Danny fucking Ward leading the line and trying his utmost to look like he’s busting a gut to win the ball when really he’s trying desperately to put a player in front of him and the ball so he doesn’t receive it. Let that sink in for fucks sake.

If Lucas Joao is available on a free I’d be more than happy with him.

Harratt has played 13 minutes in League 1 this season. When, and if, Bojan is fit and Phillips comes back he would have been further down the pecking order. He is 22 and needs to be playing football. I don't think anyone on here will consider him much of a loss. When and if bojan is fit. We was trying to get a forward to strengthen the team and we've ended it one down. We needed to move those players on. We need a squad with players who are all capable of being starters. Not ideal but there you go.

It's Huddersfield Town folks and the transfer window that delivers the square root of fuck all as usual so why should we be disappointed?? Let's enjoy the ride in League 1 as we will be there for a while, good fucking luck🤣🤣🤣 Jesus, the sunshine bus must have been a double decker this time. Lay off the glue, fella.

If we'd spent anywhere near the money Birmingham have spent, then I'd be seriously concerned about what the future might hold. Spunking that sort of cash outside of the Premier League very rarely ends well. I'd say we have the second strongest squad in League 1 behind them, and their wage bill is now probably way more than double ours; which is even more staggering when you consider that last season we were both relegated from the Championship and the gap won't have been anywhere close to that. It's utter insanity, even if they get promoted (which I genuinely think they won't) they will for sure come afoul of FFP, which could see them start the season on -10 and likely straight back down here with a wage bill that wouldn't look out of place in the PL. As others have already said, they've basically signed their own suicide note.

Not signing a striker and relying on the attacking options we have may be the difference between autos and playoffs. With our awful record of injuries, it could mean a fight to make the playoffs.
Real opportunity missed for me. I think Koroma will be out highest scorer. Healy already missing another game by the sounds of it, and while Marshall looks promising, I think he will miss more than he scores. (also he hasn't got great pace, unless the Shrewsbury CB are really fast).
But I'm hoping it all falls into place and two of them have over 10 goals by Xmas.

Overall this has been a good window.
Sorba & Rudoni were never going to stay.
POSITIVES Can't believe we've kept Helik and thought Nicholls & Bojan would likely go too. Significantly strengthened our midfield with Kane, Evans & Hodge Signed 2 wing backs who look better than this level. Loaned a highly rated young centre back proven in League 1 and a young forward who's already scored 2 in 3 starts.
NEGATIVES We missed out on our main striking target - that is disappointing. I assume we'll go back in for him (or similar) in January.
All in all, a good window. It just depends on whether you focus on the positives or negatives.

So we didn’t sign Taylor. Ho hum. Try again in January, provided Luton get their ducks in a row.
In truth, I think we’re looking at the wrong type of striker. We need a striker who can hold the ball up, occupy defenders, free up space for his strike partner, and who can be an aerial threat. We should have been looking at Michael Smith, who’s proven in this division - an old-fashioned number 9. A striker to get better out of what we have.

I've hear on the grapevine that Danny Ward is growing his hair long again and may even put in a top knot.
Guaranteed to score 25 goals this season now

Completely agree, an old fashioned style hustle & bustle merchant. We have to go with what we have now starting today, just hope those playing up top knuckle down and can get us the goals. I think it’s really, really poor the club couldn’t get a striker in this window though given they’ve had 3 months to sort and that it’s been an issue going back way beyond this summer but always assuming we do now turn our attention to the free agents market, we might still pick up somebody. Simply going with what we have will not get us the goals needed and not at least trying to continue the search just won’t cut it. I could be glib and say there’s always the next window but even that’s getting boring. I dread to think once Wardy gets injured (which we all know he will) and Healey plays 4 misses 4 will happen. Helik up top as an emergency centre forward? I’ve discounted Bojan as I can’t remember the last Town player I was more disappointed with than him, absolute powder puff with the heart of whatever the opposite of a lion is.

I rate this as a 8 out of 10 window
Obviously we needed a striker but lets not forget we spent over £2m on Healy and Radulovic earlier this year and we should expect more from both of them. Ward is not a bad back up option. Masrshall clearly is a young talent and Koroma has started the season well. I would have liked Taylor but I don't see this being the same as last summer due to the January business
We're strong in all other positions and have some great quality and depth
Keeping Helik and Nicholls are two unexpected bonuses
Brum's model is crazy and we can't compete so lets focus on us
Good manager and squad so we should do well

I think we have come out of the window with a bit more strength in depth apart from the strikers, but Marshall might prove to be an astute loan signing, we just have to wait and see. Noise has been made about only signing a striker who is better than what we already have, but I would be ok with a free agent now to bolster what we already have. I am going to have to learn to try and take Danny "Warrior" Ward seriously as a League One striker, and hope he has me eating humble pie. A couple of goals today would be a good start. Onwards and upwards. UTT

Thing with the Stansfield deal (and all the rest) is they’re basically resigned to being in financial bother when they go up.
So as owners they’ve either set their money on fire with no promotion (looking doubtful), or when they do go up they’re going to be under embargo and given a points deduction surely?

Despite all the disappointment about Taylor I look at the strikers who have joined League 1 teams and can only name 3 that might have improved our team (other than the 3 on mega money at Birmingham). Mcatee, Cadamateri and Godden and two of them are like Danny Ward and the third is 19 and moving away from home for the first time.
In all other aspects this has been a very strong window.

Disappointing end to the transfer window "we haven't signed a striker" or words to that effect?

Gotta feel that Brum's strategy has likely impacted us directly and indirectly. I'm sure a few Champ clubs must've been looking at Stansfield which likely had a knock on effect at Luton. Can only assume Brum's strategy is back to back promotions. Anything else is pure financial madness
