“If Duff chooses to travel from Cheltenham, he will not be going up and down the motorway every day; like his predecessors, he will instead have accommodation arranged for him to stay in Yorkshire throughout the working week.”

Credit to KN and the club. Moved quickly with what could be an excellent appointment. Young but already some success.

The past seasons before we didn’t play primarily non league pub teams, as I’ve demonstrated. But you can keep burying your head in the sand and pretend Neil Warnock can’t make any mistakes possibly. Moot point. Warnock has made mistakes. Show me someone who has made no mistakes and you'll show me someone who has never done anything!

I do have to chuckle about all the positivity around this appointment.
This is the same manager that was linked with us in February and there was a complete meltdown on here, Twitter and Facebook.
He would have been a steady appointment then and is a steady appointment now. Hopefully he lasts longer than three months.

Can't be optimistic about this, i know we are now in league 1 so options for manager were limited but it is very uninsipiring. Naturally i hope im wrong and he goes on to be succesful, but that will be dependant on the degree of investment into the squad.

You can only be up the Duff for 9 months. That gives him until February.

delighted with Michael Duff coming to Town he has the right credentials to take the club forward from here on wishing him the very best as our new manager doubt we’d be where we are now had he come in first time round next season looks a much better prospect all of a sudden UTT

I'm quite pleased. Good record at this level, and it's massively reassuring that we've acted quickly as we dragged our heels last summer and I think it impacted on preparations massively. To lose a manager Friday and replace him Monday is not like us. Hopefully he stays a while so we can shake our "northern Watford" tag.

Nothing really wrong with this appointment.
Think most people always expect Cheltenham to be a struggling L2 team so to get them up was impressive.
A matter of seconds from a shootout that could have had us playing Barnsley this season just gone, so clearly did ok there.
Yeah OK not so great at Swansea, but they want possession based football, that isn't his thing.
No real reason to be negative though. Just got to make a positive start in the league, get rid of as many bad eggs as possible, and bring in players that are committed and willing to play his style of football.
The fact he has good experience at this level is a big help. We couldn't afford another risk on a rookie or a foreigner

Good luck to you Michael, whoever was appointed we all need to get behind them as a club.
From what I’ve been told by a Barnsley mate he’s 3-5-2 man and that’s it, if it works happy days. If it doesn’t there’s no plan B.
BUT he’s a bit gutted he’d rather have him back at Barnsley.
Also he was class on championship manager 99/00 or was it 00/01? Either way he was bloody ace on that game.

Very happy with this, just four months too late! It does make you wonder what might have been. Could Duff's pragmatism and familiarity with English football have helped us scrape over the line? Had we still ultimately gone down we would have at least been four months further on in our reset. I can't pretend I wasn't enthusiastic about AB's appointment at the time, however...

I presume we'll need to cash in on Helik to help fund next season. Why?

He would have been a steady appointment then and is a steady appointment now. Hopefully he lasts longer than three months. Yeh I did think this to an extent to be honest.even my own feelings on it have changed. Think in Feb got carried away after watching Moore football with this notion of having to have attacking football.I think the general consensus was that duff would not provide this, probably incorrectly. I think the positivity stems from a few factors. We’re a level down,we should be able to attract better players for the level,we’ve managed to get it done quickly(a manager out and one in inside 10 days from last game of season) and therefore he has the opportunity to have a full summer rebuild and pre season. The last point is something we haven’t had the last two seasons,we’ve constantly been fire fighting be that on a manager front or player front or both. Like you say it’s a steady appointment which let’s face it is something we desperately require. We aren’t going to be prime Barcelona but I don’t know why we should ever think we will be even if relative to the level. Focus is now on summer recruitment, get that right we should have a very capable pair of hands managing them….we hope 😀
