Just seen a clip on Facebook of Scott Malone on Under The Cosh. Assume the full episode will be out soon
He was talking about the bonus system that Town had for that first season in the premier league. At the start of the season players were getting £3k each per point regardless of whether they came on or not and by the end of the season it was £7k per point.
He also got £800k for staying up. No wonder we burnt through all the money so quick although you could argue it was the only way that squad were going to stay up.
He doesn't speak highly of Wagner at all

This is the guy who kicked the ball into his own face right in front of the Riverside Lower. One of my favourite Town comedy moments.

Is Jon Parkin still on that podcast?
Cannot be arsed listening to that mouthbreathing simpleton.

Cheers, you've made me dislike that long streak of piss even more than I used to. What a fucking fanny he is.

To think we tried to replace Chris Lowe, one of the best left-backs in recent years, with this wanker.

I listened to the whole thing (on Patreon) and it’s a good listen.
He didn’t like the amount of training they did. Moaned about the fact he was getting home at 7 yet the silly cun+ chose to live in Harrogate. Quite happy to sign a contract with handsome bonus’s but not happy to work for it. A few players weren’t and he talked about how the German guys couldn’t understand why some didn’t like it.
Whilst I’ve seen worse than Malone at town, the way he spoke on the podcast just kind of sums up everything we’ve got wrong since that first PL season. We’ve signed a lot of players with rank, bad, unprofessional attitudes who have very little if no care what so ever for the Football Club. And it’s still costing us dearly.

Not wishing to defend the guy but I guess other teams had similar or better bonus plans in place. It the way the greedy league works. Reward the winners, reward the losers. Reward everyone !

Looking forward to watching this but that sums up 90% of footballers on Under the Cosh. Most players they interview only care about their wage, days off and drinking. We played against Malone last week, really thin legs for a footballer.

Good episode. Seems like a decent lad. It was acknowledged by the 3 ex pros that the bonus system town used was definitely the way to motivate a squad. It wasn't the first season finance strategy that screwed us up.

We signed him because he played well against us much like we did with Junior Mendes. Both were shite signings

What an absolute pillock.
Players doing the Didier Drogba after 4 games... that would have been him as he never made a start!

Undr The Cosh is generally quite good if you ignore Parkin's bollocks.
A few ex Town have been on; Tom Cowan, Brian Horton, Lou Macari, Robbie Simpson, Iwan Roberts, Ben Thornley.

Yeah the Glen Little one is class. Robbie Blake also for Ternant stories. The guy sounds an absolute headcase. They need to get Jeppo on, he would need 3 eps!
