Well that's the best first press conference I've heard since Wagner. Spoke really well, sounds hungry and like he knows exactly what he's doing. Also realistic. Very encouraging. Probably the best we've heard from Cartwright also. Interested to find out who his coaching team will be. I guess they were told bit to ask about that. My thoughts exactly. He's a highly professional, focused, realistic, industrious person. Definitely got his head screwed on the right way. Seems to be a great fit for us.
He also wants to prove Swansea wrong, whilst also admiting his mistakes and learning from them, even looking at coaching in other sports. It's early days, but I a feel that he'll be the best coach / manager we've had since Wagner. BUT, we all need to STFU on the terraces if we lose a game or three, stop panicking, stop the negativity, just support him all the way. Bang on. Stop the negativity. We’re going to see a set of lads in blue and white shirts fighting like we want them to. The board want this as well so let’s back them ALL.

Was it Michael Duff or his brother Shane Duff who scored the goal that stopped us getting automatically promoted in 2004?

Giving absolutely shit players numerous chances is half the problem why we are where we are. Get High, Hudlin, Simpson, Rowe, Austerfield et al back from their failed loan spells and give them ‘another chance’ Glad you weren't around for marsden, jepson or steads 1st seasons. Remember it even took the great schindy 5 or 6 matches to come to terms with english football, bojan has played the equivalent of 4. Its a bit early to write him off Oh good lord, they were absolute bobbins at first, weren't they? Neither Jepo nor Stead were fit to lace Radulovic's boots in their first seasons. And no, I don't think Radulovic has been remotely up to the job so far. Quite ironic though, that Bojan will be trying to impress his 3rd manager and he's been here 4 months.

Whilst Spencer is out of contract next year - his age would enable us to get a fee. So even he doesn't need to be in a fire sale. Getting him on a longer contract during the season might be best though as he's the only Town player I'd bet on to go on to play in the premier league (because of his age and international experience). Definitely no need for any fire sale, my point was only that he might be the only player who realistically attracts interest where we might be pushed to sell at a lower price than we like. Not out of the question to see him in the Premier League at some point as he is young enough and already does the defensive bit well enough. Hope the club tie him down for another season and convince him 40 odd games for us is better than being part of a championship squad next season. Hes a long long way from being a good champ player never mind a prem one. Showed some promising aspects but not the best positionally and pace got him out of trouble alot. Has plenty to work with though and seemingly a decent ethic about him.

Really impressed with him. Love the fact one of the first things he said was “make no mistake about it we wanna get promoted next season “ and talking us up as a big club in this league . Finally someone within the club talking us up and aiming high. Think he’s a very good appointment.

Steve cooper, sacked by swansea, gets given a second chance and look at him!
Am i right in thinking they also sacked another boss who went on to be successful?
Long story short, Swansea are so strict with managers its unbelievable! I think we have a gem on our hands here.

Great interview, loved what I’d read about him and even more convinced after watching him talk about HTFC. Love how measured that interview was. Very impressive.
Onwards and upwards UTT

How refreshing to have a manager/head coach who can string a sentence together. Very articulate and engaging. Not thick as fuck. Superb. 👏🏻

Refreshing AB gets a pass as English isn't his first language, but it was clear with hindsight that he was completely unprepared for the challenge that faced him. Things would feel very different if we'd appointed Duff then instead (we'd probably still be a Championship club), but we are where we are. I genuinely feel we've got the right man for the job this time, touch wood.

Really impressive interview and for the tools who want substance, clearly he can only hypothesise to an extent at this moment, because he doesn’t know what personnel he has to work with.

This really feels like right man right time, this time.
Extremely impressive. To me very magnetic interview. Players are gonna follow this guy. Sounds like a total football nut and reminds me of Eddie Howe, who he played under.
Given what he’s said about the clubs vision it’s even more reason to get excited.
I think we’re at the start of something really special again now..

Yep, I agree with what's already been said. Genuinely excited to see where we go from here now. Think its the right man for the job, and a re-energized one at that.
After just one interview, this is the most positive I've felt about this season.

We’re a ‘it’s the hope that kills you’ kind of club. But I think we’re collectively sick of that bollocks and I’m actually fairly hopeful after the presser. Can’t wait to get behind Duff and any new signings. Bring on league 1

I’m quite glad that we’ve went for a fella from these shores as Andre has knocked ma confidence somewhat for another foreign guy for now...
Sounds up for it so all good, good so far anyway -
And in early as well...
I suppose the only way is up, but early signs are promising...
Interesting summer ahead for sure -
Ah well - it never ever was boring at HTAFC and probably never ever will be...
Sure we wouldn’t have it any other way - Would We ! 😊

Just come to say as a Swansea fan when we appointed Duff ,I was exited at his win ratio don't let it fool you. We had high hopes for him but after 10 games of him in charge. we couldn't work out what style of play he was trying to inforce. Also it was clear that the players, didn't buy into it or him. It was by far the worst football I had ever seen us play. Every player that was signed for Duff ended up being a crap apart from Tymon. We wasted some serious cash and wages with his additions. He was out of his depth with us. Huddersfield are a club similar size to Swansea. Don't listen to the Barnsley fans they haven't known football there since the 90s they are a small club that Duff likes. You are probably going to have the expectation of bouncing back first time. I hope you do as you lot are a proper football club with proper fans. I will revisit this thread after 10 games. I hope I am wrong but be prepared to be frustrated 😞.

Mate Roberto left for Wigan he wasn't sacked and he broke all our hearts. Back then Wigan were a bigger team that could spend more than a few hundred k on a player. So he wasn't sacked he left and was hated for years because of it. Steve Cooper messed up two play offs and then fell out with our owners. After the play off final loss to Brentford he deserved the sack. Our club is far from strict Russel Martin went 20 games without a win. The owners didn't spend in January Southampton come in for him. No one would turn that job down would they? We stick by our bosses. Under Huw Jenkins we use to get our managerial appointments right. These days we take chances on up and coming coaches. Potter , Martin , Williams. Difference is these managers all had full seasons. Martin was here for two seasons. So I don't know where you are getting your facts from mate. Duff was the worst manger we have had at our club since John Hollins, when we nearly went bust and relagated out of the football leagues. Have a look at Swansea first 10 games of the season extended highlights. Duff was the first manager sacked mid season since we have been back in the championship. I hope Duff does do well but he won't be teaching us anything. With Birmingham coming down and Wrexham coming up. League one is going to be brutal next season. Probably a harder league than the championship.

It's always a punt with anyone you employ in any walk of life but hopefully he'll be able to get in who he wants and they perform, like how it happened for Wagner back then. Like you say next year it's a competitive league.

Her father was from the Valleys too.
