I think you're overestimating the squad as "bang average". It's quite clearly fucking rubbish and has been since we left the PL. Corberan polished a turd in that weird season when we could have gone up. Eventually, that lack of quality will be exposed and it unfortunately seems like this is our time to fall through the trapdoor. The warning signs have been there for years. That's the most annoying think about this season, that the club have actually learnt nothing in the last 12 months, absolutely nothing. It's just history repeating itself. It's the Huddersfield Town way. Take aim at your own foot, shoot it.

Think the low point came at the end of the first half when Thomas and Radulovic came up with their masterstroke from the free kick. Their decision to run the clock down rather than go for a second goal was so depressing. How many other clubs would have done that? Yeah absolutely stupid decision, it was clearly gonna be the last act of the 1st half, get it whipped in!

Less than 1 club would be my guess… That one is right up there in the book of stupid decisions…

Played ok,probably shaded it with exception of 15 mins or so after they scored.Midfield looked better without Hogg even if that quality is still lacking. We still struggle to string more than 3 or 4 passes together but that’s been the case for years, although we managed for our goal which Radulovic took very well. On him he looks tidy whenever we get it into his feet but lumped to his head or chest he looks useless so he will have his specific uses. Any other time of the season we would take the away point, especially if we back it up with a win Saturday.Wins are seemingly hard to come by though with none in the last 6.Difficult to put into context but in 4 of those 6 we’ve played Leeds,West Brom,Coventry and Cardiff who’ve stumbled onto largely promotion form the last 6/7 games. It’s still doable to stay up but we need to show more to do so. I imagine the Millwall game will be absolutely dreadful with two poor teams and Millwall probably setting up not to lose given a point isn’t the worst for them away from home.We just need to find a way somehow.

Their decision to run the clock down rather than go for a second goal was so depressing. How many other clubs would have done that? Pretty much a free hit, the big lads up from the back. Just put it in the box and see what happens. Even if the keeper catches it the ref is blowing for half time. Piss weak mentality to take it to the corner flag. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing when that happened. Past the 3 minutes extra time and the refs whistle for half time was imminent. He would have seen what resulted from the free kick (either a Town goal or a Stoke clearance) and then blown up 2 seconds later, like they always do. That goes right to the heart of the players mindset. Ffs. what were they thinking!?

I reckon that fk moment will be one that we talk about on here for a good while yet. It might have no bearing on our destiny this year, but it’s up there with other WTF moments when supporting Town… An utterly bizarre decision that I don’t think you would see at any level of football anywhere.

How many other clubs would have done that? screams terrified, which is infuriating considering we had Thomas on it as it had every chance of landing on a town players head for 2-0 but when you consider AB’s body language since the Leeds game I’m not surprised this lot have no belief, he looks resigned to the fact he’s not going to be here next season regardless of the division, a huge drop off from that promising interview when he arrived. He did nothing wrong yesterday but I can’t help but feel very disappointed in him after initially getting exited looking at his C.V.

Did you notice Helik came up to Sorba before the freekick and had a few words with him..maybe it was the captains' decision..?

Anyone know who the ref was at Stoke ? Clearly wasn't the scheduled Rebecca Welch as stated on the BBC website...

I didnt really notice him so suppose that might mean he had a decent game for once. cant complain about the disallowed goal from the corner. Clearly impeding the keeper whilst offside.

I thought he had an appalling game. Not disputing the disallowed goal, but other than that I think he got pretty much every call wrong.

All we can ask is for refs to be consistent, game to game preferably. He couldn’t even manage it over 90 mins. Town had a free kick in the first half and Mr Simpson was adamant we had to take it from the exact spot, twice asking the Town player to move the ball backwards. Shortly after he gave Stoke a generous free kick for either a Matos or Kasumu challenge, the ball ended up about ten yards from the offence. Stoke took it quickly from the wrong place to catch us out and you could see Simpson put his whistle to his lips to stop them. All of a sudden he just gave it an exaggerated “play on” signal with his arms.

Funny how we see things so differently. I thought the ref kept a dreadful game flowing pretty well. I can only remember the foul on Radulovic that wasn't given. Players go to ground so easily these days, it must be a nightmare for refs to pick out the genuine ones.

Make our goalkeeper or centre half take it from the exact blade of grass where the offence occurred. Let them take it where they want and nearly put someone through on goal.

Refs aren’t the main reason we are where we are, but the general level just seems shit now.
Players don’t help them of course, but the throw ins nicking 10 yards, non-dangerous free kicks being allowed to be taken yards from the offence just does my head in. Nichols took a fk on Fri, the offence was inside the area, he took the fk from 10 yds further up the pitch.
Modern football is utterly shite in its drive to become an entertainment product for TV…

That's the most annoying think about this season, that the club have actually learnt nothing in the last 12 months, absolutely nothing. It's just history repeating itself. Am sure KN has learnt a great deal to be fair - sadly, the windows mean it is hugely difficult to correct recruitment errors immediately. He doesn't strike me as a man to continue making the same errors - he clearly knows he made errors on social media - he doesn't post as much or as sensitively now and to be fair to him he has spent money in a bid to rectify the summer inertia in the transfer market which he says wasnt down to him. The club desperately now needs Breitenreiter to get enough of a tune this season to stay up and then some early activity to unify an increasingly fractured and disillusioned fan base. David Wagner was brilliant at it - the no limits mantra / the its not the size of the dog but the fight in the dog etc etc.............................it appealed to us all because it contrasted with the plucky underdog tag perpetuated by so many of our owners in recent years. KN will know it also - he will have a huge task asking for £100+ more a season for tickets in league one - hence i assume the reason the prices are still "on hold".

Agree with that & thought he ignored more of their minor contact / diving (delete as you wish) than others may have done. Compared to the Coventry ref thought he was excellent. Having seen a replay of the "offside" goal for the first time today, was Pat Jones thinking? PS Town's extended highlights didn't show the "Burgzong" incident. Given I'd REALLY struggle to say that wasn't one of the main talking points on the day, that seems a little too much like "supression of information" to me. Before anyone jumps on me, would anyone really argue that wasn't an incident they wanted to see again?

The corner was destined to a lad coming off the train and that usually means the last lad (Pearson). The keeper ain’t saving such a clean header so the interference was stupidity as we were never going to get away with it. Maybe it was a Simon Ireland move…

I swear Slapper is still in April Fool's mode with his recent posts. I quite like a ref who allows some physicality , which he did for both sides. Probably missed a few that were fouls, again for both sides, but I dont remember him getting any key decisions wrong. If that ref was 'dreadful' then you must be apoplectic at the reffing in most games!

If that ref was 'dreadful' then you must be apoplectic at the reffing in most games! The issue is consistency, as always with every official. He was no worse than many we've had lately. I'd quibble the first two bookings, both for challenges that won the ball without any real issues, and he let a bit *too much* go in terms of holding and nibbles at ankles by them, while pulling us up for the same. The free-kick from which they hit the bar, for instance - we won the ball, then clipped the lad's ankle. Free-kick. Radulovic has both feet taken from under him by a defender nowhere near the ball - nothing.

I think we're gonna struggle now. We need a miracle. To overtake the side just above us we need to make up ONE point in the next 6 games on a team that has only taken one point from their last 6 games,.. and that constitutes a 'miracle'? 5 more games. One of which against Brum. Final game will be against a promotion challenging side. Not easy.

If they've clinched automatic by the time they play us they'll be in the mood to go out on a real high and will likely give us a real thrashing. Firmly in the play-offs though they'll probably rest a few and it will give us far more of a chance; even those that are playing wont want to get injured. Get Hogg in the side snapping at their ankles and they'll soon lose interest. Even better if like us when we were keen to avoid Fulham in the play-offs they might even throw the game
