Good business, selling on Rudoni. This is the lad to fill his boots and become the next Academy lad to step up to the first team.
Hope we dont send him out on loan. He's looked the part with his cameo's last season, including Ipswich away.

He's looked the part with his cameo's last season, including Ipswich away. I hope we do. A half-season playing every week will stand him in good stead rather than sitting on our bench awaiting cup opportunities. Still only 19, with plenty of time on his side. No reason to put too much pressure on him if we get our recruitment right.

He's been hiding away under the surface, ready to sink the opposition.

Slight tangent.
Does anyone remember those spogs as a kid that were called Torpedoes? Hard shiny coloured shell, sweet, but with a piece of hard liquorice in the centre? Teeth breakers if you crunched them.
Anyhow, yes, let’s hope Iorpenda makes waves next season and doesn’t submerge as firing blanks.

Hope he doesn’t get the name ‘polaris’ for always diving then 🚀 rapidly surfacing to attack ! 😉
(I think there was a Scottish player called John McDonald that was nicknamed that) !

I hope he gets the chance at Town but a loan might do him good.

You can still buy them you know, at least online, and Sainsburys do the smaller Liquorice Comfits. onepoundsweets.com/p/liquorice-torpedoes/Mind,I'm surprised in some ways. They probably need a health warning these days. If you accidentally sucked too hard and swallowed the thing whole, it hurt if nowt else. Bit like gobstoppers which were even worse.

It will be great if he proves to be good enough but just hoping we don't end up hanging our hat on an academy lad thats barely been near the first team. I pay no attention whatsoever to the hype over the academy these days, too many players been used to pad out the squad who we're told are the next best thing. It's obvious pretty quickly they're not good enough but we hang on too long and it's not good for their development imo playing at a level they're not good enough for and probably never will be. I fear the more money at chuck at the academy the more we'll see it as they try to justify it's existence.

The club must rate him very highly.

I think this hype is just more wishful thinking. A 5 year contract and Mr Chicken & Hartrick's excitement would seem to indicate he's got potential. No idea if he's ready to step up, and I totally get the points about hyping up academy players to distract from failures to recruit for the first team, but this seems to be the player most likely to make the step up. From the few minutes I've seen of him, he looked good on the ball, but maybe a bit casual and could do with bulking out. I'm hopeful on this one, but we'll see (certainly not saying he's ready to be first choice; maybe one to build his minutes up over the season?)

I think this hype is just more wishful thinking. Can you stop being so positive? I just don't see the point of blindly hoping that someone we have only seen very little of is going to be a major player for us in the coming season.

Turned down the offer of schoolboy terms at Brighton and left the family home aged 16 to pursue his career at the other end of the country.
An initial three year pro deal aged 17, which was then extended for another two years the following autumn without any First Team minutes.
That's not normal. A serious mutual commitment and the club very obviously has extremely high hopes for him.
