Please stop calling us Huddy Why? It's Scottish vernacular and as has been argued many times on here westislandterrier can call us what the hell he likes with the amount of money he pumps into the club, including travelling down a couple of times a season. Leave him the fuck alone. In fact, from now on I'll be calling us the same, if only to piss people off who keep telling him to stop it. Huddy Town Will Fucking Rise Again!!!! Up the Huddy👍

The size of club (ie how successful you are, how many supporters you can count) isn't as important as how you perceive yourself. For too long, in my opinion anyway, we have retreated to a mindset that "we shouldn't accept better", "be grateful" for any semblance of success we have. It is that "moment in time" mindset that doesn't help, once again in my view, our ability to change the narrative and attitude around and about the club.
On one hand we are blessed not to be an entitled bunch, very seldom do you hear that appalling "we should be beating teams like...." but by the same token we all to easily fall back into "what more should we expect".
I have posted it before on many occasions that our club has significant potential. It is potential we fail to realise. To be equally fair there are a significant number of clubs who would argue the same. If Mr Nagle achieves one thing in his time as our owner/steward I hope it is that he changes the way football and ourselves see our club. If he can change the narrative to believing in, and (hopefully) delivering against, that potential he'll have done a fine job.
As for tomorrows game in terms of team strength, budget and current form tomorrow is indeed a mighty ask. That is a fact based on where we are today. If we got any sort of a result it would be primarily something that helps us this season, the pleasure of who we did that against is secondary, albeit it would be very enjoyable.

Spot on assessment imho - all this "plucky underdog" guff gets right on my pipes. By all means condemn the chesties/mahoosive for their "we are considerably bigger and better than everyone" nonsense but lets stop this acceptance of mediocrity here - with the right backing and a concerted spell of success this clubs potential could be realised - in the last 50 years EVERY time we have had some success we sell off players / dont invest in infrastructure and building the club and we end up back at square one. Thats the biggest failing of what was a reasonably successful Hoyle tenure - hopefully KN can build hope/expectation and excitement..............if he does we will all be delighted. Its only 6/7 yrs since our home atmosphere was lauded as one of if not the best in the prem.......................time to rekindle it.

If you get bothered by how somebody refers to our club in terms of size then the problem is your's - either you're overthinking the impact of such talk or you get bothered too easily. Personally, I couldn't give a monkeys.

Its only 6/7 yrs since our home atmosphere was lauded as one of if not the best in the prem.......................time to rekindle it. Think thats unavoidable. Other than maybe 2 or 3 clubs, every club has no option but to sell off their better players when they have success...mainly because those players want and demand to be sold off. Look at Brighton and how many of their best players theyve sold on over the last few seasons. What sorts the wheat from the chuff is how you re-invest that money, and brighten are a great example of a club that does that extremely well.

Are L***s a little club? Our records are virtually the same and as stated above when we won the league there was no European Cups to go for. They've done significantly more than us in living memory, so it doesn't apply. Football fans don't look further back than 20 or 30 years and, in that time, they wipe the floor with our achievements. They've had a league 1 promotion and a championship promotion in the last 30 years. We've had a league 2 promotion, 2 league 1 promotions and a championship promotion 🤔

They have however won the 'We fill our ground more often than you' and the 'we get bigger home and away followings' trophy for last last god knows how many years don't forget!!

Their average attendance is double ours yet the population of Leeds is about 4 times that of Huddersfield so tell anyone that says that to shove that fact where the sun don't shine

Why anyone can say they’ve been successful in the last 30 years is crazy. Imagine now we or any other Yorkshire club had the money they’ve had or the following they’d consider the last 30 years pretty unsuccessful.
