick with one foot... It's not a disability, he can learn to be as good with either foot..just takes practice then you don't need to keep dithering around tying to get it on 'your best foot'.. I only played at district league level but taught myself to kick with either foot by continually practicing ..so why can't he as a full time professional ? it's a lame excuse tbh..

One of the things my granddad always used to bemoan about modern footballers. Told me a tale about one manager (can't remember who, Clough maybe) MAKING players use their weaker foot by immobilising their strong foot somehow. "Your left foot isn't just for bloody standing on" was quite a common utterance when watching MOTD.

That Messi lad would have been a great player if he'd used his right more. Almost every single top player in the world has had a 'preferred' foot which they use massively more than their weaker foot. If only they'd bobbed down to your district team - football would have been on a whole higher level today 😉.

TBF I'm pretty sure Messi uses his "wrong" foot some of the time, usually with some measure of skill. Myself (and probably detox) are on about those that can't even play a simple pass** or trap the ball with their "other" foot and it's just there to stand on. ** Town players can't seem to do it with either foot

My District League team were pretty crap tbh.....but I think I was more alluding to the 'inability' to use the weaker foot at all, rather than having a 'preferred foot' which suggests he could still use the other foot ? (does that make any sense....?)

As a football mad kid in the late 60s/early 70s, I always remember the advice to wear a slipper on your stronger foot when practicing. Didn’t do me any good though - I was shit with either foot.

I think with BS he looks totally uncomfortable on the left at the back, further up the pitch (like he was filling in last season) you know if you make a mistake then hopefully the left sided defender will mop it up for you......Don't expect naturally left/right players to be Ronnie O'Sullivan's (probably win a comp with either hand) but some basics with the other foot is not too much to ask from a professional.

Do we assume his injury isn’t that bad then?

With two bruising encounters coming up at Rotherham then Bolton we will be down to the bare bones with this soft lot...... is going on, they need toughening up, we've had players kicked from pillar to post hardly missing a game in the past.

You're aware it's not the players themselves that say to the manager "got a bit of a boo boo I think it's going to be a 4-6 week job sorry about that but I'll give you a bell in a few weeks and let you know how I'm getting on"??

They used to send Denis Law twice a day to the Town cafe, nowadays they have to have the same diet as gymnast so I'm not blaming the players as such.......Although you don't think any ever cry off? I think some do.

When i was in my youth we used to play a game called fives that was kicking a tennis ball against a wall at an angle a bit like squash with the feet but as the ball is coming off the wall at different angles you had to use both feet perfect for learning to use both feet

I think some do. I'm sure it happens, on the day of a game or the day before but if a player is out for a few weeks then I don't think they can hide that from the doctors and physios. The game is a lot faster now (almost like watching different sports when you see how quick players are now) which means more injuries because they're pushing their bodies to the limits. Sounds like bullshit because they are very much pampered but it is true. You couldn't get away with a few pints the night before a game now but that also means it's harder to get away with niggles.

I can see a few agreeing with you & quite a few not, if you consider the pitches they play on now & the fact that most tackles are blown up for (some thought 22 fouls from last Sat ref was excessive), it makes you wonder if its something else apart from 'the game is a lot faster' excuse.......Bobby Campbell would have at least two pints before kick off, night before was a skinful.

I think he is a good young player with a good attitude. Dunno why he seems to get so much stick. Can cover a few positions as well. Have you not watched any of our games this season? I have sympathy for the lad as he is being played out of position but he's been awful. I'll back him all the way as I know most town fans throw youngsters under bus and players like Pearson and Lees and Hogg get admired for doing F All . Young lad great potential but not a CB he is a RB if you're not gonna play him there loan him out

I have sympathy for the lad as he is being played out of position but he's been awful. That's the problem. Players are typically chosen because of their ability to play in a specif position, or two. I cannot comprehend the modern manager tendency to ask them to play out of position. It's totally incompatible, 99 out of 100 times, for a left footer to play on the right, and vice versa. It's wishful thinking.

Picked up a fifth yellow card in the seven games he's featured with four in the last fortnight since returning from injury, 3 bookings in the recent home games all coming in stoppage time.
He will now cop a fine & banned for one game (Tuesday won't count), BS needs to try go few now without any cautions which is easier said than done, but both the Northampton & Blackpool games were all but over when he was booked.....Five more before cut off (37th game) will incur a bigger fine & a two match ban.
