Lopez was poor, but worse than Denton? Ziko? Bob Pepper was worse than all of them. The sad thing is, he probably wasn't!

Lee Ashcroft was terrible. Some poor Town fan had to pay his wages. He was absolutely fricking awful. Felt sorry for the fans who sponsored his signing.

Michael Williams for me. Alex Dyer was crap too. Never liked Hudson (v1) but he did at least score at Valley Parade (from what I think was actually a cross). Quite a few contenders for worst ever player though Oh god I’d completely forgotten about Dyer by name dire by nature, now he WAS shit! I remember Des Hamilton too, came with a big reputation and history but was absolutely gash for us! Who was the player who was stood at the wrong side of a post against Bradford Nd the ball went in the net just in front of him. Think it was the 3-3 draw - Ian Lawton’s best game for us.

I think he's the worst player we've ever had. Though I'm sure someone will want to argue with me that he isn't. He's shite, but he's no Gordon Tucker 😀 Lee Ashcroft, aggravated by the fact some poor fan paid his wages from his own pocket On Hudlin I struggle to see how anyone thought he had the athleticism to play professionally at championship level. Ridiculous signing.

Peter Withe was fucking terrible for us, like a shit version of Alan Lee (if that’s even possible), all elbows and barging around. Typical of Town to buy a previously really good player right at the very end of their career. He was pushing 40 and living on the fumes of the past, bloody atrocious.

I think our season hinges on the striker we sign.
A quality goalscorer and top 2 is possible. Another player similar to what we've already got and top six might be out of reach

He was brought in as player-coach, though I spoke to Andy May recently and he said he was a great coach but "probably played a bit more than he should have done"!

On our strike force, Stevenage have brought in more strikers than us. Stevenage! Not good enough, we should be in for those players.
Wait.
Hang on…

In my view, promotion is totally dependent on us signing a competent striker who is fit and does not have a record for being injury prone. I certainly won’t be feeling confident about our chances until this happens. I realise that there is still a few weeks to get this done so fingers crossed.

Georgious Donis anyone? or a loan player by the name of michael williams Christ on a bike, I'd forgotten about Michael Williams. He was even worse than the guy we accidentally bought from Emley around the same time! I was going to add Michael Midwood to the list of shitter players than Hudlin but Michael Williams was just so shit he gave shit a bad name. To be fair I think he pretty much forgot about himself, certainly looked like it when he was on the pitch

Didn't we sign him with a broken leg? That was Robbie Williams. The left side of our defence would frequently Come Undone during that era.

If we don't increase our fire power, we will become a regular league one side.

I remember Alex Dyer scoring a cracking solo goal against .. Ipswich maybe at the JSS. I think Keiran Dyer was playing, but im probably wrong.

Chris Hurst when it was his brother that was the better player Your use of the word, "better" suggests that although not fit to lace his younger brother's boots, Chris Hurst was still a player. I refuse to believe he even got a game at non-league level. Still better than Michael Williams though.
