If I understand previous video's etc correctly, there is funding for players, but Nagle doesn't scout them or move on the deals. The lack of a striker is down to the scouting network and Cartwright. He should have been able to source other options that fit Duff's system beyond Alfie May. I could boot up Football Manager 2020 and scout strikers to fit this system! Do we actually have a scouting system? This fella heads it up: uk.linkedin.com/in/lee-maybury-4b683a78And for those who follow Athletico Mince as I do….Mr Maybury sounds like ‘Ding dong, Landlord here…yup yup yup, cup of campachoochoo’.

I'm hoping Healey and Koroma can bang goals in and bring Phillips back who can do a good job at this level. Ward can be 4th choice seen as I can't see him leaving Sell Hudlin... Can't see Harrett getting a transfer with his bad disciplinary and never made his mark on his loan moves. Agree that Hudlin needs to go, but Phillips isn’t the answer. He simply isn’t good enough and again we seem to be holding onto him for some unknown reason, as we are with High, Austerfield, etc. Why do we do this? Time he was moved on. Hudlin, Ward, Phillips, even Harratt, they aren’t the answers to our striking problems. A loan kid from Southampton isn’t either but if he comes in let’s see how he goes. It’s an area we needed to really set out stall out and we haven’t for years. Town are simply not ruthless up front on or off the pitch. We have never really tried Phillips tbf... 1 full appearance for town in a cup game isn't really a fair crack. He is injury prone looking at his career. It's his last season this year so it's make or break. Think he must have something about him to have stayed and signed new deals even though he was off out on loans. I think Phillips would probs do same job as Ballard so can't understand the Ballard signing. Looking at Sacramento's last match he looks like he can shoot on target and create chances so it least he won't miss Ward sitters😂. Think town will never get a 20/30 goal striker we crave so bad because we don't create millions of chances.. But Duff ball does look very good.

Is there still a chance Joe Taylor will join you on loan or has that rumour been quashed? Heard he wants to stay at Luton and fight for a place. Don't blame the lad he will only get abuse if he comes to Town

Heard he wants to stay at Luton and fight for a place. Don't blame the lad he will only get abuse if he comes to Town Why? Soon as he misses a chance or 2 he will get wrote off. Look at Burgzorg... Created most of his own chances last season and didn't have the end product ... But wouldn't of had half the chances of it wasn't for his ability. Town fans hated him. Now he is playing at Boro.. Rudoni same. Diarra got slated too and had alot of ability... Young kid and we slate the kid.. you watch him get to Championship or Prem in the future.

He was totally selfish and is not somebody we need at our club, under any circumstances. Boro will find out soon enough that he is shite.

Boro fans thinking he looks the dogs bollocks and completely oblivious to the fact that he will ignore his team mates every game. How can someone with his talent fail to get any better despite working under numerous managers? They must all say the same things to him and he still just thinks he can do it all on his own.

To be fair we were all very excited with him early doors. He can be very effective. I wanted him gone but wouldn’t be that surprised to see him shine at Boro. Players are not objective, they can fit other clubs and situations differently.

I definitely wasn't as you could see he was absolutely brain dead with zero awareness of when and where to pass it. Fair play if he does well there but I suspect by September plenty of their fans will be fed up with him

We don’t have a strike force. End of thread Ward at least can lead the line a bit but it’s a very poor state of affairs. Koroma is an inside forward and needs moving on for a sell on fee. Hudlin was an interesting punt on a non-league donkey but the coaches haven’t made a player out of him. Some other young kids on the books who are supposedly strikers but I can see them doing much. This billionaire American chairman needs to pull his finger out. As does the chief scout/football direct or whatever his job title is.

Cos not many Championship strikers want to go down a league. Do you even know League One and Two? Healey is too good for League One. Harratt and Hudlin aren't good enough for league 2 nevermind League One. Wards level is League One as is Phillips and Radulovic and Koroma. We need every area of the pitch to chip in with goals. Id rather have a new CM like a Jenson Weir on loan from Brighton or a Ben Garrity that can score from midfield than Hoggy passing sideways/backwards. Give our strikers till January and if they're a let down... Get rid.

Bojan scored a hat trick in 28 minutes last week for B team but pulled his groin and out for 6 weeks apparently, can’t catch a break

Healey Koroma Marshall Radulovic Ward Harratt
+ we’re after Joe Taylor…
Surely a couple of departures before the window closes?

Healey Koroma Marshall Radulovic Ward Harratt + we’re after Joe Taylor… Surely a couple of departures before the window closes? I really don’t think Koroma is a striker. I struggle to see how he performs consistently in that position or fits into the team otherwise. *Hopefully this comes back to bite me.*

So he’s on the striker list!

Happy with strikers have signed and on books. Need to move on those who are not going to make the team.
Really think we need to sign a good solid target man who can lead the line and stay fit. The team still lacks height and aerial ability.

The team still lacks height and aerial ability. We need to get out of the habit of signing injury prone players and hoping they come good for us. Our recent track record in that department isn't great,(not just in attack) but when you gamble sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. We've got height if we choose to use it (Hudlin) but the ability is still questionable.

Neither striker troubled the Posh keeper on Saturday. I thought Healey could have done better - tries hard and ran around a lot but off side at important moments. Offered little of quality - and neither he nor Koroma can get their head to a crossed ball. We won't get promoted if we have to rely on these two as our main strike force.

This new kid (Marshall) had a decent start for us. A goal and an assist in his first 70 mins.I know it was against lesser opposition but Let's hope he can keep it going.

Does anyone know the standard of team that Blackburn put out for the friendly against Town B team? Town won 7-0 with a hat-trick from Healey, two from Ruffels, and Hogg and Iorpenda playing with the youngsters, so a pretty strong team. Looked on Rovers site and can't even see a mention of it. I think it might be worth walking over to watch the B team match at Bolton next Tuesday. Admins might want to move this to a more suitable thread but certainly relevant to the topic.
