Carlos is absolutely top class, gets the very best from not a lot. Unfortunately our owner at the time couldn't be arsed supporting him. If we go down the problem lays firmly at Hoyle's door to start with and Nagle just buried us moving Warnock to Moore. When the accounts come out, I bet we spent more that summer than the previous one. Carlos used it as an excuse. He knew he couldn't repeat what was a fluke season. Realised I quoted the wrong post with my earlier reply to impact. This was the one I meant to quote with this reply: What is it with Town fans? Wagner and Corberan oversaw by far our most successful seasons since the early 70s, yet they get little credit from some fans. Yet other managers, who achieved far less, are viewed far more favourably. I genuinely can't my head around it.

It was obvious we would go hell for leather in the 1st half. West Brom simply rope-a-doped us, let us burn ourselves out and picked us off in the 2nd half. Our lack of technical ability means we have very little game management and looked utterly lost when they upped the intensity. So their plan was to go 1-0 down at half time? We were better in the first half and after a rollocking they came out of the traps quickly. We needed to ride out that spell but they scored an offside goal, we missed a great chance and mentally fell apart. I’d suggest their plan was to contain us and try play in the break. Keep men behind the ball and let us run ourselves ragged. Second half, they wanted to play higher up the pitch and be far more on the front foot.

Just back
Said at half time WB we’re not awake
We know Corberan well, he was going to change it up and they would be switched on full
We came out unprepared , should have Ben ready to grind out a 1-0
AB got that wrong

Convinced equaliser offside was nearly inline with it. Linesman was dire all game. Lees at fault with 2nd fucking about by corner flag when should have got rid. Nicholls looked nervous distribution not good. So on to Rotherham. Correct - offside I think the whole stadium knew it bar the lino who went in their favour, wrongly.

The squad is awful, anyone who is saying it’s a mid-table team is off their head. We can stay up, I’m sure of it. Huge clearout in the Summer. Love Pearson and the likes but we need to improve now. Breitenreiter will know what needs to be done. Exactly. Whichever division we need a big clearout. Too many of these lads put in the exact same performance against Coventry last year. The culture needs to change. Pearson has been great at times but his defending for the 4th was horrendous.

Right. The season starts now! All of our remaining games are winnable. Forget everything that's gone before. We can still do this. Today's game was winnable. West Brom were shocking first half. Was laughing to myself when their fans were singing 'Wolverhampton we're coming for you'. If they go up they'll do no better than Burnley and Sheff U this season. 8 times now this season we've conceded 4 or more and only 6 clean sheets. We deserve to go down. Whatever happens we need to move Pearson, Lees and Hogg on. If Rudoni can't add goals to his game (and it's not as if he's missing difficult chances) then he'll be nothing more than a bottom end Championship player. All the talk of him being a PL player sometime soon is laughable.

Why did the players sit back if that wasn't the instruction? It seemed to be something that plagued Moore as well.
One of the players or a group of the players must be making the decision to sit on a lead...
That is what needs stamping out.

Well what a game of two halves, first I thought we set up well, pressed well and didn’t let them settle and deserved to go in one up but Christ the 2nd, West Brom change it up stop playing it around at the back and we just went to shit.

Initial reaction sat in my car. The manager is a clown. Now I'm back now I can elaborate. Ok we went 2-1 down to two lucky goals. We were still in it. Ok Kasumu is spent, bring Matos on. Why change the formation to 4-4-2 with Radoni and Hogg in central midfield. Gaps all over the place. The third goal was a great strike. But no one was closing him down as we were light in midfield. We go 4-1 down game over. Also due to gaps all over the place. We were under the cosh but those changes made it worse.

Ward has now missed 2 very presentable goal chances Cardiff and here today why do we keep playing him? Buggered if I know.

That switch to 4-4-2 didn't go well either did it. When will a manger realise that Pearson is not a right back. He's a bloody centre half. Stop putting him out at right back.

They're a yard behind good championship players. Rudoni simply isn't good enough for anything more than a struggling championship side. Can't finish. Doesn't assist. Not the answer to a side that apparently has premier league ambitions! Ben Wiles needs to be sold or loaned to someone in League 1 that will go for it next season like Wrexham / Charlton - even if we're in the same league as them! Legs have gone completely. Either that or the glue factory

Is it just me, or did there seem to be an abnormal number of Police around today? Or maybe more noticeable in a thinning crowd walking up towards town? It’s a Sunday = double bubble for OT. In fact the majority will have had their day off cancelled on Mother's Day in return for a shitty Wednesday some time. I suspect its to do with it kicking off couple years back. Agree it's a strange one though

My takeaways from today
Lees isn't up to it any more. We desperately need Helik and Balker together. It feels like we concede the same goal every game, ball behind the full back, Lees or Pearson too slow to get across, their player moves a yard and taps it in.
Lees should have booted it out for a throw. Go knows what he was doing.
Probably offside, utterly trash defending.
As soon as it gets hard, almost all go missing. Helik and Sorba the only ones who actually show up in difficult times.
We STILL need a fucking striker.
Burgzorg is frustrating but there's no one in the squad who can do what he does.

Well that soon turned ugly..
Didn’t see it coming at half time tbh..
They scored with every chance whilst we missed 3 one on ones with the keeper 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
Granted they were better than us but 4-1 didn’t reflect the game..
Pressure on next week now..

On another day we win that comfortably. Fell to pieces defensively for 20 minutes but we've had plenty of chances we had to score and their first 2 goals shouldn't have counted. What is it with Town fans? Wagner and Corberan oversaw by far our most successful seasons since the early 70s, yet they get little credit from some fans. Yet other managers, who achieved far less, are viewed far more favourably. I genuinely can't my head around it. Never personally met any another fans like that. People are just frustrated and defensive when things go wrong for us.

Just want to know what matos and koroma have done wrong? Danny Ward must be superb in training. All the managers and coaches love Ward must be one hell of an arse licker , granted he’s scored some important goals but taken as a whole his career with Town is a disappointment so is the continuing faith from those who pick the team to include him and extend contracts etc

I’d imagine that he told them we were likely to face pressure so we should reserve energy and play on the counter rather than wearing ourselves out pressing them. Makes sense really, we can be good on the counter, obviously doesn’t make much sense with hindsight though.

1st half we were very good pressing but should have taken at least one more of the chances they presented us pissing about at the back.
You just knew that, being the excellent tactician Carlos is, he would send WBA out with different ways to combat us. Within 3 minutes of the 2nd half they had created more than the entire 1st half, yes, the 1st goal was offside but they were all over us by that time & it was only a matter of time.
We have a team that battles hard but struggles when we win the ball back, we just can't keep possession & we waste the few chances we actually create.
There are still lots of ups & downs to come this season but we really need a win next week.

Going off todays line up, this summer we absolutely need to sign a new goalie, a new left back, at least one new centre back, a new centre midfielder to support Kas, a new winger to keep up with Sorba because Burgzorg can get fucked, a new attacking midfielder because Rudoni can fuck off, at LEAST one new striker.
I’m only keeping Spencer, Balker, Kasumu, Thomas out of all the players in the squad today.
Useless shite all over.

Maxwell might be due a game soon too, Nicholls has never really got going this season. Burgzorg has to start, need to get Matos and Kasumu together too if we want to press.

So much fight last week with ten men against a quality attack, eleven men on the field then totally folded when West Brom came at us, AB is going to have to realise what his best side is and pretty sharpish cos thats two below par performances on the bounce.

No one going to talk about how Nicholls distribution continues to cause problems?
If he isn't whacking it out of play he's either scuffing it to the opposition or putting our own players under pressure.
I guarantee it costs us atleast one goal before the end of the season as it seems to be getting worse by the game
