At last, a manager who I can understand, articulate and humble. Wants his ream Fit, Strong mental and physical also organised. Sweat on the shirt minimum standard. He is realistic and we need to fully back him unconditionally. IMO very impressed after his presser. Good Times ahead. UTT. Oo-er, I'm not sure he should be expecting THAT from the players

He'll be living up here, but not uprooting the family - kids doing GCSEs etc. So will be going back occasionally on days off. In his words, he'll be 'all in'. Thanks bud. Was that in the pc? HTTV interview, 24 mins in:

Didn't see all the PC yesterday so was their any mention of who the new backroom staff will be? I see some Wendies fans were also singling out Chris Powell with praise on SM for his part in keeping them up........Funny how things work out sometimes, thought they were nailed on for the drop when Rohl brought him in. Why? Powell is perfect for the backroom. Just because he was 'average' as Town manager, doesn't make him a bad coach to have behind the scenes. He's been part of the England set up on and off, so clearly highly regarded within the game. I've met CP a few times since he left Town & he's very knowledgeable on the game, I was surprised Rohl chose him & thought (like others) maybe it wouldn't work out..........Luckily he was out of work for them, question is will he stay if DR moves on?

It is good to see some humour coming back onto this site. It has all been very serious for far too long. 👍

ⁿ0pyy0y606y660060660⁰y0k9pygg0000ypy6 Surely this should be in the new player thread? However, I expect you'll need to lower your expectations, we can't afford his wages.

Dont think there was no. It was an obvious question that somehow all the journalists forgot to ask him about. There was never any mention of Šarić or Kleine in the press release for AB's departure. I suspect they are technically still employed by the club while we negotiate severance agreements. That may have something to do with the lack of any announcement on their successors...

Gotta say I felt a bit "meh" re this appointment maybe because I'm sick of managers and all the circus around it But I'm more optimistic after his interview and presser comes across well, has clear direction and principles like dyche This fella won't take no shite

You never know - Duff and Kleine might even decide there is mutual interest in working together - similar age, playing careers, player profiles, coaching education etc. Kleine was never really AB's boy anyway. Wade Elliott might be a good shout as somebody Duff will look to bring in...

If Big Duffers can deliver even half of what he's said, we'll be 10x the team we were this season.

He mentioned mental health a couple of times. It will be interesting to see if that is something he works on. I’m thinking of Ben Wiles partly because I think there’s a much better player in there than we have seen. If MD can help him improve his mental approach to the game, his head dropped so often and he looked indecisive a lot of the time, it could make a real difference to our midfield.

Also Ben Jackson, who recently posted on Instagram that he has been struggling with his mental health recently. There is definitely a player in there somewhere.

I've watched both interviews and he comes across really well. As a fan I feel refreshed already listening to him, you never know, relegation could be the blessing in disguise we so needed

Sounds like a fact than an opinion. @htafc1045 I know what you mean. He has shown glimpses of being a good fullback at Championship level. But then a number of players coming up through the B team have shown glimpses (Edmonds Green, Headley) but then not kicked on. I don't know whether it is poor coaching or opposition analysis which means they don't kick on or simply the B team graduates don't have the mental fortitude to make it at League level. It might benefit Jackson being in League 1 next season or maybe he will continue this season's drift on a slow exit from the club.

He's soft, he hides, never puts a tackle in, has no positional awareness and looks like a boy in a man's game. My opinion, of course.

Was it Sunderland away this season where he had a great game? Maybe his mental health struggles have impacted him on the pitch? Can't make it easier with the apathy and anger in the crowd booing every mistake.
Maybe he just needs some confidence and belief in himself.

When you've got players like Burgzorg & Thomas wankers no comparison.

He's soft, he hides, never puts a tackle in, has no positional awareness and looks like a boy in a man's game. My opinion, of course. I agree with you, this season he has been very poor and quiet. Away to QPR, Moore's last game in charge, he was horrendous and looked completely out of place. But last season under Warnock, he looked stronger, he put tackles in, and I still remember his sumptuous cross for Ward away at Millwall, which without that, we would have probably been playing in League One last season, and we could have potentially not had an owner (correct me if I'm wrong). He's opened up about his mental health struggles this season, and this could go some way to explaining the fact that he always seemed to be hiding in games, scared of making a mistake. I really hope he can kick on now as I think he definitely has the potential to do so, but if we're going into next season with him as our first choice LWB, then we will really struggle.
