While I appreciate the thought, I think last Saturday saw the club lose the good will from 95% of the fan base. A full week of rallying calls from players and club staff asking fans to do our bit (like we haven't been all season anyways) to then put in a performance like we did and for a 4-0 defeat to follow was the breaking point for many. If the amount of empty seats at the final whistle weren't enough to tell you that, the 'you're not fit to wear the shirts' chants should have confirmed it. That result on Saturday was bad in terms of this season, but it could have much more severe ramifications long term which won't be changed by a free pint or a free t-shirt or whatever other gimmick you have up your sleeve. Maybe it's a free tab of LSD for every punter so we leave THINKING we were good Not sure about that Mosher, every home game seems like some kind of bad trip already!!!

Assumed it will be an announcement about the Academy re-opening. I don't know. He said ''a small token of appreciation'' so assumed it would be something more imminently affecting fans rather than the Academy (which is long-term and a huge investement) T shirt on the seat ?

Assumed it will be an announcement about the Academy re-opening. That could be possible, I mentioned on another thread that my boss' mate's son Hassan just got signed up. And he was with a number of other lads at the same time, so possibly a mass-induction/mass-trial kind of thing?

Wouldn't no words, no action be a more fitting tag line? I think there’s a typo in the tweet I think it was meant to read Just words, no actions Because that sums up every pre match and post match presser recently

Not sure that would be the sort of thing that would drive massive interest/reaction TBF. I’d have to hope it’s about ST prices, that’s the only thing that could possibly placate a disgruntled set of supporters.

There’s one thing imminent that will be announced, something we started planning shortly after KN bought the club. My guess is, regardless of what’s announced there will be some (maybe many) not too enthralled, but nothing means more to him than the supporters, so no reason not to follow through with a small token of appreciation, regardless of the future holds over the next two weeks. Take care….. Absolutely. Nothing good will come out of this season now. Just hope the club shake things up (Cartwright has done ten times worse than Bromby, at least we were skint then), back the manager (or a manager, if he’s not keen) and ruthlessly rip up this squad and build a first team of solid players over the summer. Do that and people may be prepared to listen.

At the risk of not sounding super positive (apologies in advance) is it just me or is the wheels of promoting the weekend fixture totally silent from the marketing department? Is it: - early white flag ? - saving it till Thursday then ramp it up? - or is it let the talking be done on the pitch for this one? - or are they expecting total toxic from KO (maybe not the best choice of words) from home fans so ain’t bothering Just seems very on the back of “let’s pack the JSS for these two games!” ….. yes, Swansea was awful. Yes, certain players clearly ain’t bothered, but the fat lady is only warming up…..she ain’t sang yet. It could just be a magical day all round…….thats me trying to be super positive again. Even their best promotional efforts failed to get some fans out of bed for last week to get to the game. Not really much point in trying to lift anyone before the game now as we are toast.

Thanks for sharing that. I don’t read any or many match reports any more. That report felt really old school, by a proper football journalist describing the game (with some great old school scribing), not the reports today, which seem to talk around the game as opposed to about it. Probably because it was one of the only mediums available back then. The other thing is that footnote about the attendance, our biggest since the SECOND REPLAY with Man C. There won’t be any of that drama in the FA Cup any more, thanks to the likes of Man C and their bastard owners… I was working away for this game, not too far from P’boro, so had managed to get tickets to the away leg. We were late back for this game, so I missed getting there, driving on Leeds Rd as the game was in the second half. Expectations were understandably high after the 2-2 draw and our general belief that we should have closed off the contest at home. It must have also been the case that there wasn’t a huge time lag between the 2 games? Both were evening ko’s, but I can’t remember which days? Simpler days… Monday then Thursday if I remember rightly.

That would have made sense. It would have been late Thurs home. Never back late from working away on Fridays… 😉

Don’t think there’s any news as such. I just think he wanted to tweet about the American team result on Saturday night after Town had been humiliated and so said “more on Town later”.
You get to midweek etc and the focus is all on the next game so he essentially avoids discussing Saturdays fiasco.
In this case though it’s only kicking the can down the road because things get even worse with the R word giving us the eye.

I remember back in around 2009, Ken Davy announced that there would be a big announcement regarding the Giants.
"The biggest announcement in the club's history".
So everyone was racking their brains thinking what it could be. A lot of us thought that perhaps the Giants were moving to a new stadium?
Then eventually at a match, it was revealed what the biggest announcement in the club's history was.
£99 season tickets.

It will take more than that to get me there, i wouldn't support this disgrace of a team if everybody got to choose.

Not life, or season changing, but if anybody is negative about this they should give their head a wobble.

Maybe the right thing to do but the timing is just so off. I'd say it's pretty decent timing, giving something to the fans after a piss poor season. The club simply can't win at times. All season fans have been jumping on their backs for anything they have tried to do. Even Dave Carmichael has been getting abuse, and for what? Being polite, considerate and trying to interact with the supporters? Yes the product on the pitch has been abysmal but when fans criticise every tiny thing the club tries to do its like they are trying to make a bad situation even worse. Just my thoughts

Great idea, some excellent prizes but a lovely gesture in any case.
I remember my name being read out at half time a few years ago asking me to contact the club about my exciting prize. I genuinely had no idea what it might be.... I was somewhat underwhelmed when it turned out to be a club tie!
