As a footballer, being told you’re playing in this competition is probably the equivalent of being told you are going on a camping holiday with your grandma while the rest of the family are off to Disneyland.

The greedy league play their under 21's, why can't the EFL teams, maybe if they kicked out the greedy league teams and replaced them with conference sides, may stir a tad more interest. Pointless competition from start to Finish, would not go to any game from game 1 to final even if it was free.

Last chance on Tuesday to stay in a cup competition, will MD play a strong line up (like Brum did v Fulham U21) to ensure we are in the next round (Dec 10/11).
Slow back three against a handful of young whippets, maybe we'll have to give them a few early dead legs.......If we can catch them?

I'll be there by the way.

Sorry pal I got a bit side tracked, what I was going to post was if both Town & Wycombe were to lose on Tuesday night then the rearranged game at Adams Park would likely be in Dec/Jan on the EFLT cup nights.......Which I don't think we would want, best stay in cup the then?

I am still debating whether to go or not Tuesday night. Well no one can blame the weather with it staying dry & mild for mid November, should we manage to go through to the next round is Dec 10/11, then Jan 14/15, Feb 4/5 (Qtr) & Feb 18/1 9 (Semi)........Final at Wembley on Sunday April 13th, anyone booked hotel rooms yet?

Mentioned before its patronisisng we have to play prem U21 teams, are we supposed to gape in awe at the mighty Man utd's hopefulls, they cant even win the fkn thing. This from soemone who used to attend the Leyland daf cup, freight rover trophy, Autoglass cup and any other reincarnations it went under, sometimes even went away too..,piss stake.

I'm a season ticket holder and don't miss many home games. I also travel to at least half a dozen away games every season depending on geography and ticket availability. But I just can't be bothered which I guess speaks volumes. This is not a protest vote, but I'm just not interested whether we win or lose - would prefer us to win obviously. There is defo something missing at the moment in terms of excitement, connection, loyalty - not sure what the right word is??

I'll add Wigan and Stockport to mine, we got smashed at Wigan 5-2, at the old Springfield Park.

This is a B team game to me. Couldn't give less of a fk. Hopefully no injuries and be good if Healey gets a run out. Other than that can we make it a clean sweep of early cup exits? Could be an unenviable new record?

Remember sitting in the tall main stand that night at Wigan, got a programme from that match, mate who collects progs said he saw it going for £25 ages ago (just a sheet folded in two) not many printed for those games so they're sought after by collectors and completists.

Ah yes, Don Valley stadium against Millers (tick).......Currently just two under 21 teams going through, a goal for Town & Fleetwood win shoot out will make it none.

Forgive my ignorance here, what is the mechanism to stop one of these U-21 teams winning the comp? How are they excluded from the final?

Don't think their is, only Aston Villa U21 left in with Bolton too who scored with the last kick to knockout Fleetwood. Also in the Northern draw are; Stockport Tranmere Port Vale Wrexham Morecambe Wigan Blackpool Crewe Chesterfield Lincoln Rotherham Bradford........And Doncaster.

As it's the first time we've been in this competition with the current format..
It's almost the same as before, we're now into a regional knockout competition with 3 rounds. Then a nationwide semi final draw, then a final. All of these are one legged. I believe every game apart from the final also goes straight to pens after 90 minutes?

Poor crowd tonight only just over 3,000, i thought there would be at least 5,000 there tonight against the best club in the world!! well that's what their fans tell you. It can't be good for the team playing with so few fans watching, they will be able to hear anyone who breaks wind.
