Let’s move on from that poor result at Cardiff….!!
Big one this, as much about getting that mentality and style back as a positive result.
Sadly I think Carlos might have a way to keep us at bay, but I’ll plump for a point…..

If you read both sets of fans comments from last night then only one team deserved all 3 points, CC said 'A lot of effort was needed in the 2nd half & it was a real battle'. We have to emulate what QPR did hopefully with a clean sheet, top six sides have struggled at JSS this season but none have left defeated......Two doubles on the cards over the next week, maybe the Warnock MM is needed, 'A week off lads if you win both', it worked well last September.

For me it feels like a improved performance but ultimately fruitless as we lose 1-0.

MASSIVE game. Win this and everyone looks forward to Rotherham as a big opportunity to get away from a couple of teams.
Lose and the Rotherham game becomes a much harder must win pressure game.

Hoping to see Matos and Hogg start and possibly Koroma. Neither burgzorg or ward did enough last night to warrant a start but then again neither did the vast majority.
Hopefully they've remembered how to pass the ball again in time for Saturday. Bizarre performance especially considering what was at stake and the opportunity. Wiles back on the bench where he seemingly belongs, looked absolutely fked but has barely played so not sure what his excuse is.

I'd be tempted to rest Spencer for this one. Not managed to complete a full 90 minutes for a while and looked really leggy last night. I'd let him have Sunday off, with a view to bringing him back for Rotherham
Nicholls
Pearson Helik Lees Headley
Kasumu Matos
Rudoni
Thomas Burgzorg Koroma
Subs
Maxwell, Balker, Jackson, Hogg, Diarra, Wiles, Ward, Jones, Radulovic

Nervous about this already. I reckon another defeat would pretty much shatter the confidence the players have built up over the last 6 weeks. Starting to doubt Breitenreiter's selections already but will just have to be patient and trust that he's learnt the right things about the squad after yesterday.

Think that’s harsh on Ward, he got us the points against Watford and without his header we don’t get the point against Leeds. No one played well last night bar Headley. I’d bench Burgzorg but start Ward personally

Why is everyone putting Burgzorg in the team.....he should never play for Town again. because he is the most likley attacking player we have to create a chance or score (note I said attacking as we all know Helik is most likley to score), he is bar far and away our most creative player if fit he has to start. Del is a massive talent and someone we should be signing up as soon as we can do we have nobody else like this in the squad. He had a bad night last night, he even said so himself but I would say everyone else also had a bad night, he was not the worst player on the pitch. Kasumus first touch was that of a sunday league player last night, sorba kept running into people, ward missed a sitter and did little else, edwards actually looks slower than pearson, bojan on my god he is not looking like a championship footballer.........

I wasn't aware scoring goals was a problem for us He,s too much of a maverick for me and you need to have an idea what kind of contribution a player is going to give you imo with only 10 games remaining and getting deeper in the shit by week Maybe used as an impact player later in games yes but starting above josh koroma no way

Main one is Matos not starting - not his best game last night but I think he's crucial to us playing on the front foot because he's so aggressive at winning the ball. Pearson at right back which doesn't play to his strengths. Koroma seemingly being unfancied, when I think he would've been quite useful last night with the type of game. And generally I thought his subs and formation changes were ineffective last night. Early days, and the only first proper setback of course, and I'm sure there's reasonable explanations for all his decisions, but they are also potentially signs of him not understanding what makes the side tick.

We do lack inspiration in midfield, our perspiration is our strength. Rudoni can provide some quality but its more winning the ball to give it to a mobile front 3 of koroma, burzog and thomas with Rudoni supporting and the legs of kasumu or matos backing up an attack. Balker back in with Helik and Spencer and headley at full backs gives us the pace to push up, make the pitch smaller and play to our strengths.

Someone was saying on Saturday that there's an agreement with Chelsea that he can't play so many minutes when there's 3 games in 7 days. Might just be a load of tosh.

Can AB outthink the professor? I hope so! The Baggies will start favourites and being the underdogs suits us. so I am opting for a Town win.

We can't be as bad as we were Wednesday and hopefully we've got that bad performance out of the way we'll put in a good one and win this.

I completely expected us to make a horlicks of Wednesday. Our record against Cardiff in general is woeful. Since returning to this division: P20, W3, D5, L12. Our away record against them: P10, W1, D1, L8. Last season was the exception, not the rule. Add to that they're having a decent season and have just picked up a bit at home.
I also completely expect to end Sunday in the bottom three. I should also add I still expect us to be fine come the end of the season.
A struggling side seemed to have been expected to become world-beaters overnight by many, who have then thrown toys out of the pram. Some complaining that the bottom 3 have now caught up with us. By the same token, we're not in bad form, despite Wednesday's result. If we take 13 points from 10 games, we'll be very close to staying up. Take 15, and we will. We've caught up the pack above us who were so distant for so long, and many of those are significantly out of form. Struggling all season might play a part in dealing with pressure - we've lived with it all season, while others suddenly might be panicking and that can transport itself into their performances.
I don't expect a win on Sunday. I think we might be edged out in a tight game. But then the run of games after than gives us a real chance to get those points on the board. Anything on Sunday is a bit of a pressure-easing bonus. We lack composure in possession and will need to make our passes count as we did against Leeds. A similar gameplan might be in order. I'm certainly not ruling the win out, but that's my expectation right now. All being well (personal circumstances might be against me here) I'll be there on Sunday roaring the team on in hope.

We did them in September and we'll do them again.
Would be even sweeter if we beat them and Hull, Norwich, Coventry and Preston gain ground on them.
