Loved that. The press, energy and physicality was beautiful to see, they had some decent footballers but we dominated them and utterly pinned them back. 6/7 right on them in their half. Baffling and rather egotistical tactics from them to keep trying to play out. Whilst we were sloppy on the ball at times, need to be more clinical and were open to the counter, it was a very encouraging performance. Can see we’ve spent a lot of time working on our shape and energy without the ball. Reminded me a bit of the Burnley team under Dyche when they had Andre Gray up front, maybe Wagner’s first season? Obviously nowhere near as good in quality, but we were smothered that day by the strength and intensity of their press. If we can do that every game we’ll be very tough to play against, teams that pass it in this league for the most part will have one or two weak links that will give it away (37 yesterday) and we’ll be right on them. Put a quality striker in that team and it’s a promotion team I reckon. I personally think we get a LCB with some pace, a DM who can pass and a striker, we go up as champions.

Did anyone get an answer as to why the sky coverage terminated on 90 minutes ?? Also, mine cut out 4x with a message about updating Android version on my TV ?? How would you even do that..or check what version is on my Hitachi TV ? The same thing happened to me. I was watching via the Sky Sports App on my phone and couldn’t watch beyond 90 minutes. I’ve heard from other people watching via Now and Virgin that our game wasn’t available to them at all. Hopefully, teething troubles that Sky will sort out quickly.

The "football in a library" one was weird, given that at some points today they were out singing us. Must admit could hardly hear them from B block. The atmosphere in the cowshed was great.. But like an oven with zero room to move. Couldn't hear anything from them where we were stood either. No-one's mentioned the 'You've seen the Town now f**k off home' one either. Dreadful chant and that was before any of them were actually walking out.

I think most people have covered yesterday, namely a very promising start to the season.
After a frantic first 25 minutes when neither team got a real grip on the game the goal settled us down. The 2nd was a killer as it was perfectly timed.
I thought we were actually much better in the 2nd half. Our pressing as a team was excellent and we pretty much controlled the half.
The players grew in confidence in their performance and each other. This will be massively important going forward.
MDs post match interview was also excellent. Positive and realistic in equal measure. His comments about changing the mentality are absolutely what is required, and he's setting about doing just that.
This has set a platform from which we can really attack this season. If we can add a bit more quality to the squad (I thought we needed some controlling the game in midfield in the 1st half) then we are going to be up there for sure.
1 down, 45 to go. Look to get better from this and it's going to be a fantastic ride.
Just one small observation from the stand, which was a stark reminder of what League One facilities are like, there was a strangled chant of there's only one Kevin Nagle. If we do continue on the potential trajectory tomorrow pointed at then hopefully Mr Nagle might get some credit for the commitment he's shown.

Been thinking Evans has looked poor (very slow) but he's not afraid to have a shot is he which is a plus. Lucky but we'll take it. 😲

Young Ferguson was obviously quite impressed with us, in his post match interview he said that it looked like a Championship team playing a League 1 side.

Should have had more as Peterborough looked to have a self destruct mentality in their own box. And why oh why do we foul a defender who is facing his own goal and going nowhere. Happened too many times just get some common sense.

Championship and L2 this issue didn't happen, so someone somewhere at Sky has fucked up massively

Impressive second half apart from we didn't score. Would be nice to see a striker with some pace leading the line for us. Ward should have scored at the end free header basically.

You know the defending player wants to be touched so he can fall over, he cant go anywhere and the attacking player obliges...😡

Mind you referee was helping them makes those decisions.

Refs always fall for it though, the player in front suddenly stops running so the chasing player runs into him...foul !

Good start to the season. I don't think many teams will go to London road and look as comfortable this season. We completely nullified them second half whilst still looking dangerous. Not sure why the Helik goal was chalked off?
We still need some fine tuning and a couple of reinforcements to strengthen the squad, but the early signs are looking good. You can see the players will be giving everything for Duff.

Ferguson knew his team had come up against a serious promotion challenger.
“HUddersfield are a good marker for the top end of the league and, at the end, it looked like a Championship team against a League One team physically and they had too much for us. The first goal is always key. Ricky-Jade Jones looked a threat in the first half and he’s hit one just by the post. We should do better with a three-on-three situation. That’s got to be a goal. Chris Conn-Clarke should give it back to Joel.
“It’s a disappointing start for everyone, the fans included, but I think they’ll look at that and go Huddersfield did look like a Championship team and that’s the marker we’ve seen straight away. We need to learn from that quickly. There’s a lot to take out of the game. We’re going to learn a lot from the first game, more than we usually would given the opposition, but you have to say, in the end, we were well beaten.”

Today proved that we should now retire "How shit must you be, we're winning away." It's nowt to do with the opposition being shit, we're just good! I always encourage fans to make some noise. But that chant annoys the fuck out of me. Was probably funny when first used by a team that had a horrendous away record well into the season.......now part of the football song template 😆......'is there a firedrill' now used when about 15 people leave on 88 mins; not just a mass exodus before 70 mins 😉

An excellent start, and no criticisms from me of any individuals..but I think we can all see there were a few places where we could maybe do a bit better and I'm sure Duff will be ironing those out. That's quite an exciting prospect that even after the 2-0 win we can play better... and hopefully start winning games 3, 4 ..5-0 ..which we could/should have done yesterday.

Posh are a decent side..they will be in the top 6 come the end of the season I have no doubt
I'm still shocked tbh at how easily we dealt with them..it was almost like a training session for us and we could have upped the pace a few notches if needed
I see harrat was on the bench...I know there's a potential cracking player there and I hope he gets a chance soon and turns the bad press around

Couple of things regarding yesterday. Watching the earlier Championship games on Gillette Soccer Saturday... I hadn't realised that Millwall, Stoke and Sheff Wed all had a terrific run of games at the very end of the season. Those teams stepped up to the mark when we couldn't get our act together and finished like a shower of shite. As per the comments of Darren Ferguson, we are a Championship team playing in League 1. Second, the red third kit is growing on me. It's really pink and the plain back was something I hadn't noticed before. I also like the red .

Not saying he's terrible but we can't cling on to this idea that he's suddenly going to become a player.

Great day out yesterday, Town fans in good numbers and in fine form, virtually took over the huge Charters Bar down by the river in the afternoon sun. Just a shame some still sing that daft song, it’s embarrassing. If we keep playing like that for the rest of the season then we will be alright, were certainly not shit!
