Anyone else like me feeling a really good win tomorrow? Yes...I fully expect a victory tomorrow And if we can't beat this lot then we deserve our fate Millers 1-3 Town

Whilst a defeat tomorrow certainly doesn’t relegate us, I’d fear for what it would do to the mindset of the players. It’s a must win for me for that reason alone. Rotherham are a really poor side and I’d be extremely disappointed with anything other than a win.

I'm really nervous about this one because a win would give us a badly needed boost in confidence whereas a defeat would be a massive blow to morale.

What was said about Matos? I can’t find a way to read the comments from the press conference. They used to live-tweet from it and then release an article but you now have to watch the whole thing. He hinted at; Young player… he picks the team…. Made me think that whatever his plan is Matos wasn’t “getting it” as much as the older pros. Felt his impact was good from the bench though. Think it will be more his positional sense,he covers ridiculous amounts of ground and wins the ball back lord of times but I think with Andre mentioning a plan and structure a lot in each presser maybe matos is a bit too reactive as a player rather than been in the right place positionally. That probably leads to instances where teams can get at us. With balker back and his pace maybe andre might feel that it’s less of an issue?who knows,he’s a good player matos but I guess a good coach probably sees a lot of room for improvement and things that as a fan we probably don’t pick up on. That’s not to say they can’t work on it with him and should we stay up id like it if we could have him back next season.

Fancy Town to get a comfortable 4-0 win today.
In the Rotherham end sitting on my hands when we go into a 3-0 lead afternoon after 20 minutes 🥳

Right let’s do this today town. Time for a fry up then we are setting off on the train. Few beers in Rotherham then an easy town victory 0-3 utt. 👍🍺

It doesn’t matter how we play today, we just need those three points. A scrappy nail-biting 1-0 will do at the end of the day (not great for nerves, blood pressure or goal difference).

Need to get after them early today. They are low on confidence and just want to the season to be over, a goal in the first 20 minutes probably kills the game off.

I hope the manager doesn’t think in terms of needing ‘old heads.’ I’m not sure this philosophy actually carries any weight when it comes to the games - we saw what the older heads did in the derby.

Not looking forward to the involuntary sigh my body will let out when I see Lees in the starting lineup at 2pm.
About as useful as a condom machine in the Vatican.

This time last season we were 5 points adrift going into the Millwall away game with a daunting fixture list ahead of us. This season we're 1 point adrift going into the Rotherham away game with a far less daunting set of fixtures ahead of us.
The revival needs to start today though, then André will have the international break to get some ideas across to the players.
Our lads know what it takes to pull us clear after last season.

What people tend to forget, is that apart from 2 EFL trophy games for Chelsea early this season - Matos doesn't appear to have ever played a first team game of football before he signed in-loan for us. At Norwich, his appearances seem to have been in the U18's and in the PL2 team, which I'm assuming is the same as our B team. So he's very inexperienced and he's changing position from a winger/wide attacker to a central midfield player. If you look at his details on the transfermarket website, about the only position he hasn't played is goalkeeper!

One of the games on today's Big Match Revisited was a Town visit to South Yorkshire that finished 2-2 with a late brace from Steve Kindon, an omen for today's scoreline perhaps?

If you look at his details on the transfermarket website, about the only position he hasn't played is goalkeeper! Has decent pace, good stamina, likes a challenge, looks forward first. Wants to play games.. Can be substituted later on if its about playing time etc.. Id rather we had young legs pushing the team forward at every opportunity than experienced ones dropping off and us being too deep, too quickly and staying there too long.. Him and Kasumu closing abd tackling in midfield are our best bet. Rudoni plays the forward central midfielder.

Referee Josh Smith booked Hogg within five minutes at the Riverside earlier in the season, he also added Rudoni & Burgzorg in the 1-1 draw with Boro. On his last visit to NYC he famously sent Daniel Ayala packing after 17 mins with two quick yellow cards......Rotherham went on to lose the game 2-1 to Swansea.

I think it is about the lack of experience of playing central midfield and maybe not being as disciplined positionally. Hopefully they can work on Matos in the international break because, as you point out, the Matos, Kasumu, Rudoni trio does seem to be our best midfield trio to play 'front foot' football.

It's not a must win game, as that is only when you have to win to mathematically be able to achieve your goal, however, I fear psychologically that coming away today without 3 points would be very damaging.
I think a lot depends on Rotherham's mental state: sometimes teams pick up points once they have thought it's impossible to survive as they can play without nerves, I hope they still think they can survive & feel the pressure that comes with that.

Unfortunately our experience in the team has not been strong on 'front foot football' for some time. We dont have a playmaker with or without experience and therefore graft and being able to run with the ball is what we have and should use. Rudoni in our half has limitations and he is better halfway and beyond. Its possibly dependent on starting a back 4 of headley balker, helik and spencer. We have the height, the strength and the pace from those 4 to be able to play further up the pitch, enabling the two of Matos and Kasumu to work further up and likewise Rudoni.. Thomas and Koroma can get up and down and Burgzok will have better days than cardiff or Wba.. Burgzok being there should curtail our desire at time to keep the ball for a while and then lump it up..?

Going off the presser and the team he put out tactically last week, I think this is how we will line up tomorrow: ………………..Nicholls ……….Pearson Helik Balker Spencer Kasumu Hogg Headley …….Rudoni Burgzorg Thomas Not the line up I would go for but for some reason this is what I expect. Absolutely spot on, fucking come on town!
