Guiseley is a 15 minute drive for us, Harrogate we can combine with an evening on the beers so we’ll do both. Still not planning on renewing the season card though.

So Guiseley aren't pro it seems so remains two. York who finished 20th and a point and a place off being relegated to the Conference North and Harrogate who were midtable in League Two You seem to be missing my point. This looks so far no improvement on last seasons much criticised preseason. I would say Stockport and Heerenveen provided a better test We'll have to see what happens in Austria - full games, using players only for 30 mins blocks, who knows if it's little more than training drills or full 90 min games. You on the wind-up? Eh? Seems a perfectly sensible post!

Guiseley is a 15 minute drive for us, Harrogate we can combine with an evening on the beers so we’ll do both. Still not planning on renewing the season card though. Come on Willo you know you want to! I am standing firm on this one. Had a season ticket/card unbroken from 79/80 right through to 2001 when I said I wouldn’t renew in the February if we went down as I no longer wanted to watch League 1 football. We did and I didn’t renew although my son was born in the August of 2001 and I felt my time would be better spent at home. Roll forward to 2012 and having started going to a few games each season under Clark & latterly Grayson, I renewed once again after the victory at Wembley v Sheffield Utd took us back into the Championship - this time with said son in tow. We’ve had a good run for the most part but he is back at uni in September and will not be around for much of the season and I’m on the floor after the last few seasons. Warnock aside which I enjoyed immensely, it’s been bloody awful and I have got zero enjoyment from a great deal of it. I actually stopped going under Fotheringham I was that fed up with it all. Last season was the final straw. We had a perfectly good “interim” manager in charge but oh no, we had to press the self destruct button again and the less said about Moore, the better. Breitenreiter the same. I’ve lost total faith in those running the club, think Duff is a steady pair of hands but the squad is weak and needs a lot of much improved players and I’m not sure we’ll get those required players in this summer. I renewed last summer based on what turned out to be empty promises and I’m not falling for it this time. I’ll take in a handful of games up to Christmas but I took a look at wait awaits us in League 1 when we were relegated and there’s very little by way of exciting opposition. If the club show some ambition, sign some quality and start playing some attractive football, I’ll doubtless return but I can’t see me getting another season card until we return to the Championship. It only took 11 years last time, I’ll be 66 by then, almost certainly retired and possibly spending chunks of time outside of the UK so they need to get a move on. I like some of the stuff coming out of the club but as it stands, it’s all just words and I’ll see where we are in a further 12 months time.

Disappointed that HTAFC ain’t coming to Bonnie Scotland (which they did at some point when they were in League 1 - Possibly 2012 v Hibernian)...
That said I think the players will enjoy Austria (even though I’ve never been there) -
I’m enjoying the break after that season from Hell - But will be back energised for it all when the pre season friendliest all start once again ! 😉

There are summer tournaments available that have a competitive edge. That would have been be a better option IMHO. Let's hope some decent matches are included!

The guy in front was shat on by a seagull. My sister said 'that's lucky' to him. He said 'no, you're the one that's lucky - you haven't been shat on'.

Does anybody happen to have a list of the upcoming friendlies and their dates? I've checked the town site and all it shows is the Emley fixture and can't find anything else.
I'm sure it's been discussed on here before but I can't find that either!

Does anyone know when the tickets for the Guiseley fixture go on sale? I cannot seem to find it on the Town website . The game is only a fortnight away so I would have thought that they should be on sale soon. Should be a good day out!

Hoping we have a decent home friendly, sucks that we don't do them often. Surely our close relationship with Chelsea should bring about a friendly.

Is this it for pre-season fixtures? Surely we'll be announcing more? The players will be nowhere near ready for the season without proper minutes in their legs. We never learn.

We have our tickets for the game at Harrogate. If it goes anything like it did the last time we were there under Schofield, we’ll be off at h/t. More time on the 🍺.

Wonder if anyone from the legendary trialist family will make an appearance at the emley game? Not sure about Town - But there are certainly plenty from The legendary Trialist family in the squad at The mighty Clachnacuddin FC of The Highland League in Bonnie Scotland - Check this out ! 😊

We fancy announcing our Austria fixtures? Bit disappointing when you fancy going over for a few days but the longer it goes on without any announcements the less likely that will be.

It's really annoying. Even if they could tell us the date, time and location of a game that would be helpful. Just so we can book and turn up.

Unless you actually live in Austria, would you go to the trouble of booking a flight across just to watch us in a meaningless pre-season friendly? We’re doing Guiseley and Harrogate but it’s only because it’s quicker for us to get to both than it is the JSS.

Anyone any idea of the parking situation for today’s game up at Emley?

Up the Pewits. Get into them.
‘If you are coming to the game, we’re letting members and volunteers know that we’ve secured access to Warburton Rec for parking. As the village will be very busy, this will free up space in the club car park and on the streets of Emley. Space is still ‘first come, first served’ and you will need to walk round to the main entrance from here.’
