Poor crowd tonight only just over 3,000, i thought there would be at least 5,000 there tonight against the best club in the world!! well that's what their fans tell you. It can't be good for the team playing with so few fans watching, they will be able to hear anyone who breaks wind. Despite winning 4-1, the highlight of the night was the old fella sat near me who, when the Utd fans were singing "You've only come to see United" responded with "You've only come to get a sun tan!" Kudos to you if you're on here!

If we got to Wembley I wonder how many would go? 10k tops is my guess Would be a bit different to the last time! Excitement was off the chart then. All but the youngest fans will have been at least once so I think we'd probably have a very low turnout. Don't think it'd be as low as 10k though.

Forgive my ignorance here, what is the mechanism to stop one of these U-21 teams winning the comp? How are they excluded from the final? They’re all shitter than half hearted League 1 and 2 teams.

Only 1 under 21 side has progressed to the knockouts anyway so if the rest of the other clubs can't dispose of them then there is summat wrong.

We still need Bradford to win away to Rotherham next Tuesday if we're going to play them in the next round. It's group winners v group runners up and all Rotherham need to top their group is just not lose in 90 mins vs the Chickens.

I never want Town to lose, but this is honestly a tournament I'd struggle to feel enthusiastic about, Wembley or not.
I'm fairly confident we'd take 20k plus to Wembley if we got there, but I'd rather we went out (dis)gracefully in the 1st ko round, protect our delicate flowers from any further injury risk and just concentrate on trying to get in the play-offs, which can be a complete lottery and therefore represents our best (only?) chance of promotion this year.
Sorry to be negative but I think we're fucking terrible, 4-1 win against Man U kids notwithstanding.

I am still debating whether to go or not Tuesday night. Well no one can blame the weather with it staying dry & mild for mid November, should we manage to go through to the next round is Dec 10/11, then Jan 14/15, Feb 4/5 (Qtr) & Feb 18/1 9 (Semi)........Final at Wembley on Sunday April 13th, anyone booked hotel rooms yet? Not counting my chickens but if we make it I'm definitely going. Need to exorcise the demons of 2022 somehow. That way we'll be better prepared for the play-offs, should we make it...

With the international break in late March (22nd) then the EFLT final on 13th April coupled with Easter games & the season ending on May 3rd. Getting to the final can seriously dent your promotion hopes (as Peterborough found out last season)........Maybe the Brummies will this time, still to yet rearrange Oct postponed fixture.

The fact that a fair number of fans had got blasé about a Championship play off final between 2017 and 2022 suggests to me me that you are right but I think that a BSM final and L1 play off final would be attended by largely the same hardcore of Town fans. 20k for each i'd say.

Peterborough fans paid between £20 and £60 for the final last season so it's far cheaper than the playoffs.

Peterborough fans paid between £20 and £60 for the final last season so it's far cheaper than the playoffs. Plus you get about six weeks notice unlike the playoffs where it's less than 2. So it should be cheaper transport, especially if using trains. Bolton took more to their EFL trophy final then they did in the playoff final by quite a few thousand, playoff final was 15 months later. Northern clubs get a raw end of the deal, it's bloody expensive getting down to London at short notice. About 2 weeks before Coventry's fa cup semi final last season I looked at train tickets from Cov to London on the day of the match. You could get return train ticket for £25. I don't think I got much change out of £500 in 2022 after tickets, transport 'day out costs'- 2 adults and 1 child. I consider myself a mad keen fan but the majority of our fans in attendance at Wembley games aren't. I'd be interested to know what the official figure what we took in 2022 (which will include several hundred Forest wankers that got in our end). I can't remember every seeing it but it was probably down on the 2017 by at least 6,000 because so many people had already been in a not so long ago time.

When did Northampton take 40,000 to Wembley for, was it for this Cup or were they in the play offs. So in the next round is it based on the one game knock out or is it the group stage again

Even though it’d have seen us out this comp - Even though it HAS seen us outta The League Cup & FA cup ☹️ Here’s hoping that it’s all the way to Wembley now - And a win there ! 🏆

Interest in any wembley trip likely to be influenced by how we're playing in league games. If we pick up a bit, start winning and climbing the table in 2025 then excitement will increase as will fans interest.

But football is all about generating interest , sometimes a club thrives with how it plays on the pitch and great vibes off it . We took over 36000 for the reading playoff final because the above was spot on, it makes me cringe when I see folk being so negative about our supporters when they are supporters. UTT . You know town fans have followed the club through thick and thin, why be so negative about the fans when you know dam well the club would take far more than 10000. Tinpot yourself.

For the record, I did not say we would 'only take 10k' because everyone knows damn well we wouldn't. What I did say is that if we did only take 10k then we would be tinpot. If any Town fan is bored of watching Town at Wembley after the last 5 or 6 years of absolute dross we've had to watch then then they've lost their minds totally. Up the Town.
