Personally I don't believe a return to Barnsley was ever on the cards. Just a few blogs and Twitter accounts piggybacking on some typically vague 'OTK' Nixon copy.

The Beswick link is a bit worrying, but if we get the Barnsley version of Duff then judging by his record he seems a decent bet for our current situation.
Any idea what sort of football he plays?
Is he a tactician, motivator etc?

Can we assume Duff was very close in January before Shiten Reiter. appeared? No need to interview as we already had 4 months ago. question is have we solved the apparent issue with him needing to be based around Huddersfield? I’m not buying that tale. Makes no sense on both sides.

No way he's coming and not relocating, surely!? Would you relocate with how quickly we go through managers. Don't care where he lives to be fair providing we win games.

Don't care where he lives as long as he does the business. Beggars can't be choosers

You can’t realistically commute and manager a football club that’s 3 hours away. You do know a manager doesn’t just rock up on match day?

If he could start off announcing his mates Helik and Herbie Kane will be in our team next season he’d be off to an absolute flyer.

Town will probably provide a place for him. He did the exact same thing at Barnsley.

From 7:15 or so for 60-90 seconds Duff is spoken about indirectly Could be interpreted that Duff refused to move and that's a non-starter or that Duff never expressed a refusal to move. Hopefully it's the latter.

I know his time at Swansea wasn't brilliant, but they must have seen something in him to hire him.
You have to remember that Swansea have a decent record of hiring good managers. Cooper and Potter two of the more recent.

I dont think "Won't move" = drive to Cheltenham and back 6 days a week. It just means he's not prepared to uproot his wife and have his kids move school.
He'll probably stay up here most of the week on his own (Cowleys did the same) and spend downtime back home.
Not 100% ideal but not the disaster some are creating.

Hopefully it's the latter. From what I heard, and has been posted on here, Duff's bags were already packed before a certain someone overruled someone else and appointed Breitenreiter. No matter, he's here now, let's get behind him and hope he sorts us out.

Even though managers, reporters and connections to the club have said the same?

A convenient excuse for others not doing their job correctly he certainly had his hammer out this season and placed a few more nails in the lid, he didnt quite hit the final nails into it but he certainly helped "build the cofin"

I'll even let him have the main bedroom and I'll kip on the camp-bed in the spare room

Even though managers, reporters and connections to the club have said the same? I've no interest, to be honest. I just don't take too kindly to people trying to make out that Warnock was tossing it off and only had pre-season down there because he lived down there. Warnock has more-or-less always taken his teams to Cornwall for pre-season in the last 30 years and it seems to me like that fact has been lost on some of you.

Is he a tactician, motivator etc? It’s also a worry that back on February 17th, Nagle said in his diary on Twitter ‘regardless of our situation, I want our managers to be in Huddersfield Town…….. to me it’s a non starter’ That was in reference to Duff. Either Duff is moving, Nagles done a U-Turn or Duff isn’t coming.

It doesn't matter who you play in pre-season, in my opinion. It's never mattered before, it's just classic straw-clutching.

At Swansea, he used to spend 5 nights in Cheltenham and 2 in Swansea, Monday and Thursday.
I don’t think it’s a great idea given the full scale of the job needed, needs to work out what players he wants to keep, which he needs to get rid of and what replacements are needed.
