Are appearances and goals in this competition recognised as senior ones for the record books - or are they treat the same way as friendlies? I presume they do count against fellow L1/L2 teams but with regards the game against the U21s - do they? Someone posted on (I think) the Callum Marshall thread that the goals he or Joe Taylor scored in this comp last season haven't been added to their stats, so possibly they don't. They always have done in the past.

I don’t think they should count.

Probably mentioned further back in the thread. But would rather have National League and National League North/South teams in it. Also the U21 teams can't make the final so really just a friendly for them.

With us not being in it for so long I've not really seen the rules, but if that's true then why TF are they in it at all? Makes it even more Mickey Mouse than having them in it in the first place.

Will be interesting to see how they price these games, especially given the seemingly really low interest in them.
Could be the case that just one side of the Riverside is open as demand probably so low opening both sides would be pointless.

I'm sure I'm in a minority.
But we should go all out to win this.
End of the day, doesn't matter which it is, but a trophy is a trophy. And I'm sure all players want to win.

I won’t go to any games home or away unless it’s semi final and final. Ive earned my stripes to be able to do this and hold my head up. I’ve been there through shite times and good times. Home and away for decades. So I think I deserve to pick and choose what games I spend my money on and have interest in.

You're right there with a day out at Wembley etc, the Sherpa van Autoglass and any of its other interpretations would see teams who only muster 4-5 thousand crowds taking for or five times that, i just cant get enthusiastic about this one.

I’ll be boycotting all 3 games.

In the FA Cup game there was a couple in the Kilner Bank and rather stupidly made themselves known whey they scored, they took a few blows on the way out.

If my memory serves me correct, I'm sure you'll know, the 2 leg games V Blackpool and also Carlisle were exciting and everyone was gutted when we got beat. I do understand people and their views on the U21 teams. But none of them ever win.

I despise this competition. Forced to play the same teams we play every week/every year in a two-league tournament when we already compete in 46 league games plus two other cups which we enter in the early rounds. There is just no need for it. It should be scrapped (along with the UEFA Conference League).

Thought that was impossible to manage now judging by responses on the Morecambe game.

I'd have to say it's the one thing that bothered me most about dropping into league one....playing in this cup against u21 teams especially.
One thing i noticed is how spread out the fixtures are....some start tomorrow and our last game.in a four team group isn't until November. Doesn't help build any momentum for the competition does it....feels like something that should be scheduled very close together to keep the interest
