Fucking hell, we not expecting a busy game against Morecambe? www.htafc.com/news/2024/july/20/ticket-info--morecambe--h-/“Please note: Home supporters will be seated in the Riverside Stand Upper and Lower Tiers only for this tie. This is an all ticket fixture, therefore there will be no cash turnstiles available on match day.”

You sound surprised. Why? There's nothing appealing about it, so most people won't bother

It's not a particularly glamorous tie.
We're shit in cup competitions.
We're especially shit in the League Cup.
I suspect the club aren't expecting much demand to watch our second string lose 0-1 at home to Morecambe.

Would love us to play Town in the Cup this season. Are City the only English Club to ever beat Town in a Penalty shootout?

This is a League Cup 1st Round match against a shit League 2 side that we will probably struggle to beat with our reserves and its live on Sky! Hmm ... I am starting to see what you mean ...!!

When they say no cash at the turnstiles, does that also mean no card payment either...so you have to buy a ticket first ??

Would love us to play Town in the Cup this season. Are City the only English Club to ever beat Town in a Penalty shootout? No - Chesterfield beat us in 2009. Our last ever game at Saltergate.

Ha ha if only! I remember them beating us 3-1 at Valley Parade on the last day of the 82-83 season. But we didn't care as we were already promoted. The pitch was a quagmire and we wore our home kit with red socks for some reason. Bizarre that I remember that...

I'm going down next Tuesday night against the Shrimpers, nothing else to do. This is the reality of where we are now and there won't be many at all from Morecambe, if we get 5,000 it will be a good crowd.

Bit shite making it ticket only, would be tempted to go otherwise as I'm away on Saturday. Anyone would think the club don't want fans in the ground.

If you go to the ticket office, do they give you a paper ticket to present at the turnstyle?
I had a look at the online booking and it says...
"HOW TO BUY
Online – CLICK HERE Over the phone - call 01484 960 606 during open hours
In person - visit our Ticket Office at the John Smith's Stadium during open hours
DIGITAL DELIVERY
All tickets for Round One of the Carabao Cup will be delivered digitally.
Supporters will receive an email that details how to add your ticket(s) to your smartphone via Apple Wallet or Google Pay functions."
As I don't have Apple Wallet nor Google Pay, it would be a wasted journey if I turned up at the ticket office and they expected to deliver my ticket digitally.

Sorry, I have no idea - I've never done it, but I know it's always open as I walk past it on a match day.
